< Mark 14 >
1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were contriving how they might take Jesus by surprise, and kill him.
Faasika Baale bonchchiya gallasaynne Uytha Baale bonchchiya gallasay gakkanaw nam77u gallasi attis. Kahine halaqatinne higge asttamaareti asi eronna Yesuusa oykkidi wodhdhiya oge koyoosona.
2 They said, however, Not during the festival, for fear of an insurrection among the people.
“Asay ooshshaa kessonna mela Faasika bonchchiya gallasan hessa oothoko” yaagidosona.
3 Now being at table in Bethany, in the house of Simon, formerly a leper, there came a woman with an alabaster box of the balsam of spikenard, which was very costly; and she broken open the box, and poured the liquor upon his head.
Yesuusi Bitaaniya kataman baro hargganchchuwa Simoona son gibira bolla uttidashin, issi maccasiya albasxiroose giya shuchchafe oosettida philqqaaxe kumetha narddoose giya daro al77o shitto ekkada yasu. He philqqaaxiya menthada shittuwa Yesuusa huu7iyan tigasu.
4 There were some present, who said with indignation, Why this profusion of the balsam?
He bessan de7iya asappe issoy issoy hanqettidi, “Ha shittoy mela coo iitey aybisse?
5 For it could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, which might have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
Ha shittuwa heedzu xeetu dinaaren bayzidi, miishiya manqotas immanaw dandda7ettees” yaagidi bantta giddon odettidosona. Yaatidi, he maccasiw daro boridosona.
6 But Jesus said, Let her alone. Why do you molest her? She has done me a good office.
Shin Yesuusi “Ha maccasiw aykkoka gooppite; iyo ays waaysetii? Iya taw lo77obaa oothasu.
7 For you will have the poor always amongst you, and can do them good whenever you please; but me you will not always have.
Manqoti ubba wode hinttera de7oosona. Hintte koyida wode awudekka hintte entta maaddanaw dandda7eeta, shin taani ubba wode hinttera de7ikke.
8 She has done what she could. She has beforehand embalmed my body for the funeral.
Iya ba dandda7idayssa oothasu; qassi tana moogos giigisanaw kasetada shitto tiyasu.
9 Indeed, I say to you, in whatsoever corner of the world the glad tidings shall be proclaimed, what this woman has now done, shall be mentioned to her honor.
Taani hinttew tuma odays; sa7a ubban Wonggelaa odiyason awunkka, asay iyo akeekana mela ha iya oothidayssi odettana” yaagis.
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, repaired to the chief priests, to betray Jesus to them.
Tammanne nam77u tamaaretappe issoy Asqoroota Yihuda geetetteyssi Yesuusa kahine halaqatas aathi immanaw enttako bis.
11 And they listened to him with joy, and promised to give him money. Afterward he sought a favorable opportunity to deliver him up.
Entti hessa si7ida wode ufayttidi, “Nuuni new miishe immana” yaagidosona; Yihudi Yesuusa aathi immanaw injje wode koyees.
12 Now the first day of unleavened bread, when the passover is sacrificed, his disciples said to him, Whither shall we go to prepare for your eating the passover?
Uythaa miya gallas bonchchiya koyro gallas, Faasika kathaa maanaw maraze shukkiya wode, Yesuusa tamaareti iyakko, “Faasika bonchchiya gallas neeni maana kathaa nuuni aw bidi giigisino?” gidi oychchidosona.
13 Then he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, Go into the city, where you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water; follow him;
Yesuusi ba tamaaretappe nam77ata hayssada yaagidi kiittis: “Katamaa biite; hintte bishin, otora haathe tookkida issi uray hinttera gahettana; iya kaallite.
14 and wherever he shall enter, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says, Where is the guest chamber, in which I may eat the passover with my disciples?
I bidi geliya keethaawa, ‘Asttamaarey neekko, “Taani ta tamaaretara Faasika maanaw imatha kifiley awunee?” yaagees’ yaagite.
15 And he will show you a large upper room ready furnished. There prepare for us.
Keethaaway hinttena pooqiya bolla de7iya giigi uttida dalgga kifile bessana; hessan giigisite” yaagis.
16 Accordingly, his disciples went away, and being come into the city, found everything as he had told them, and prepared the passover.
He nam77u tamaareti keyidi, katama bidosona; Yesuusi enttaw odidayssada demmidi, Faasika kathaa giigisidosona.
17 In the evening he went thither with the twelve.
Sa7ay omarssiya wode Yesuusi tammanne nam77u tamaaretara yaa bis.
18 As they were at table eating, Jesus said, Indeed, I say to you, that one of you who eats with me, will betray me.
Entti uttidi kathi mishin, Yesuusi enttako, “Taani hinttew tuma odays; hinttefe issoy taara meyssi, tana aathi immana” yaagis.
19 Upon this they became very sorrowful; and asked him, all of them, one after another, Is it I?
Iya tamaareti dagammidi, bantta huu7en huu7en, “Tuma taneshsha?” yaagidi iya oychchidosona.
20 He answering, said to them, It is one of the twelve; he who dips his morsel in the dish with me.
Yesuusi zaaridi, “He uray hintte tammanne nam77atappe issuwa; I taara issife tushanaw ba uythaa shaatiyan yeddeyssa.
21 The Son of Man departs in the manner foretold in the scripture concerning him; but alas for that man! by whom the Son of Man is betrayed: it had been better for that man never to have been born.
Asa Na7ay, Geeshsha Maxaafay hayqqana gidayssada hayqqana, shin Asa Na7aa, aathi immiya uraa ayye. He uray yelettonna attidaakko iyaw lo77oshin” yaagis.
22 While they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and after blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, Take; this is my body.
Entti miishin, Yesuusi uythaa ekkidi, Xoossaa galatis; he uythaa menthidi, ba tamaaretas immishe, “He7ite, hayssi ta ashuwa” yaagis.
23 Then he took the cup, and having given thanks, gave it to them; and they all drank of it.
Xuu7aa ekkidi, Xoossaa galatidi, enttaw immin ubbayka he xuu7appe uyidosona.
24 And he said to them, This is my blood, the blood of the new institution, shed for many.
Yesuusi, “Hayssi ooratha caaquwan daro asaa gisho gukkiya ta suuthaa.
25 Indeed, I say to you, that I will drink no more of the product of the vine, till that day when I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Taani hinttew tuma odays; taani Xoossaa kawotethan ooratha woyniya uyana gallasay gakkanaw zaarada ha woyniyappe uyikke” yaagis.
26 And after the hymn, they went to the Mount of Olives.
Mazmure yexxidaappe guye, Shamaho Deriya bolla bidosona.
27 And Jesus said to them, This night I shall prove a stumbling stone to you all; for it is written, "I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be dispersed."
Yesuusi enttako, “Hintte ubbay tana yeggi aggidi baqatana; Geeshsha Maxaafay, ‘Xoossay dorssa heemmeyssa wodhana, dorssati ubbay laalettana’ yaagees.
28 Nevertheless, after I am raised again, I will go before you to Galilee.
Shin taani hayqoppe denddidaappe guye, hinttefe kasetada Galiila baana” yaagis.
29 Peter then said to him, Though they all should stumble, I never will.
Phexiroosi zaaridi, “Entti ubbay nena yeggi aggidi baqatikkoka, ta nena aggike” yaagis.
30 Jesus answered him, Indeed, I say to you, that to-day, this very night, before the cock crow twice, even you will disown me thrice.
Yesuusi Phexiroosakko, “Taani new tuma odays; hachchi qamma kuttoy nam77u toho waassanaappe sinthe neeni tana heedzu toho kaddana” yaagis.
31 But Peter insisted on it, adding, Although I should die with you, I will never disown you. And all the rest said the same.
Shin Phexiroosi kaseyssafe minthidi, “Taani hari attoshin, neera issife hayqqiyakokka, nena kaddike” yaagis. Qassi harati ubbatikka hessada gidosona.
32 Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, where he said to his disciples, Stay here while I pray.
Geetesemaane giya bessaa bidosona; Yesuusi ba tamaaretakko, “Taani Xoossaa woossada simmana gakkanaw hintte hayssan uttishite” yaagis.
33 And he took with him Peter, and James, and John, and being seized with grief and horror,
Yesuusi Phexiroosa, Yayqoobanne Yohaannisa baara ekkidi bis; daro waayettisinne un77ettis.
34 said to them, My soul is overwhelmed with a deadly anguish; tarry here and watch.
Qassi enttako, “Taani hayqqana gakkanaw azzanas, hayssan gam77ishite; dhiskkofite” yaagis.
35 And going a little before, he threw himself on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, he might be delivered from that hour,
Guuthi sinthe shiiqidi, sa7an gufannidi, dandda7ettiyabaa gidikko, he waayiya saatey baappe aadhdhana mela, Xoossaa woossis.
36 and said, Abba, (that is, Father, ) all things are possible to thee; take this cup away from me; yet not what I would, but what thou wilt.
Qassi, “Abbaa, ta Aawaw, ubbabay new dandda7ettees, ha waaye xuu7aa taappe digga. Shin ne sheney hanoppe attin ta sheney hanoppo” yaagis.
37 Then he returned, and finding them asleep, said to Peter, Simon, do you sleep? Could you not keep awake a single hour?
Yesuusi ba tamaaretakko simmi yidi, entti dhiskkidashin demmidi, Phexiroosakko, “Simoonaa, dhiskkadii? Neeni issi saatekka barkkada naaganaw dandda7abiikkii?
38 Watch and pray, that you be not overcome by temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Paacen hintte gelonna mela barkkidi naagitenne Xoossaa woossite. Hinttew lo77o amoy de7ees, shin hintte daaburanchcho asi” yaagis.
39 Again, he retired and prayed, using the same words.
Qassika bidi kaseyssadakka Xoossaa woossis.
40 When he returned, he again found them sleeping; for their eyes were overpowered, and they knew not what to answer him.
Ba tamaaretakko guye simmidi yaa wode, dhiskkidashin demmis. Entta ayfiyaa dhiskkoy goozi wothida gisho, iyaakko ay odettiyakokka erokkona.
41 A third time he came, and said to them, Do you now sleep, and take your rest? All is over: the hour is come: and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners.
Heedzantho enttako yidi, “Ha77i gakkanawukka dhiskkeetinne shemppetii? Hiza, gidana; saatey gakkis; be7ite! Asa Na7ay, nagaranchcho asatas aadhdhi imettana wodey gakkis.
42 Arise. Let us be going. Lo! he who betrays me is drawing near.
Denddidi yedhdhite; be7ite, tana aathi immanayssi gakkis” yaagis.
43 Immediately, before he had done speaking, appeared Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude armed with swords and clubs, who were sent by the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
Yesuusi hessa buroo odishin, tammanne nam77u iya tamaaretappe issoy, Yihudi, ellesidi gakki wodhdhis. Qassi kahine halaqati, higge asttamaaretinne cimati kiittin, bisonne xam77a oykkida daro asay iyara issife yidosona.
44 Now the betrayer had given them this signal: The man whom I shall kiss, is he; seize him, and lead him away safely.
Yesuusa aathi immanayssi he daro asaas, “Taani yeerey iya; iya oykkidi, loythi naagidi, ekki efite” yaagidi malla odi wothis.
45 He was no sooner come, than accosting Jesus, he said, Rabbi, Rabbi, and kissed him.
Yihudi gakki wodhdhida mela Yesuusakko shiiqidi, “Asttamaariyaw” yaagidi Yesuusa yeeri ekkis.
46 Then they laid hands on him and seized him.
He daro asay Yesuusa oykkidosona.
47 But one of those who were present, drew his sword, and smiting the high priest's servant, cut off his ear.
Shin matan eqqidayssatappe issoy ba bisuwa shoddidi kahine halaqaa aylliya shocidi, iya haytha qanxidi holis.
48 Then Jesus addressing them, said, Do you come with swords and clubs to apprehend me, like people in pursuit of a robber?
Yesuusi zaaridi, he shiiqida daro asaakko, “Tana pangga kessidi, pangga oykkeyssada oykkanaw bisonne xam77a oykkidi yidetii?
49 I was daily amongst you, teaching in the temple, and you did not arrest me. But in this the scriptures are accomplished.
Taani Xoossa Keethan tamaarssashe, gallas gallas hinttera de7iya wode tana oykkibeekketa, shin Geeshsha Maxaafay gidayssi polettanaw bessees” yaagis.
50 Then they all forsook him and fled.
Iya tamaareti ubbay iya yeggi aggidi baqatidosona.
51 Now there followed him a youth, who had only a linen cloth wrapped about his body; the soldiers having laid hold of him,
Laxana xalaala ma77ida issi naatetha uray Yesuusa kaalleyssa asay oykkis.
52 he left the cloth, and fled from them naked.
Shin he uray laxana yeggi aggidi, xire kallo baqatis.
53 Then they took Jesus away to the high priest, with whom all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes, were convened.
Asay Yesuusa kahine halaqaa soo efidosona. Yan kahine halaqati, cimatinne higge asttamaareti shiiqidi de7oosona.
54 And Peter followed him at a distance, as far as the court of the high priest's house, and sat there with the officers, warming himself at the fire.
Phexiroosi kahine halaqaa zabbaa gakkanaw haahon iya kaalli bidi yan naageyssatara uttidi tama kayees.
55 Meanwhile, the chief priests, and all the Sanhedrin, sought for evidence against Jesus, in order to condemn him to die, but found none:
Kahine halaqatinne shiiqida asay ubbay Yesuusa wodhanaw iya bolla markka koyidosona, shin aykkoka demmibookkona.
56 for many gave false testimony against him, but their testimonies were insufficient.
Daro asati iya bolla worddo markkattidosona, shin entta markkatethay issino gidenna.
57 The some arose, who testified falsely against him, saying,
Issi issi asati denddi eqqidi Yesuusa bolla, “I, ‘Taani asi keexida ha Xoossa Keetha laallada, asa kushen keexettiboonna hara Xoossa Keetha heedzu gallasa giddon keexana’ gishin nuuni si7ida” yaagidi worddo markkattidosona.
58 We heard him say, I will demolish this temple made with hands, and in three days will build another without hands.
59 But even here their testimony was defective.
Gidoshin, entta markkatethay hessankka issino gidenna.
60 Then the high priest, standing up in the midst, interrogated Jesus, saying, Do you answer nothing to what these men testify against you?
Kahine halaqay asa ubbaa sinthan denddi eqqidi, “Hayssati nena mootiya mootuwas ne zaariyabay baawe?” yaagidi Yesuusa oychchis.
61 But he was silent, and gave no answer. Again, the high priest interrogating him, said, Are you the Messiah, the Son of the blessed One?
Shin Yesuusi si7i gis; aykkoka zaaribeenna. Kahine halaqay, “Anjjettida Xoossaa Na7ay, Kiristtoosi neneyye?” yaagidi zaari oychchis.
62 Jesus answered, I am; nay, you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Almighty, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Yesuusi zaaridi, “Ee tana, hintte Asa Na7ay, wolqqaama Xoossaafe ushachcha baggara uttidashin qassi saluwa shaarara yishin be7ana” yaagis.
63 Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, What further need have we of witnesses?
Kahine halaqay ba ma7uwa peedhidi, “Nuna hara markka ay koshshii?
64 You have heard the blasphemy. What is your opinion? And they all pronounced him worthy of death.
Hintte iya cashshaa si7ideta; hintte qofay aybee?” yaagis. Entti ubbay, “I hayqqanaw bessees” yaagidi iya bolla pirddidosona.
65 Then some began to spit on him; others to cover his face and buffet him, saying to him, Divine who it is. And the officers gave him blows on the cheeks.
Enttafe issoti issoti iya bolla cutethi oykkidosona. Iya ayfiyaa goozidi baqqishe, “Nena dechchiday oonee? Ane nuus oda!” yaagidosona. Naageyssati iya ekki efidi garaafidosona.
66 Now Peter being below in the court, one of the maids of the high priest came thither,
Phexiroosi kahine halaqaa zabban garssa baggara de7ishin, kahine halaqaa macca aylletappe issinniya yaa yasu.
67 who seeing Peter warming himself, looked on him, and said, You also were with the Nazarene Jesus.
Phexiroosi tama kayeyssa be7ada, tishshi ootha xeellada, “Neenikka Naazirete Yesuusara de7aasa” yaagasu.
68 But he denied it, saying, I know him not: nor do I understand what you mean. Immediately he went out into the portico, and the cock crew.
Shin Phexiroosi, “Ne geyssi aybeekko ta erikke, taw akeekettenna” yaagidi kaddis. Yaagi simmidi zago keyaa wode sohuwara kuttoy waassis.
69 The maid seeing him again, said to the bystanders, This is one of them.
He aylliya Phexiroosa be7ada, iya matan eqqida asatakko, “Ha uraykka enttara de7ees” gada zaara odasu.
70 Again he denied. And a little after, those who were present said to Peter, You are certainly one of them; for you are a Galilean, your speech shows it.
Shin Phexiroosi qassika kaddis. Guuthi gam77ishin, matan eqqida asati nam77antho Phexiroosakko, “Neeni Galiila biitta asi gidiya gisho tuma enttara de7aasa” yaagidosona.
71 Upon this he affirmed, with imprecations, and oaths, that he did not know the man of whom they spoke.
Shin Phexiroosi, “Taani hintte giya uraa erikke!” yaagidi bana qanggethinne caaqo oykkis.
72 The cock crew the second time: and Peter recollected the word which Jesus had said to him, Before the cock crow twice, you will disown me thrice. And reflecting upon this, he wept.
Sohuwara kuttoy nam77antho waassi aggis. Phexiroosi Yesuusi iyaakko, “Neeni kuttoy nam77u toho waassanaappe sinthe heedzu toho tana kaddana” iyaakko gidayssa akeekidi daro yeekkis.
