Matthew 14
1 At that time, Herod the tetrarch, hearing of the fame of Jesus,
En tiu tempo la tetrarĥo Herodo aŭdis la famon pri Jesuo,
2 said to his servants, This is John the Immerser; he is raised from the dead and therefore miracles are performed by him.
kaj diris al siaj servantoj: Tiu estas Johano, la Baptisto; li leviĝis el la mortintoj, kaj tial tiuj potencaĵoj energias en li.
3 For Herod had caused John to be apprehended, imprisoned, and bound, on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife;
Ĉar Herodo jam arestis Johanon kaj ligis lin kaj metis lin en malliberejon pro Herodias, kiu estis edzino de lia frato Filipo.
4 for John had said to him, It is not lawful for you to have her.
Ĉar Johano diris al li: Ne decas, ke vi havu ŝin.
5 And Herod would have put him to death, but was afraid of the populace, who accounted him a prophet.
Kaj dezirante mortigi lin, li timis la popolon, ĉar oni opiniis lin profeto.
6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company, and pleased Herod,
Sed kiam venis la naskotaga festo de Herodo, la filino de Herodias dancis en la mezo, kaj plaĉis al Herodo.
7 wherefore he swore he would grant her whatever she would ask.
Tiam li ĵure promesis doni al ŝi ion ajn, kion ŝi petos.
8 She being instigated by her mother, said, Give me here, in a basin, the head of John the Immerser.
Kaj ŝi, instigite de sia patrino, diris: Donu al mi ĉi tie sur plado la kapon de Johano, la Baptisto.
9 And the king was sorry; nevertheless, from a regard to his oath and his guests, he commanded that it should be given her.
Kaj la reĝo malĝojis; tamen pro siaj ĵuroj kaj pro la kunmanĝantoj li ordonis doni ĝin;
10 Accordingly John was beheaded in the prison by his order.
kaj sendinte, li senkapigis Johanon en la malliberejo.
11 And his head was brought in a basin, and presented to the young woman; and she carried it to her mother.
Kaj oni alportis lian kapon sur plado, kaj donis ĝin al la knabino, kaj ŝi alportis ĝin al sia patrino.
12 After which, his disciples went and brought the body, and having buried it, came and told Jesus.
Kaj liaj disĉiploj venis kaj forportis la korpon kaj enterigis ĝin, kaj ili iris kaj rakontis tion al Jesuo.
13 When Jesus heard this, he embarked privately; and retired into a desert place; of which the people being informed followed him by land out of the cities.
Kaj Jesuo, aŭdinte, foriris de tie en ŝipeto al dezerta loko aparte; kaj la homamasoj, aŭdinte, sekvis lin, piedirante el la urboj.
14 Observing, as he landed, a great multitude, he had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
Kaj li elvenis, kaj vidis grandan homamason, kaj li kortuŝiĝis pri ili, kaj sanigis iliajn malsanulojn.
15 Toward the evening, his disciples accosted him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past, dismiss the multitude, that they may go to the villages; and buy themselves provisions.
Kaj kiam venis la vespero, liaj disĉiploj venis al li, dirante: La loko estas dezerta, kaj la horo jam pasis; forsendu la homamason, por ke ili iru en la vilaĝojn kaj aĉetu por si manĝaĵon.
16 Jesus answered, They need not go. Supply them yourselves.
Sed Jesuo diris al ili: Ili ne bezonas foriri; vi donu al ili manĝi.
17 They said to him, We have here but five loaves and two fishes.
Kaj ili diris al li: Ni nenion havas ĉi tie, krom kvin panoj kaj du fiŝoj.
18 He replied, Bring them hither to me.
Kaj li diris: Alportu ilin ĉi tien al mi.
19 Then having commanded the people to recline upon the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking toward heaven, blessed them; then breaking the loaves, he gave them to the disciples, and they distributed them among the people.
Kaj li ordonis al la homamasoj sidiĝi sur la herbo; kaj li prenis la kvin panojn kaj la du fiŝojn, kaj suprenrigardinte al la ĉielo, li benis kaj dispecigis la panojn, kaj donis al la disĉiploj, kaj la disĉiploj al la homamasoj.
20 When all had eat, and were satisfied, they carried off twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
Kaj ĉiuj manĝis kaj satiĝis; kaj oni kolektis da postrestintaj fragmentoj dek du plenajn korbojn.
21 Now they that had eat were about five thousand men; besides women and children.
Kaj la manĝantoj estis ĉirkaŭ kvin mil viroj, krom virinoj kaj infanoj.
22 Immediately he obliged the disciples to embark and pass over before him, while he dismissed the multitude.
Kaj tuj li devigis la disĉiplojn eniri en la ŝipeton kaj iri antaŭ li al la alia bordo, ĝis li forsendos la homamason.
23 Having dismissed the multitude, he retired by himself to a mountain to pray, and remained there alone.
Kaj forsendinte la homamason, li supreniris sur la monton sola, por preĝi; kaj kiam vesperiĝis, li estis tie sola.
24 By that time the bark was half way over, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
Sed la ŝipeto jam estis meze de la maro, turmentata de la ondoj; ĉar la vento estis kontraŭa.
25 In the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
Kaj en la kvara gardoparto de la nokto li venis al ili, irante sur la maro.
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, being terrified, they exclaimed, An apparition! and cried out for fear.
Sed la disĉiploj, vidante lin iranta sur la maro, maltrankviliĝis, dirante: Jen fantomo; kaj ili ekkriis pro timo.
27 Jesus immediately spoke to them, saying, Take courage; it is I, be not afraid.
Sed tuj Jesuo parolis al ili, dirante: Kuraĝu; ĝi estas mi; ne timu.
28 Peter answering, said to him, If it be you, Master, bid me to come to you on the water.
Kaj responde al li Petro diris: Sinjoro, se ĝi estas vi, ordonu min veni al vi sur la akvo.
29 Jesus said, Come. Then Peter getting out of the bark, walked on the water toward Jesus.
Kaj li diris: Venu. Kaj Petro, malsuprenirinte el la ŝipeto, iris sur la akvo, por veni al Jesuo.
30 But finding the wind boisterous, he was frightened; and beginning to sink, cried, Master, save me.
Sed vidante la venton, li timis, kaj komencante subakviĝi, li ekkriis, dirante: Sinjoro, savu min.
31 Jesus instantly stretching out his hand, caught him; and said to him, Distrustful man, wherefore did you doubt?
Kaj tuj Jesuo etendis la manon kaj ektenis lin, dirante al li: Ho malgrandfidulo, kial vi dubis?
32 When they had gone aboard, the wind ceased.
Kaj kiam ili supreniris en la ŝipeton, la vento ĉesiĝis.
33 Then those in the bark came, and prostrated themselves before him, saying, You are assuredly God's son.
Kaj tiuj, kiuj estis en la ŝipeto, adorkliniĝis al li, dirante: Vere vi estas Filo de Dio.
34 Having passed over, they landed on the territory of Gennesaret;
Kaj transirinte, ili alvenis teren ĉe Genesaret.
35 the inhabitants of which knowing him, sent through all that country, and brought to him all the diseased,
Kaj kiam la viroj de tiu loko ekkonis lin, ili sendis en la tutan ĉirkaŭaĵon, kaj venigis al li ĉiujn malsanulojn;
36 who besought him to let them touch but a tuft of his mantle; and as man as touched were cured.
kaj ili petis lin, ke ili nur tuŝu la randon de lia mantelo; kaj ĉiuj, kiuj tuŝis, estis tute resanigitaj.
