Acts 14
1 In Iconium it happened that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great number both of Jews and of Gentiles believed.
೧ಇಕೋನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾರ್ನಬರು ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ ಬೋಧನೆ ನೀಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಗ್ರೀಕರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವರಾದರು.
2 But the disobedient Jews stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and embittered them against them against the brothers.
೨ಆದರೆ ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಈ ಸಹೋದರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸಿ ಕೆಡಿಸಿದರು.
3 Long time, therefore, they tarried there, speaking fearlessly in the Lord, who attested the word of his grace by permitting signs and wonders to be performed by their hands.
೩ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಬಹುಕಾಲ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ, ಅದ್ಭುತಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ನಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೃಪಾವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
4 But the mass of the city’s people was divided; part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
೪ಆಗ ಆ ಊರಿನ ಜನರು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾದರೂ; ಕೆಲವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದರು, ಕೆಲವರು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದರು.
5 And when both the Gentiles and the Jews with their ruler made a hostile move to maltreat and to stone them,
೫ಅನ್ಯಜನರೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಕೂಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರನ್ನು ಪೀಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ,
6 the apostles got wind of it, and made their escape to the Lycaonian towns of Derbe and Lystra and the neighboring country.
೬ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಲುಕವೋನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಲುಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ದೆರ್ಬೆ ಎಂಬ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೂ,
7 And there they continued to proclaim the gospel.
೭ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಸೀಮೆಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದರು.
8 Now at Lystra there used to sit a certain man, lame in his feet, a cripple from birth, who had never walked.
೮ಲುಸ್ತ್ರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಹುಟ್ಟುಕುಂಟನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದುವರೆಗೂ ನಡೆಯಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದವನು.
9 He was listening while Paul was preaching, and Paul, looking intently at him, and perceiving that he had faith to be made whole,
೯ಪೌಲನು ಆಡುವ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಪೌಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು;
10 said in a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet!"
೧೦“ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲೂರಿ ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ನಿಂತುಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹಾರಿ ನಡೆದಾಡಿದನು.
11 And he sprang up and began to walk about. Then the crowds, when they saw what Paul had done, shouted in the Lycaonian tongue, saying, "The gods are come down to us in human form."
೧೧ಪೌಲನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಗುಂಪು ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ ಜನರು ನೋಡಿ; “ದೇವರುಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ರೂಪದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದುಬಂದರು” ಎಂದು ಲುಕವೋನ್ಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗಾಡಿದರು.
12 And they began to call Barnabas "Zeus," and Paul, since he was the principal speaker, "Hermes";
೧೨ಬಾರ್ನಬನನ್ನು ‘ದ್ಯೌಸ್’ ದೇವರೆಂತಲೂ ಪೌಲನು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಷಣಕಾರನಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ‘ಹೆರ್ಮೆ’ ದೇವರೆಂತಲೂ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
13 and the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and along with the crowds was about to offer sacrifices.
೧೩ಊರ ಮುಂದಿದ್ದ ದ್ಯೌಸ್ ದೇವರ ಗುಡಿಯ ಪೂಜಾರಿಯು ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಊರಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು.
14 But when the apostles, Paul and Barnabas, heard of it, they rent their garments and rushed out among the crowd, shouting and crying.
೧೪ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರಾದ ಬಾರ್ನಬ ಮತ್ತು ಪೌಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿನೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು;
15 "Men, why are you doing all this? We also are men, with natures like your own! We are bringing you good tidings, that you are to turn from these empty things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is.
೧೫“ಜನರೇ, ನೀವು ಹೀಗೇಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರೀ? ನಾವೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮಂಥ ಸ್ವಭಾವವುಳ್ಳವರು. ನೀವು ಈ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟು ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನೂ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಮಾಡಿದ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಾರಿಹೇಳುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
16 In bygone generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways,
೧೬ಗತಿಸಿಹೋದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತೋಚಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
17 and yet he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness."
೧೭ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸುಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ, ಸುಗ್ಗಿಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿ, ಆಹಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿ, ಉಪಕಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದವನು ಆತನೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
18 Even with saying this they with difficulty restrained the crowds from sacrificing to them.
೧೮ಬಾರ್ನಬ ಮತ್ತು ಪೌಲರು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ಬಲಿಯರ್ಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಆಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
19 And now a party of Jews came down form Antioch and Iconium, and after persuading the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.
೧೯ತರುವಾಯ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ, ಇಕೋನ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಬಂದು, ಜನರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದರು, ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಊರಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಳೆದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
20 But as the disciples collected around him, he rose and went back into the city. The next day he went off with Barnabas into Derbe;
೨೦ಆದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಅವನ ಸುತ್ತಲು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಊರೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
21 and after preaching the gospel to that town, and winning many converts, they went back to Lystra and Iconium and Antioch,
೨೧ಮರುದಿನ ಪೌಲನು, ಬಾರ್ನಬನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೆರ್ಬೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟನು. ಆ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಲುಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ, ಇಕೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದರು.
22 Everywhere they strengthened the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to hold to the faith. "It is through many tribulations," they said, "that we must enter into the kingdom of God."
೨೨ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು. ನಾವು ಬಹು ಸಂಕಟಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಳಿ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
23 They chose elders for them in every church, after prayer and fasting, and commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
೨೩ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಗೂ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದರು. ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವರು ನಂಬಿದ್ದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
24 Then passing through Pisidia they came to Pamphylia and,
೨೪ತರುವಾಯ ಪಿಸಿದ್ಯ ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಪಂಫುಲ್ಯ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಬಂದು,
25 after preaching the word in Perga, they came down to Attaleia.
೨೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಪೆರ್ಗೆ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅತಾಲ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸಮುದ್ರಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದರು.
26 Thence they sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been commended to the grace of God, for the work which they had now completed.
೨೬ಅವರು ಈವರೆಗೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ದೇವರ ಕೃಪಾಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಈ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ.
27 On their arrival they assembled the church and reported all things that God had done through them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.
೨೭ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ, ಆತನು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
28 And they tarried no little time with the disciples.
೨೮ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಾಲ ತಂಗಿದ್ದರು.
