< 2 Peter 2 >
1 But there were false prophets, too, among the people, just as among you also there will be false teachers. These will secretly bring in destructive sects, denying even the Master who bought them, and bringing swift ruin upon themselves.
E kꞌo xkijaluj chi e qꞌalajisal taq utzij ri Dios pa ri tinimit Israel ojer, je xuqujeꞌ kamik chiꞌxoꞌl ix e kꞌo aꞌjtijabꞌ ri kakiya kꞌutuꞌn ri man kꞌo taj pa ri usukꞌ aꞌreꞌ kakibꞌij chi man are taj ri Ajawxel Jesucristo xixkolowik. Kasachisax kꞌu na kiwach ri winaq ri jeriꞌ kakibꞌano.
2 Then there will be many who will follow their immorality, because of whom the Way of the Truth will be maligned.
E kꞌi na kakesaj uwach ri kꞌixibꞌal taq jastaq ri kakibꞌan we aꞌjtijabꞌ riꞌ, rumal ke kabꞌix na kꞌax taq tzij che ri bꞌe rech qas tzij.
3 In their covetousness, with cunning words, they will make merchandise of you; those whose doom has not been idle from of old, and whose destruction has not been slumbering.
We aꞌjtijabꞌ riꞌ rumal ri kijiqꞌjatem kixkimenkꞌetij na rukꞌ ri kitzij. Ojer uloq xaq aꞌyeꞌtal chik kaqꞌat tzij xuqujeꞌ kakꞌis tzij pa kiwiꞌ.
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to chains of darkness, and reserved them for judgment; (Tartaroō )
Ri Dios man xukuy ta kimak ri angelibꞌ ri xemakunik xane xuꞌkꞌyaq bꞌik pa ri qꞌequꞌm, pa taq ri jul, e tzꞌapal chilaꞌ, kayeꞌm ri qꞌij ri kaqꞌat tzij pa kiwiꞌ. (Tartaroō )
5 if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon an ungodly world;
Xuqujeꞌ man xuꞌkuy taj ri winaq ri xekꞌojiꞌ choch ri uwachulew najtir, xane xutaq loq jun qꞌeqal jabꞌ pa kiwiꞌ ri itzel taq winaq, xaq xwi xuꞌkol kanoq e wajxaqibꞌ winaq kachiꞌl ri Noé, are waꞌ ri xtzijonik ri sukꞌal.
6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and reduced them to ashes, thus holding them up as a warning to all who would live ungodly;
Xuqujeꞌ xuqꞌat tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri e tinimit Sodoma xuqujeꞌ Gomorra, xuꞌporoj, xaq xwi chi ri kichajil xkanajik, jeriꞌ xubꞌano rech kakil ri itzel taq winaq ri ukwinem ri Dios.
7 and he delivered righteous Lot who was worn out by the lascivious life of the wicked
Xuqujeꞌ xukol ri sukꞌ achi ubꞌiꞌnam Lot, ri kꞌo rachoch chikixoꞌl ri winaq ri itzel kenoꞌjinik xuqujeꞌ ronojel qꞌij kemakunik.
8 (for that righteous man, living among them, tormented his righteous soul in seeing and hearing, day after day, their lawless deeds),
We sukꞌalaj achi Lot, kꞌo kukꞌ we winaq ri itzel kenoꞌjinik, areꞌ are karaj kubꞌan ri utzilal, xuqujeꞌ sibꞌalaj kꞌax kunaꞌ ranimaꞌ are karilo xuqujeꞌ kuto ri makaj ri kakibꞌan ri winaq.
9 then be sure that the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the wicked (who are even now enduring punishment) for the "Day of Judgment";
We riꞌ jun kꞌutbꞌal re chi ri Ajawxel kakwinik kuꞌkolo ri winaq che ri kꞌaxkꞌolal we je kenoꞌjinik jetaq ri karaj ri Dios, xuqujeꞌ kuꞌqꞌat na apanoq ri itzel taq winaq rech kuqꞌat tzij pa kiwiꞌ, pa ri qꞌij rech kꞌaxal.
10 especially those who spend their lives following the flesh in the lust of defilement, and in despising all authority. Audacious and wilful, they feel no awe in railing against dignities;
We kꞌax riꞌ kape na pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq ri kakibꞌan ri mak rech ri kityoꞌjal xuqujeꞌ pa kiwiꞌ ri kaketzelaj ri utzij ri Dios. Sibꞌalaj nimal chike man kakubꞌiꞌ ta kikꞌuꞌx, kakibꞌij itzel taq tzij chike ri chikajil taq ajchakibꞌ.
11 even where angels, though surpassing them in strength and might, do not bring a railing judgment against them before the Lord.
Pune ri angelibꞌ are nim kichuqꞌabꞌ chikiwach ri winaq, man kakibꞌij ta kꞌut itzel taq tzij xuqujeꞌ man kakimol ta kimak ri winaq choch ri Ajawxel.
12 But these men, like irrational creatures, mere animals, born to be taken and destroyed, continually rail about matters of which they know nothing. In their corruption they will surely be destroyed,
Ri itzel taq winaq kakibꞌij itzel taq tzij che ri jastaq ri man kakichꞌobꞌ taj. Jer e kꞌo aꞌwaj, xaq are kakilij ri kirayinik rumal cher xekꞌiyik rech kechapik kasakꞌix ri kiqul.
13 suffering wrong as the wage of wrong which they have done. These are men who count it pleasure to carouse in open daylight; they are spots and blemishes reveling in their deceit, even while they are feasting with you.
Kakikꞌamawaꞌj kꞌu na ri tojbꞌal rech ri kimak. Paqꞌij kemakunik. Kakibꞌan ri chꞌulujil, kakikiꞌkotebꞌej ubꞌanik ri kimak are kekꞌojiꞌ iwukꞌ pa taq ri iwaꞌim ix.
14 They have eyes full of harlots, eyes that cannot stop sinning. They entice unsteady souls. Their heart is trained in greed. They are an accursed generation.
We winaq riꞌ kekikaꞌyej ri ixoqibꞌ rech kakibꞌan mak kukꞌ, man kekos taj che ubꞌanik ri mak, kakikoj kikꞌuꞌx ri winaq ri man qas tzij taj e kꞌolik, naqꞌatal chike ri jiqꞌjatem, e ralkꞌwaꞌl ri etzelal.
15 They have forsaken the right way; they have lost their way, and followed the road of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrong-doing.
Xkitzaq kanoq ri sukꞌalaj bꞌe, are xkitereneꞌj ri ubꞌe ri Balaam, ralkꞌwaꞌl ri Beor, ri achi riꞌ are karaj kukꞌam pwaq chirij ri jastaq ri man sukꞌ taj ubꞌanik.
16 He was, however, rebuked for his own transgression; a dumb ass spoke with a man’s voice, and stopped the madness of the prophet.
Jun bꞌur xkꞌutuw choch ri achi riꞌ ri retzelal, jun awaj ri maj uchꞌabꞌal, xchꞌaw rukꞌ uchꞌabꞌal winaq xubꞌij che ri qꞌalajisal tzij riꞌ chi man kubꞌan taj ri tontoꞌil.
17 Such men are like waterless springs, or mists storm-driven; for them the blackness of darkness has been reserved.
We achyabꞌ ri je kenoꞌjinik jetaq ri Balaam, jer e kꞌo jun kꞌiybꞌal jaꞌ ri man kꞌo ta jaꞌ chupam, xane xaq jer e kꞌo ri sutzꞌ ri xaq kepaqchiꞌx bꞌik rumal jun kyaqiqꞌ, we winaq riꞌ e qꞌattal apanoq rech ketaq bꞌik pa ri qꞌequꞌmal. ()
18 For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they entangle, by their lasciviousness, in the lusts of the flesh, those who are just about to escape from the men that live in misconduct.
Kakibꞌij taq tzij ri xaq rech nimal, maj kutayij, xuqujeꞌ keꞌkitaqchiꞌj pa mak ri e kꞌakꞌ taj kojonelabꞌ ri kꞌa te kakichapleꞌj uqꞌatik kibꞌ che ri mak.
19 They promise them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of rottenness! (For indeed a man is the slave of anything which masters him.)
Kakitzuj kiritajem chike nikꞌaj chik, aꞌreꞌ kꞌut xaq jeꞌ e jatꞌital na. Ri winaq ri kunimaj ri kataqchiꞌn pa mak, kꞌo xe raqan ri kataqchiꞌn pa mak.
20 For if, after having escaped the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, men are again entangled in them and overpowered, their last state is become worse than their first.
We xel loq jun pa ri etzelal ri kꞌo choch ri uwachulew are xretaꞌmaj uwach ri Ajawxel xuqujeꞌ kolonel Jesucristo, kꞌa te riꞌ katzalij chik pa ri etzelal, kachꞌeketaj chi junmul kꞌax kꞌu na ri kꞌaslemal ri kukꞌaslebꞌej cho ri nabꞌe ukꞌaslemal kanoq.
21 Indeed it would have been better for them not to have known the Way of Righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.
Are katan riꞌ we ta mat xretaꞌmaj ri bꞌe rech sukꞌal choch ri xretaꞌmaj, kꞌa te riꞌ kutzaq kan ri Tyoxalaj taqanik ri xya che.
22 In their case it has happened according to the true proverb, The dog returns again to his own vomit, and The sow, after washing, to her wallowing in the mire.
Xkꞌulmataj rukꞌ we winaq riꞌ jetaq ri kabꞌixik: Ri tzꞌiꞌ xtzalij chutijik ri uxoꞌj, ri aq xubꞌalkatij chi ribꞌ pa ri xaqꞌoꞌl pune kꞌa te xatinisataj bꞌik.
