Luke 21
1 As Jesus was observing the rich casting their gifts into the treasury,

2 he saw an indigent widow throw in two mites.
Vio a una viuda pobre que echaba dos moneditas de bronce.
3 And he said, I tell you, truly, that this poor widow has cast in more than any of them;
Y dijo: “En verdad os digo que esta viuda pobre ha echado más que todos ellos,
4 for all of these, out of their superfluous store, have thrown into the sacred chest, she has thrown in all the little that she had.
porque todos estos echan dones para Dios de su abundancia, pero ella, de su pobreza, echó todo lo que tenía para vivir.”
5 Some having remarked, that the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and presents, he said,
Mientras algunos hablaban del templo y de cómo estaba decorado con hermosas piedras y regalos, dijo:
6 The time will come, when these things which you behold, shall be razed that one stone will not be left upon another.
“En cuanto a estas cosas que veis, vendrán días en que no quedará aquí una piedra sobre otra que no sea derribada.”
7 Then they asked him, saying, Rabbi, when will these things be: and what will be the sign, when they are about to be accomplished?
Le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿cuándo ocurrirán estas cosas? ¿Cuál es la señal de que estas cosas van a suceder?”
8 He answered, Take care that you be not seduced: for many will assume my character, saying, I am the person, and the time approaches; therefore, do not follow them.
Dijo: “Tened cuidado de no dejaros llevar por el mal camino, porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: “Yo soy”, y “El tiempo está cerca”. Por tanto, no los sigáis.
9 But when you shall hear of wars and insurrections, be not terrified: for these things must first happen; but the end will not immediately follow.
Cuando oigáis hablar de guerras y disturbios, no os asustéis, porque es necesario que estas cosas sucedan primero, pero el fin no llegará inmediatamente.”
10 He added, Then will nation rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Entonces les dijo: “Se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino.
11 And there shall be great earthquakes in sundry places, and famines, and pestilences; there shall be also frightful appearances, and great prodigies in the sky.
Habrá grandes terremotos, hambres y plagas en varios lugares. Habrá terrores y grandes señales del cielo.
12 But, before all this, you shall be apprehended and prosecuted, and delivered to synagogues, and imprisoned, and dragged before kings and governors, because of my name:
Pero antes de todas estas cosas, os echarán mano y os perseguirán, entregándoos a las sinagogas y a las cárceles, llevándoos ante los reyes y los gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.
13 and this afford scope for your testimony.
Esto se convertirá en un testimonio para ustedes.
14 Be, therefore, resolved not to premeditate what defense you shall make;
Por tanto, no meditéis de antemano cómo responder,
15 for I will give you an utterance, and wisdom, which none of your adversaries shall be able to refute or resist.
porque yo os daré una boca y una sabiduría que todos vuestros adversarios no podrán resistir ni contradecir.
16 And you shall be given up even by parents, and brothers, and kinsmen, and friends; and some of you will be put to death.
Seréis entregados incluso por padres, hermanos, parientes y amigos. Harán que algunos de vosotros sean condenados a muerte.
17 And, on my account, you shall be universally hated.
Seréis odiados por todos los hombres por causa de mi nombre.
18 Yet not a hair of your head shall be lost.
Y no perecerá ni un pelo de vuestra cabeza.
19 Save your souls by your perseverance.
“Con vuestra perseverancia ganaréis vuestras vidas.
20 Now, when you shall see Jerusalem invested with armies, know that its desolation is nigh.
“Pero cuando vean a Jerusalén rodeada de ejércitos, sepan que su desolación está cerca.
21 Then let those in Judea flee to the mountains; let those in the city make their escape, and let not those in the country enter the city:
Entonces que los que estén en Judea huyan a las montañas. Que los que están en medio de ella se vayan. Que no entren en ella los que están en el campo.
22 for these will be days of vengeance, in which all the denunciations of the scriptures shall be accomplished.
Porque estos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.
23 But, alas, for the women with child, and for them who give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
¡Ay de las embarazadas y de las que amamantan en esos días! Porque habrá gran angustia en la tierra e ira para este pueblo.
24 They shall fall by the sword; they shall be carried captive into all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be over.
Caerán a filo de espada y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones. Jerusalén será pisoteada por los gentiles hasta que se cumplan los tiempos de los gentiles.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth, the anguish of desponding nations; and roarings in the seas, and floods;
“Habrá señales en el sol, la luna y las estrellas; y en la tierra ansiedad de las naciones, en la perplejidad por el rugido del mar y de las olas;
26 men expiring with the fear and apprehension of those things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
los hombres desmayando por el temor y la expectación de las cosas que vienen sobre el mundo, porque las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas.
27 Then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great glory and power.
Entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre venir en una nube con poder y gran gloria.
28 Now when these things begin to be fulfilled, look up, and lift up your heads; because your deliverance approaches.
Pero cuando estas cosas comiencen a suceder, miren y levanten la cabeza, porque su redención está cerca.”
29 He proposed to them, also, this comparison: Consider the fig tree, and the other trees.
Les contó una parábola. “Mirad la higuera y todos los árboles.
30 When you observe them shooting forth, you know, of yourselves, that the summer is nigh.
Cuando ya están brotando, lo veis y sabéis por vosotros mismos que el verano ya está cerca.
31 Know, in like manner, when you shall see these events, that the Reign of God is nigh.
Así también vosotros, cuando veáis que suceden estas cosas, sabed que el Reino de Dios está cerca.
32 Indeed, I say to you, that this race shall not fail until all be accomplished.
De cierto os digo que esta generación no pasará hasta que todo se haya cumplido.
33 Heaven and earth shall fail; but my words shall not fail.
El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.
34 Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, lest your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and worldly cares, and that day come upon you unawares: for, as a net,
“Así que tened cuidado, o vuestros corazones se cargarán de juergas, borracheras y preocupaciones de esta vida, y ese día os llegará de repente.
35 it shall inclose all the inhabitants of the earth.
Porque vendrá como un lazo sobre todos los que habitan en la superficie de toda la tierra.
36 Be vigilant, therefore, praying on every occasion, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these approaching evils, and to stand before the Son of Man.
Por tanto, velad en todo momento, orando para que seáis tenidos por dignos de escapar de todas estas cosas que van a suceder, y de estar en pie ante el Hijo del Hombre.”
37 Thus Jesus taught in the temple by day, but retired at night to the mountain, called the Mount of Olives.
Todos los días, Jesús enseñaba en el templo, y todas las noches salía a pasar la noche en el monte que se llama del Olivar.
38 And every morning the people resorted early to the temple to hear him.
Todo el pueblo acudía de madrugada a escucharle en el templo.
