John 15
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser.
YO soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el labrador.
2 Every barren branch in me, he lops off; every fruitful branch he cleans by pruning, to render it more fruitful.
Todo pámpano que en mí no lleva fruto, le quitará; y todo aquel que lleva fruto, le limpiará, para que lleve más fruto.
3 As for you, you are already clean, through the instructions I have given you.
Ya vosotros sois limpios por la palabra que os he hablado.
4 Abide in me, and I will abide in you; as the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, no more can you, unless you abide in me.
Estad en mí, y yo [estaré] en vosotros. Como el pámpano no puede llevar fruto de sí mismo, si no estuviere en la vid, así ni vosotros, si no estuviereis en mí.
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in me, and in whom I abide, produces much fruit; for, severed from me, you can do nothing.
Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos: el que está en mí, y yo en él, este lleva mucho fruto: (porque sin mí nada podeis hacer.)
6 If any man abide not in me, he is cast forth like withered branches, which are gathered for fuel, and burnt.
El que en mí no estuviere, será echado fuera como [mal] pámpano, y se secará: y los cogen, y [los] echan en el fuego, y arden.
7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you may ask what you will, and it shall be granted you.
Si estuviereis en mí, y mis palabras estuvieren en vosotros, todo lo que quisiereis pediréis, y os será hecho.
8 In this is my Father glorified, that you produce much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.
En esto es glorificado mi Padre, [en] que lleveis mucho fruto, y seais [así] mis discípulos.
9 As the Father loves me, so do I love you: continue in my love.
Como el Padre me amó, tambien yo os he amado: estad en mi amor.
10 If you keep my commandments, you shall continue in my love; as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love.
Si guardareis mis mandamientos, estaréis en mi amor; como yo tambien he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre, y estoy en su amor.
11 I give you these admonitions, that I may continue to have joy in you, and that your joy may be complete.
Estas cosas os he hablado, para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
12 This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I love you.
Este es mi mandamiento: Que os ameis los unos á los otros, como [yo] os he amado.
13 No man has greater love than this, to lay down his life for his friends.
Nadie tiene mayor amor que este, que ponga alguno su vida por sus amigos.
14 You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.
Vosotros sois mis amigos, si hiciereis las cosas que yo os mando.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his master will do: but I name you friends; for whatever I have learned from my Father, I impart to you.
Ya no os diré siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor: mas os he dicho amigos, porque todas las cosas que oí de mi Padre, os he hecho notorias.
16 It is not you who have chosen me; but it is I who have chosen you, and ordained you to go and bear fruit: fruit which will prove permanent, that the Father may give you whatsoever you shall ask him in my name.
No me elegisteis vosotros [á mí, ] mas yo os elegí á vosotros; y os he puesto para que vayais y lleveis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca: para que todo lo que pidiereis del Padre en mi nombre, [él] os lo dé.
17 This I command you, that you love one another.
Esto os mando: Que os ameis los unos á los otros.
18 If the world hate you, consider that it hated me, before it hated you.
Si el mundo os aborrece, sabed que á mí me aborreció ántes que á vosotros.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, I having selected you from the world, the world hates you.
Si fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaria lo suyo: mas porque no sois del mundo, ántes yo os elegí del mundo, por eso os aborrece el mundo.
20 Remember what I said to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours.
Acordáos de la palabra que yo os he dicho: No es el siervo mayor que su señor. Si á mí me han perseguido, tambien á vosotros perseguirán; si han guardado mi palabra, tambien guardarán la vuestra.
21 But all this treatment they will give you on my account, because they know not him who sent me.
Mas todo esto os harán por causa de mi nombre; porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.
22 If I had not come, and spoken to them, they had not had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Si no hubiera venido, ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrian pecado; mas ahora no tienen excusa de su pecado.
23 He that hates me, hates my Father also.
El que me aborrece, tambien á mi Padre aborrece.
24 If I had not done among them such works as none other ever did, they had not had sin; but now they have seen them, and yet hated both me and my Father.
Si no hubiese hecho entre ellos obras cuales ningun otro ha hecho, no tendrian pecado; mas ahora, y [las] han visto, y me aborrecen á mí, y á mi Padre.
25 Thus they verify that passage in their law, "They hated me without cause."
Mas para que se cumpla la palabra que está escrita en su ley: Que sin causa me aborrecieron.
26 But when the Advocate is come, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify concerning me.
Empero cuando viniere el Consolador, el cual yo os enviaré del Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre, él dará testimonio de mí.
27 And you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
Y vosotros daréis testimonio, porque estais conmigo desde el principio.
