< Romans 2 >

1 Wherefore, you are inexcusable, O man! whosoever you are, who condemn: for in condemning another, you pass sentence upon yourself; because you, who condemn, practice the same things.
Gwe anenya omuntu omulala, okola ebibi bye bimu ne by’onenyeza omuntu oyo. Kyonoova olema okubeera n’eky’okuwoza, kubanga bw’okola bw’otyo, weesalira wekka omusango.
2 Besides, we know that the sentence of God is according to truth, upon them who commit such things.
Naye kaakano, tumanyi nga Katonda mutuufu okunenya abo abakola ebiri ng’ebyo.
3 And do you think this, O man, who condemn those who practice such things, and yet do the same, that you shall escape the sentence of God?
Naye ggwe omuntu obuntu, akola ebiri ng’ebyo, kyokka n’onenya abantu abalala, olowooza nga Katonda alikuleka?
4 Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering; not acknowledging that the goodness of God invites you to a reformation?
Oba onyooma ekisa kya Katonda ekingi, n’okugumiikiriza kwe n’obukwatampola bwe? Tomanyi ng’ekisa kya Katonda kikuleeta mu kwenenya?
5 But according to your obdurate and impenitent heart, you treasure up to yourself wrath, against a day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Naye olw’obukakanyavu bwo n’omutima oguteenenya, weeterekera ekiruyi ku lunaku lw’ekiruyi n’okubikkulirwa, Katonda lw’alisalirako omusango ogw’obutuukirivu.
6 who will render to every one according to his works:
Katonda aliwa buli omu empeera esaanira ebikolwa bye.
7 eternal life, indeed, to them who, by perseverance in well-doing, seek glory, honor, and immortality: (aiōnios g166)
Aliwa obulamu obutaggwaawo abo abaakola obulungi, nga balina essuubi ery’okuweebwa ekitiibwa, ettendo n’obulamu obw’emirembe n’emirembe. (aiōnios g166)
8 but anger and wrath to them who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness.
Naye abo abeenoonyeza ebyabwe, abajeemera amazima nga bagondera obutali butuukirivu, kiriba kiruyi na busungu.
9 Affliction and great distress shall come upon every soul of man who works evil; first of the Jews, and also of the Greek.
Walibaawo ennaku n’okubonaabona ku buli mmeeme y’omuntu akola ebibi, okusookera ku Muyudaaya n’oluvannyuma ku Munnaggwanga.
10 But glory, honor, and peace to every one who works good: first to the Jews, and also to the Greek.
Naye ekitiibwa n’ettendo n’emirembe biriba ku buli akola ebituufu, okusookera ku Muyudaaya n’oluvannyuma ku Munnaggwanga.
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Kubanga Katonda tasosola mu bantu.
12 As many, therefore, as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law; and as many as have sinned under law, shall be condemned by law:
Abo bonna abaayonoona olw’obutamanya mateeka, balizikirira; era n’abo bonna abaamanya amateeka ne boonoona, bwe batyo bwe balisalirwa omusango, okusinziira mu Mateeka.
13 for not those who hear the law are just before God; but those who obey the law, shall be justified.
Kuba abawulira obuwulizi amateeka, si be bejjeerera eri Katonda, wabula abo abakola bye galagira, be baliweebwa obutuukirivu.
14 When, therefore, the Gentiles, who have not a law, do by nature the things of the law, are a law to themselves:
Abaamawanga abatalina mateeka bwe bakolera mu buzaaliranwa ebintu eby’Amateeka, ebintu ebyo byennyini bifuuka amateeka gye bali, newaakubadde ng’Amateeka tegaabaweebwa.
15 who show plainly the work of the law, written on their hearts; their conscience bearing witness, and also their reasonings between one another, when they accuse or excuse each other.
Ekyo kiraga ng’Amateeka gawandiikibbwa mu mitima gyabwe, era kikakasa munda mu birowoozo byabwe, ng’emitima gyabwe giribasaliriza omusango oba okubejjeereza okusinziira ku ekyo kye bamanyi.
16 In the day when God will judge the hidden things of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
Kino kiribaawo ku lunaku Katonda kw’aliramulira abantu olw’ebyo bye baakisa, ng’enjiri yange bw’eri ku bwa Yesu Kristo.
17 If, now, you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and boast in God,
Abamu ku mmwe mweyita Bayudaaya. Mwesiga amateeka ne mwewaana nga bwe mumanyi Katonda.
18 and know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed by the law;
Bwe musoma ebyawandiikibwa muyiga engeri Katonda gy’ayagala mweyise ne muzuula ekituufu.
19 and boast that you yourselves are a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness,
Mukakasa nga bwe muli abakulembeze b’abazibe b’amaaso, era ettabaaza eri abo bonna abali mu kizikiza.
20 and instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the representation of knowledge and of truth in the law:
Naye olwokubanga, amateeka ga Katonda gatuwa amagezi n’amazima, mulowooza muyinza okuyigiriza abatali bagezi n’abaana abato.
21 you, then, who teach another; do you not teach yourself? You who proclaim, Do not steal; do you steal?
Kale ggwe ayigiriza abalala, lwaki toyinza kweyigiriza wekka? Ategeeza abalala obutabba, tobba?
22 You who command, Do not commit adultery; do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols; do you rob temples?
Ategeeza obutayenda, toyenda? Akyawa ebifaananyi, si ggwe onyaga eby’omu masabo?
23 You who boast in the law; by the breaking of the law, do you dishonor God?
Mwenyumiririza mu mateeka, naye ne muswaza Katonda olw’obutagatuukiriza.
24 For it is written, "The name of God is evil spoken of among the Gentiles, through you."
Ekyawandiikibwa kigamba nti, “Olw’ebikolwa byammwe ebyo, erinnya lya Katonda kyelivudde livvoolebwa mu mawanga.”
25 Now circumcision indeed profits, if you practice law; but if you be a transgressor of law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
Okukomolebwa kugasiza ddala bw’okwata amateeka, naye bw’otagatuukiriza tewaba njawulo wakati wo n’atali mukomole.
26 And if the uncircumcision keep the precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Kale obanga atali mukomole akwata amateeka, talibalibwa ng’eyakomolebwa?
27 And will not the uncircumcision which by nature fulfills the law, condemn you, a transgressor of law, though in possession of the scriptures and circumcision?
Noolwekyo ataakomolebwa mu buzaaliranwa naye ng’akuuma amateeka, alikusaliza omusango gwe alina amateeka amawandiike n’otagatuukiriza ate nga wakomolebwa.
28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh:
Okweyisa ng’Omuyudaaya ate nga wakomolebwa, tekikufuula Muyudaaya yennyini.
29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.
Okuba Omuyudaaya yennyini oteekwa okugondera amateeka. Okukomolebwa okutuufu kwe kukomolebwa okubaawo mu mutima, so si okw’omubiri. Omuntu ng’oyo atenderezebwa Katonda, so si abantu.
