< Revelation 8 >

1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
And when He opened the seventh seal there was a stillness in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and seven trumpets were given to them.
And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
3 And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he might present it with the prayers of all the saints, upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. He was given lots of incense so that he could offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that is before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the perfumes went up, with the prayers of the saints, from the hand of the angel, before God.
And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand.
5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it upon the earth; and there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it at the earth. And there were noises and thunders and lightnings and an earthquake.
6 And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets, prepared themselves to sound.
And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to trumpet.
7 And the first sounded; and there hail and fire, mingled with blood, and it was cast down upon the earth; and a third part of the trees was burnt up, and all the herbage was burnt up.
So the first one trumpeted, and there appeared hail and fire mixed with blood, and it [the mixture] was thrown at the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up; that is, a third of the trees was burned up and all green grass was burned up.
8 And the second angel sounded; and it was as if a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea;
So the second angel trumpeted, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
9 and a third part of the creatures which had life in the sea, died; and a third part of the ships were destroyed.
And a third of the creatures with souls in the sea died. And a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded; and there fell from heaven a great star, blazing like a torch; and fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters:
So the third angel trumpeted, and a great star fell out of the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and on the springs of waters.
11 and the name of the star was called Wormwood, and a third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were become bitter.
The name of the star is called Wormwood; so a third of the waters were turned into wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded; and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day was obscured for a third part, and the night also.
So the fourth angel trumpeted, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened; so a third of the day did not shine, and the night likewise.
13 And I beheld, and heard one of the angels flying in the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell upon the earth, for the remaining sounds of the trumpets of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
And I saw and heard an eagle flying in midheaven saying with a loud voice, three times: “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the remaining trumpet blasts of the three angels who are about to trumpet!”
