< Matthew 24 >

1 As Jesus walked out of the temple, his disciples came, and caused him to observe the buildings of it.
Yeshua [Salvation] went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
2 Jesus said to them, All this you see; indeed I say to you, one stone shall not be left here upon another. All shall be razed.
But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”
3 As he sat upon the Mount of Olives his disciples addressed him privately, saying, Tell us, when will this happen; and what will be the sign of your coming, and of the conclusion of this state? (aiōn g165)
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?” (aiōn g165)
4 Jesus answering, said to them, Take heed that no man seduce you:
Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
5 for many will assume my character, saying, I am the Messiah, and will seduce many.
For many will come in my name, saying, ‘Ena Na [I AM (the Living God)], the Messiah [Anointed one],’ and will lead many astray.
6 Nay, you shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars; but take care that you be not alarmed: for all these things must happen; but the end is not yet.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will arise against nation; and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in sundry places.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.
8 Yet these are but the prelude of woes.
But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
9 For they will deliver you to torments and to death, and you shall be hated by all nations on my account.
Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.
10 Then many will be ensnared, and will betray their fellows, and hate them.
Then many will be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.
11 And many false prophets will arise, who will seduce many.
Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.
12 And because vice will abound, the love of the greater number will cool.
Because of increased illegally ·to be without Torah ·Teaching· (ignorant or intentional violation of law)·, many people’s agape ·unconditional love· will grow cold.
13 But the man who perseveres to the end shall be saved.
But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.
14 And this gospel of the Reign shall be published through all the world, for the information of all nations. And then shall come the end.
This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 When, therefore, you shall see, on holy ground, the desolating abomination foretold by the Prophet Daniel, (reader, attend!)
“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel [My judge is God] the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16 then let those in Judea flee to the mountains:
then let those who are in Judea [Praise] flee to the mountains.
17 let not him, who shall be upon the housetop, come down to carry things out of his house;
Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.
18 and let not him, who shall be in the field, return to take his mantle.
Let him who is in the field not teshuvah ·completely return· back to get his clothes.
19 But alas for the women with child, and for them that give suck in those days!
But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!
20 Pray, therefore, that your flight happen not in the winter, nor on a Sabbath;
Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath ·To cease·,
21 because there shall be then so great tribulation, as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor shall be ever after.
for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.
22 For, if the time were protracted, no soul could survive; but for the sake of the elect, the time will be short.
Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.
23 If any man shall say to you then, Lo! the Messiah is here, or he is there, believe it not:
“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Messiah [Anointed one],’ or, ‘There,’ don’t trust it.
24 for false Messiahs and false prophets will arise, who will perform great wonders and prodigies, so as to seduce, if possible, the elect themselves.
For there will arise false Messiahs [Anointed ones], and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
25 Remember, I have warned you.
“Behold, I have told you beforehand.
26 Wherefore, if they say, He is in the desert, go not out. He is in the closet, believe it not.
If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t trust it.
27 For the coming of the Son of Man shall be like lightning, which breaking forth from the east, shines even to the west.
For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
28 For wheresoever the carcass is, the eagles will be gathered together.
For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together.
29 Immediately after those days of affliction, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall withhold her light; and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the heavenly powers shall be shaken.
But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
30 Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and all the tribes of the land shall mourn, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with great majesty and power.
and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
31 And he will send his messengers with a loud sounding trumpet, who shall assemble his elect from the four quarters of the earth, from one extremity of the world to the other.
He will send out his angels with a great sound of a shofar ·ram horn·, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
32 Learn now a similitude from the fig tree. When its branches become tender and put forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh.
“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near.
33 In like manner, when you shall see all these things, know that he is near, even at the door.
Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Indeed, I say to you, this race shall not pass, until all these things happen.
Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished.
35 Heaven and earth shall fail; but my words shall never fail.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
36 But of that day, and that hour, know none, but the Father; no, not the angels.
But when that day and hour will come, no one knows— not the angels in heaven, not the Son, only Abba Father.
37 Now that which happened in Noah's time, will also happen at the coming of the Son of Man.
“For the Son of Man’s coming will be just as it was in the days of Noah [Rest].
38 For as in the days before the flood, even to that day that Noah entered the ark, they were eating and drinking, and marrying,
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah [Rest] entered into the ship,
39 and suspected nothing, until the flood came and swept them all away: so shall it also be at the coming of the Son of Man.
and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
40 Two men shall be in the field; one shall be taken, and one shall be left.
Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left;
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; one shall be taken, and one shall be left.
two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left.
42 Watch, therefore, since you know not at what hour your master will come.
Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
43 You are sure, that if the householder knew at what time of the night the thief would come, he would watch, and not suffer him to break into his house.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Be you, therefore, always prepared; because the Son of Man will come at an hour, when you are not expecting him.
Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
45 Who, now, is the discreet and faithful servant, whom his master has set over his household, to dispense to them regularly their allowance?
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?
46 Happy that servant, if his master, at his return, find him so employed.
Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.
47 Indeed, I say to you, he will intrust him with the management of all his estate.
Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
48 But as to the vicious servant, who shall say within himself, My master defers his return,
But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’
49 and shall beat his fellow-servants, and feast and carouse with drunkards;
and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,
50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not expecting him, and at an hour of which he is not apprised,
the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour when he does not know it,
51 and having discarded him, will assign him his portion among the perfidious. Weeping and gnashing of teeth shall be there.
and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
