< Hebrews 1 >

1 God, who in ancient times, spoke often, and in various ways, to the fathers, by the prophets,
God spoke to our fathers long ago at many times and in many ways through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son,
2 has, in these last days, spoken to us by a Son, whom he has constituted Lord of all things, by whom, also, he made the universe: (aiōn g165)
whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. (aiōn g165)
3 who, being in effulgence of his glory, and an exact representation of his character, and controlling all things by his own powerful word, after he had, by himself, made expiation for our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;
He is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his nature, sustaining all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for our sins by giving his own life, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in high places,
4 being exalted as far above the angels, as the name he has inherited, is more excellent than theirs.
having become as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
5 For, to which of the angels did he at any time say, "Thou art my Son: to-day I have begotten thee"? and again, "I will be his Father, and he shall be my Son"?
For to which of the angels did God ever say, “Yoʋ are my Son; today I have begotten yoʋ”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”?
6 But when he brings again the First-born into the world, he says, "Let all the angels of God worship him."
And again, when he brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.”
7 Whereas, concerning angels, he says, "Who makes winds his angels, and flaming fire his ministers."
Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire,”
8 But to the Son, "Thy throne, O God, endures for ever. The scepter of thy kingdom is a scepter of rectitude. (aiōn g165)
but of the Son he says, “Yoʋr throne, O God, endures forever and ever; the scepter of yoʋr kingdom is a scepter of uprightness. (aiōn g165)
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore, God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness, above thy associates."
Yoʋ have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, yoʋr God, has anointed yoʋ with the oil of gladness beyond yoʋr companions.”
10 And, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
And, “In the beginning yoʋ, O Lord, laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of yoʋr hands.
11 They shall perish, but thou dost remain; and they, as a garment, shall grow old;
They will perish, but yoʋ remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
12 and, as a vesture, thou wilt fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same; and they shall be changed; but thou art the same; and thy years shall never fail."
Yoʋ will roll them up like a robe, and they will be changed. But yoʋ remain the same, and yoʋr years will never come to an end.”
13 Moreover, to which of the angels did he say, at any time, "Sit thou at my right hand, till I make thy enemies thy footstool."
To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make yoʋr enemies a footstool for yoʋr feet”?
14 "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall inherit salvation?"
Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation?
