< Luke 12 >

1 Meantime, while the crowd, in myriads flocked about him, so that they trod one upon another, he said, addressing himself to his disciples, Above all things, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Mu kiseera ekyo ekibiina ky’abantu bangi nnyo, ne bakuŋŋaana n’okulinnyaganako ne balinnyaganako. Awo Yesu n’akyukira abayigirizwa be, n’abalabula ng’agamba nti, “Mwekuume ekizimbulukusa bwe bannanfuusi bw’Abafalisaayo.
2 For there is nothing covered that shall not be detected: nothing secret that shall not be made known.
Tewali ekyakisibwa ekitalimanyibwa, newaakubadde ekyakwekebwa ekitalizuulibwa.
3 What you have spoken in the dark, shall be reported in the light; what you have whispered in the closet, shall be proclaimed from the housetop.
Noolwekyo bye mwogeredde mu kizikiza biriwulirwa mu musana, n’ebyo bye mwogedde mu kaama, nga muli mu kisenge n’enzigi nga nzigale, bigenda kulangirirwa ku busolya bw’ennyumba.
4 But I charge you, my friends, fear not them who kill the body, and after that can do no more;
“Kaakano mikwano gyange, temubatyanga abo abatta omubiri, naye ne batabaako kirala kye bayinza kukola.
5 but I will show you whom you ought to fear; fear him, who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell. I repeat it to you, Fear him. (Geenna g1067)
Naye nzija kubalaga gwe musaanidde okutya. Mutyenga oyo alina obuyinza okutta ate n’okusuula mu ggeyeena. Weewaawo mbagamba nti oyo gwe musaanye okutyanga. (Geenna g1067)
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God:
Enkazaluggya ettaano tezigula sente bbiri zokka? Naye Katonda tazeerabira wadde emu bw’eti.
7 yes, the very hairs of your head are all numbered: fear not, therefore; you are much more valuable than sparrows.
Era amanyi enviiri eziri ku mutwe gwo nga bwe zenkana obungi. Temutya kubanga mmwe muli ba muwendo nnyo okusinga enkazaluggya ennyingi.
8 Moreover, I say to you, whoever shall acknowledge me before me, him the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God;
“Era mbategeeza nti buli anjatula mu maaso g’abantu, n’Omwana w’Omuntu, alimwatula mu maaso ga bamalayika ba Katonda.
9 but whoever denies me before men, shall be disowned before the angels of God.
Naye oyo anneegaanira mu maaso g’abantu, n’Omwana w’Omuntu alimwegaanira mu maaso ga bamalayika ba Katonda.
10 And whosoever shall inveigh against the Son of Man, may obtain remission; but to him who detracts from the Holy Spirit, there is no remission.
Na buli muntu alyogera ekigambo ku Mwana w’Omuntu alisonyiyibwa, naye oyo alivvoola Mwoyo Mutukuvu tagenda kusonyiyibwa.
11 And when you are brought before synagogues, and magistrates, and rulers; be not solicitous how or what you shall answer, or what you shall say:
“Bwe banaabatwalanga mu makuŋŋaaniro, ne mu maaso g’abafuzi ne mu b’obuyinza temweraliikiriranga kye mulyogera mu kuwoza,
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that moment, what ought to be said.
kubanga Mwoyo Mutukuvu agenda kubawa eky’okwogera mu kiseera ekyo kyennyini.”
13 Then one said to him out of the crowd, Rabbi, order my brother to divide the inheritance with me.
Awo omuntu omu mu kibiina n’avaayo n’agamba Yesu nti, “Omuyigiriza, gamba muganda wange angabanyize ku by’obusika bwaffe.”
14 He answered, Man, who constituted me your judge or arbiter?
Naye Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Owange, ani eyanfuula omulamuzi wammwe oba ow’okubamaliranga empaka zammwe?”
15 And he said to them, Be upon your guard against covetousness; for in whatever affluence a man be, his life depends not on his possessions.
N’abagamba nti, “Mwekuume! Temululunkananga. Kubanga obulamu bw’omuntu tebugererwa ku bugagga bw’abeera nabwo.”
16 He also used this example, A certain rich man had lands which brought forth plentifully.
Awo n’abagerera olugero luno nti, “Waaliwo omusajja omugagga eyalina ennimiro n’abaza ebibala bingi.
17 And he reasoned thus with himself, What shall I do? for I have not where to store my crop.
N’alowooza munda mu ye ng’agamba nti, ‘Nnaakola ntya? Kubanga sirina we nnaakuŋŋaanyiza bibala byange?’
18 I will do this, added he; I will pull down my storehouses, and build larger, and there I will store all my produce, and my goods.
“Kwe kugamba nti, ‘Ntegedde kye nnaakola, nzija kumenyawo amawanika gange gano, nzimbewo agasingako obunene! Omwo mwe nnaakuŋŋaanyiza ebibala byange byonna n’ebintu byange.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast plenty of goods laid up for many years; take thin ease, eat, drink, enjoy thyself.
Era nzija kugamba emmeeme yange nti, “Emmeeme, weeterekedde bingi mu mawanika go okukuyisa mu myaka mingi egijja. Wummula, olye, onywe era weesanyuse!”’
20 But God said to him, Fool! this very night your soul is required of you. Whose, then, shall those things be, which you have provided?
“Naye Katonda n’amugamba nti, ‘Musirusiru ggwe! Ekiro kino emmeeme yo eneekuggibwako. Kale ebyo bye weetegekedde binaaba by’ani?’
21 So it fares with him who amasses treasure for himself, but is not rich toward God.
“Bwe kityo bwe kiriba eri buli muntu eyeeterekera, so nga mwavu eri Katonda.”
22 Then he said to his disciples, For this reason I charge you, be not anxious about your life, what you shall eat; nor about your body, what you shall wear.
Awo Yesu n’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Noolwekyo mbagamba nti, Temweraliikiriranga bya bulamu bwammwe oba mmere gye munaalya oba engoye ez’okwambala.
23 Life is a greater gift than food, and the body than clothing.
Kubanga omwoyo gusinga wala emmere n’omubiri gusinga ebyambalo.
24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap; have neither cellar nor barn; but God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than fowls?
Mulowooze ku namuŋŋoona, tezisiga so tezikungula, era tezirina na mawanika mwe zitereka mmere yaazo, naye Katonda aziriisa. Naye mmwe muli ba muwendo nnyo okukira ennyonyi ezo!
25 Besides, which of you can, by his anxiety, prolong his life one hour?
Ani ku mmwe bwe yeeraliikirira, ayinza okwongerayo obulamu bwe akatundu n’akamu?
26 If, therefore, you can not thus effect even the smallest thing, why are you anxious about the rest?
Obanga temusobola kukola kantu katono ng’ako, kale kikugasa ki okweraliikirira ebintu ebirala?
27 Consider the lilies. How do they grow? They toil not; they spin not; yet I affirm, that even Solomon, in all his glory, was not equally adorned with one of these.
“Mutunuulire amalanga bwe gakula! Tegategana wadde okulanga ewuzi z’engoye, naye mbategeeza nti ne Sulemaani mu kitiibwa kye kyonna teyagenkana mu kwambala.
28 If, then, God so array the herbage, which to-day is in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he array you, O you distrustful!
Kale, obanga Katonda ayambaza bw’atyo omuddo ogw’omu nsiko, ogw’ekiseera obuseera ogubaawo leero ate enkeera ne gwokebwa mu kyoto, naye ate talisingawo nnyo okwambaza mmwe ab’okukkiriza okutono!
29 Do not ask, therefore, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; live not in anxious suspense.
Temunoonyanga kye munaalya oba kye munaanywa, era temweraliikiriranga n’akatono.
30 For all these things the Pagans seeks; whereas, your Father knows that you need them.
Kubanga ebintu ebyo byonna amawanga ge biyaayaanira, naye Kitammwe amanyi nga mubyetaaga.
31 But seek you the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be superadded to you.
Naye munoonye obwakabaka bwe, n’ebintu ebyo mulibyongerwako.
32 Fear not, my little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom.
“Temutya, mmwe ekisibo ekitono, kubanga Kitammwe asiimye okubawa obwakabaka.
33 Sell your goods and give alms; provide yourselves purses which wear not out; treasure inexhaustible in heaven, where no thieves approach, where nothing is spoiled by worms.
Mutunde ebintu byammwe, ensimbi ze muggyamu muzigabire abo abeetaaga, mwetungire ensawo ezitakaddiwa era mweterekere mu ggulu mu tterekero eritaggwaamu bintu, omubbi gy’atasembera wadde ennyenje gye zitayonoonera.
34 For where your treasure is, your heart will likewise be.
Kubanga obugagga bwo gye buli, n’omutima gwo gye gunaabeeranga.
35 Let your loins be girt, and your lamps burning;
“Mube beetegefu olw’obuweereza, era mukuume ettabaaza zammwe nga zaaka.
36 and yourselves, like those who wait their master's return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately let him in.
Mube ng’abasajja abalindirira mukama waabwe; bw’akomawo okuva mu mbaga y’obugole, n’akonkona banguwa okumuggulirawo oluggi.
37 Happy those servants whom their master, at his return, shall find watching. Indeed, I say to you, that he will gird himself, and having placed them at table, will attend and serve them.
Balina omukisa abaddu abo, mukama waabwe baalisanga nga batunula. Ddala ddala mbagamba nti, agenda kwambala atuuze abaddu abo ku mmeeza abagabule.
38 And whether he comes in the second watch, or in the third, if he finds things thus, happy are those servants.
Balina omukisa abo, bw’alijja mu kisisimuka ekyokusatu, baalisanga nga batunula.
39 You are certain that if the master of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would watch, and not allow him to break into his house.
“Naye mutegeere kino: singa ssemaka amanya essaawa omubbi w’anaayingirira okumenya ennyumba ye, teyandiganyizza mubbi kumuyingirira.
40 Be you, then, always prepared; because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him.
Noolwekyo mubeere beetegefu. Kubanga Omwana w’Omuntu, ajjira mu kiseera kye mutamulowoolezaamu.”
41 Then Peter said to him, Master, is this parable directed to us alone, or to all?
Awo Peetero n’amubuuza nti, “Mukama waffe, olugero luno olugeredde ffe, oba bonna?”
42 The Lord said, Who, now, is the discreet and faithful steward, whom the master will set over his household, to dispense regularly the allowance of corn!
Mukama waffe n’addamu nti, “Omuweereza oyo omwesigwa era ow’amagezi ye aluwa mukama we gw’alikwasa obuvunaanyizibwa obw’okulabirira abaweereza be n’okugaba emmere mu kiseera ekituufu?
43 Happy that servant, if his master, at his arrival, shall find him so employed.
Alina omukisa mukama we bw’alikomawo gw’alisanga ng’atuukiriza bulungi emirimu gye.
44 I tell you truly, he will intrust him with the management of all his estate.
Ddala ddala mbagamba nti mukama we alimukwasa okulabirira ebintu bye byonna.
45 But as to the servant who shall say within himself, My master delays his return, and shall beat the men-servants and the maids, and shall feast, and carouse, and be drunken;
Naye singa omuddu oyo alowooza mu mutima gwe nti, ‘Mukama wange ajja kulwawo okudda,’ n’adda ku baweereza banne, n’abakuba, n’ebiseera bye n’abimala mu kulya ne mu kunywa ne mu kutamiira,
46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not expecting him, and at an hour of which he is not apprised, and having discarded him, will assign him his portion with the faithless.
mukama we agenda kudda mu kiseera ky’atamusuubira, amubonereze, era amusuule eyo abatakkiriza gye bali.
47 And that servant who knew his master's will, yet did not make himself ready, nor execute his orders, shall receive many stripes;
“Omuweereza oyo eyamanya mukama we by’ayagala akole, kyokka ye n’atabikola agenda kuweebwa ekibonerezo kinene.
48 whereas, he who knew not, but did things deserving chastisement, shall receive few: for much will be required of every one to whom much is given; and the more a man is intrusted, the more will be exacted from him.
Naye ataamanya n’akola ebisaanidde okumukubya alikubwa kitono. Oyo aweebwa ebingi alisuubirwamu bingi, n’oyo gwe basigira ebingi, alivunaanyizibwa bingi okusingawo.
49 I came to throw fire upon the earth; and what would I but that it were kindled?
“Najja kuleeta muliro ku nsi, era kyandibadde kirungi singa gukoledde!
50 I have an immersion to undergo; and how am I pained till it be accomplished?
Nninayo okubatizibwa kwe ndibatizibwa, naye nzija kuba mu nnaku nnyingi nga tekunnaba kutuukirizibwa!
51 Do you imagine that I am come to give peace to the earth? I tell you, No; but division.
Mulowooza nti najja kuleeta mirembe ku nsi? Mbategeeza nti sajja kuleeta mirembe wabula okwawukana.
52 For hereafter, five in one family will be divided; three against two, and two against three:
Okuva kaakano amaka gajjanga kwawukanamu, ag’abantu abataano, abasatu ku bo nga bawakanya ababiri, n’ababiri nga bawakanya abasatu.
53 father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.
Kitaawe w’omwana alyawukana ne mutabani we, n’omwana n’ayawukana ne kitaawe, ne nnyina w’omwana alyawukana ne muwala we n’omuwala n’ayawukana ne nnyina, ne nnyazaala balyawukana ne muka mwana we ne muka mwana n’ayawukana ne nnyazaala we.”
54 He said also to the people, When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, It will rain immediately, and so it happens;
Awo Yesu n’akyukira ekibiina n’abagamba nti, “Bwe mulaba ebire nga byekuluumulula ebugwanjuba, amangwago mugamba nti, ‘Enkuba egenda kutonnya,’ era n’etonnya.
55 and when the south wind blows, you say, It will be hot, and it happens accordingly.
Ate empewo bw’ekunta ng’eva ku bukiikaddyo, mugamba nti, ‘Leero akasana kajja kwaka nnyo,’ era bwe kiba.
56 Hypocrites, you can judge of what appears in the sky, and on the earth; how is it that you can not judge of the present time?
Bannanfuusi mmwe! Musobola bulungi okunnyonnyola obubonero obuli ku nsi ne mu bbanga, muyinza mutya obutamanya obubonero obw’omu kiseera kino?
57 and why do you not, even of yourselves, discern what is just?
“Lwaki temwesalirawo ekyo kye mulaba nga kituufu?
58 When you go with your creditor to the magistrate, endeavor, on the road, to satisfy him, lest he drag you before the judge, and the judge consign you to the sergeant, and the sergeant commit you to prison:
Bw’obanga ogenda n’akuwawaabira mu mbuga z’amateeka, gezaako okumusaba ensonga zammwe muzimalire mu kkubo nga tezinnatuuka wa mulamuzi, talwa kukutwala wa mulamuzi, n’omulamuzi n’akuwaayo eri omuserikale, n’omuserikale n’akusibira mu kkomera.
59 I assure you, you will not be released until you have paid the last mite.
Kubanga nkutegeeza nti togenda kuvaayo okutuusa nga ne sente esembayo omaze okugisasula.”
