< 1 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, and Sosthenes, his brother.
Pathen kah kongaih rhangneh Jesuh Khrih kah caeltueih la a khue Paul neh manuca Sosthenes loh,
2 to the Church of God at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, together with all, wherever they are, who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus.
Kawrin ah aka om tih Khrih Jesuh ah a ciim, hlangcim la a khue neh hmuen takuem ah mamih Boeipa Jesuh Khrih ming aka khue Pathen kah hlangboel taengah kan yaak sak. Boeipa tah amih neh mamih kah Boeipa ni.
3 Grace to you, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
A pa Pathen neh Boeipa Jesuh Khrih taeng lamkah lungvatnah neh ngaimongnah nangmih taengah om saeh.
4 I am always thanking God on your behalf, for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus;
Khrih Jesuh ah nangmih te Pathen kah lungvatnah m'paek dongah nangmih ham khaw ka Pathen te ka uem yoeyah.
5 that in everything you have been enriched in him, in all speech, and in all knowledge
A cungkuem dongah amah lamloh olka cungkuem nen khaw, mingnah cungkuem nen khaw na boei uh.
6 (for thus my witness for Christ was confirmed among you);
Khrih kah laipai tah nangmih ah cak pataeng coeng.
7 so that you lack no divine gift, while you are waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Te dongah mamih Boeipa Jesuh Khrih kah a pumphoenah aka lamtawn nangmih te kutdoe khat khaw na hlavawt uh moenih.
8 He will also keep you perfectly stedfast unto the end, so that you will be unreprovable in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Nangmih khaw mamih Boeipa Jesuh Khrih kah khohnin ah a bawt due amah loh cibit la n'cak sak bitni.
9 Faithful is the God by whom you were called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Uepom Pathen amah loh a capa Jesuh Khrih, mamih boeipa kah rhoinaengnah khuila ng'khue.
10 Now I beg you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to speak in accord, all of you, and to have no divisions among you, but to be knit together in a common mind and temper.
11 For it has been plainly told me concerning you, my brothers, by Chloe’s people, that there are dissensions among you.
Ka manuca rhoek, nangmih ah tohhaemnah om tila Khaloe rhoek loh kai taengah nangmih kawng a thuicaih.
12 I mean by this that one of you says, "I am a follower of Paul"; another, "I of Apollos"; another, "I of Cephas"; another, "I of Christ."
Te dongah hekah he ka thui. Nangmih ah khat rhip loh, “Kai tah Paul kah ni, Kai tah Apollo kah, Kai tah Kephas kah, kai tah Khrih kah,” na ti uh.
13 Has Christ been divided? Paul, was he crucified for you? or was it into the name of Paul that you were baptized?
Khrih loh a paekboe a? Nangmih ham Paul te a tai pawn pawt nim? Paul ming ah khaw na nuem uh a?
14 I am thankful to God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
Krispu neh Kaiyu bueng mueh atah nangmih kan nuem pawt te Pathen ni ka uem.
15 so that no one can say you were baptized in my name.
Te daengah ni kai ming neh nuem uh tila pakhat long khaw a thui pawt eh.
16 Yes, I did baptize the house of Stephanas also, but I do not think I baptized any one else.
Tahae ah Stephen cako tah ka nuem van tangloeng. Te phoeiah a tloe pakhat khaw ka nuem nim ka ming pawh.
17 For Christ did not think I baptized any one else. For Christ did not send me forth to baptize, but to proclaim the gospel; and that not in philosophic words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made an empty thing.
Aka nuem ham pawt tih olthangthen phong ham ni Khrih loh kai n'tueih. Calthai cueihnah nen moenih ta. Te daengah man Khrih kah thinglam tah a tlongtlai pawt ve.
18 For the message of the Cross is indeed for those on their way to destruction, foolishness; but for us who are on our way to salvation it is the power of God.
Thinglam olthang tah aka poci rhoek ham angnah la om dae mamih a khang rhoek ham tah Pathen kah thaomnah la om.
19 For thus it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the philosophers, And the prudence of the prudent will I confound.
A daek coeng dongah, aka cueih rhoek kah cueihnah te ka poci sak vetih lungming rhoek kah yakmingnah te ka hnawt ni.
20 Sage, rabbi, skeptic of this present age - where are they all? Has not God made foolish the philosophy of the world? (aiōn g165)
Menim aka cueih? Menim cadaek? Ta kumhal kah oelhkung tah menim? Diklai kah cueihnah he Pathen loh a dap sak pawt nim? (aiōn g165)
21 For when, in the wisdom of God, the world by its philosophy knew not God, the world by its philosophy knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of preaching, to save those who believe.
Pathen kah cueihnah neh ana khueh parhi te Diklai loh Pathen te cueihnah neh ana ming moenih. Pathen long tah olhoe kah angnah lamloh aka tangnah rhoek te khang ham a lungtlun.
22 Jews continue to ask for miracles and Greeks are ever wanting philosophy,
Te dongah Judah rhoek loh miknoek a bih uh tih Greek rhoek loh cueihnah a toem uh.
23 but we come preaching a crucified Messiah - to Jews a stumbling- block, to Greeks foolishness,
A tai tangtae Khrih kawng he ka hoe uh dae Judah hlangvang ham thangkui neh namtom ham angnah la om.
24 but to those who are the called, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Tedae amih a khue tangtae Judah rhoek ham neh, Greek rhoek ham khaw Khrih he Pathen kah thaomnah neh Pathen kah cueihnah la om.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Pathen kah ang tah hlang kah a cueih la om tih Pathen kah tattloel tah hlang kah thaomnah lakah a thaom ngai.
26 For consider your own calling, brothers, that not many wise in earthly wisdom, not many powerful, not many of noble birth, have been called.
Te dongah, manuca rhoek, nangmih n'khuenah te pumsa ah tah muep cueih pawh. Thaom yet pawh, hlangtang khaw yet pawh tila na ming uh.
27 No, God has chosen the world’s folly to confound its philosophy; and the world’s weakness to confound its strength.
Tedae Diklai kah aka ang rhoek te Pathen loh a tuek daengah man aka cueih rhoek te yah a poh sak ve. Diklai kah tattloel rhoek te a tuek daengah man thaom rhoek te Pathen loh yah a poh sak ve.
28 The world’s base things has God chosen, and the things that are not, to bring to naught the things that are;
Diklai kah mathoe rhoek neh a hnaelcoe rhoek te Pathen loh a tuek. Aka khueh te hmil hamla aka khueh pawt te a tuek.
29 so that no mortal man should glory in his presence.
Te dongah pumsa boeih loh Pathen hmaiah pomsang uh boel saeh.
30 It is of him that you are in Christ Jesus, whom God made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
Tedae amah lamkah nen ni Khrih Jesuh ah na om uh. Anih tah mamih ham Pathen taengkah cueihnah, duengnah, cimcaihnah neh tlannah lam khaw om.
31 so that as Scripture says, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
Te dongah a daek vanbangla, aka pomsang long tah Boeipa ah pomsang saeh.
