2 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy. To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paulus und Silvanus und Timotheus an die Gemeinde der Thessalonicher in Gott, unsrem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.

2 Grace to you, and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, dem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

3 I ought always to thank God for you, brothers, as is fitting because of the abundant growth of your faith and of the overflowing love with which every one of you is filled toward one another.

Wir sind Gott allezeit zu danken schuldig für euch, Brüder, wie es sich geziemt, weil euer Glaube über die Maßen wächst und die Liebe eines jeden einzelnen von euch zunimmt allen gegenüber,

4 So that I myself am boasting about you among the churches of God, boasting of the stedfastness and faith which you are displaying in all the troubles and afflictions which you are enduring.

so daß wir selbst uns euer rühmen in den Gemeinden Gottes wegen eurer Standhaftigkeit und Glaubenstreue in allen euren Verfolgungen und Drangsalen, die ihr zu ertragen habt:

5 They are an evidence of the righteous judgment of God, who will count you worthy of his kingdom, in behalf of which you are even now suffering.

ein Beweis des gerechten Gerichtes Gottes, daß ihr gewürdigt werdet des Königreiches Gottes, für das ihr leidet,

6 For truly God’s justice must render back trouble to those who are troubling you,

wie es denn gerecht ist vor Gott, denen, die euch bedrücken, mit Bedrückung zu vergelten,

7 and give to you, who are now troubled, rest, along with me at the unveiling "apocalypse" of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with his mighty angels,

euch aber, die ihr bedrückt werdet, mit Erquickung samt uns, bei der Offenbarung unsres Herrn Jesus Christus vom Himmel her, samt den Engeln seiner Kraft,

8 in flaming fire. Then shall he take vengeance on those who know not God, even on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

wenn er mit Feuerflammen Rache nehmen wird an denen, die Gott nicht anerkennen und die dem Evangelium unsres Herrn Jesus nicht gehorsam sind,

9 They shall suffer punishment, even an eternal destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the brightness of his glorious majesty, (aiōnios g166)

welche Strafe erleiden werden, ewiges Verderben, von dem Angesicht des Herrn und von der Herrlichkeit seiner Kraft, (aiōnios g166)

10 when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be wondered at in all believers, on that Day; (for you also believed our testimony).

wenn er kommen wird, um an jenem Tage verherrlicht zu werden in seinen Heiligen und bewundert in denen, die gläubig geworden sind, denn unser Zeugnis hat bei euch Glauben gefunden.

11 To this end I am making my constant prayer for you, beseeching God to make you worthy of your calling, and to fulfil mightily every desire of goodness and effort of faith;

Zu diesem Zweck flehen wir auch allezeit für euch, daß unser Gott euch der Berufung würdig mache und alles Wohlgefallen der Güte und das Werk des Glaubens in Kraft erfülle,

12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in him, according to the grace of our God and of our Lord Jesus Christ.

auf daß der Name unsres Herrn Jesus Christus in euch verherrlicht werde und ihr in ihm, nach der Gnade unsres Gottes und des Herrn Jesus Christus.
