< 3 John 1 >

1 The elder, to Gaius, the beloved, whom I love in the truth.
Nze, Omukadde, mpandiikira ggwe Gayo omwagalwa, gwe njagala mu mazima.
2 Beloved, I pray, that with respect to all things, you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
Munnange omwagalwa, nkusabira okole bulungi ebintu byonna era obeere mulamu mu mubiri, nga bw’oli mu mwoyo.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came, and bore witness to your truth, even as you walk in truth.
Abooluganda bwe nabatuukako kya nsanyusa nnyo bwe bambuulira nti onyweredde mu mazima, era nti mw’otambulira.
4 I have no greater joy than that which I have when I hear my children are walking in truth.
Tewali kindeetera ssanyu lisinga ng’eryo lye nfuna bwe mpulira nti abaana bange batambulira mu mazima.
5 Beloved, you do faithfully what you perform for the brethren, and for the strangers.
Omwagalwa, okola ekintu kya bwesigwa buli lw’okolera abooluganda ebirungi na ddala ababeera ku ŋŋendo ne bw’oba tobamanyi.
6 These have borne testimony to your love, in the presence of the congregation; whom, if you help forward on their journey, in a manner worthy of God, you will do well.
Baategeeza Ekkanisa omukwano gwe wabalaga awamu ne bye wabakolera. Kibeera kirungi singa obasiibuza ekirabo ekiba kisaanidde.
7 Because for his name's sake, they went forth, receiving nothing from the Gentiles.
Kubanga baatambulira mu linnya lya Mukama, nga tebakkiriza ebyo abatali bakkiriza bye baabawanga.
8 We, therefore, ought to entertain such, that we may be joint laborers in the truth.
Noolwekyo ffe ffennyini, ffe tusaana okubalabirira tulyoke tufuuke bakozi bannaabwe mu mazima.
9 I wrote to the congregation: but Diotrephes, who affects a pre-eminence among them, does not receive us.
Nawandiikira Ekkanisa ku nsonga eyo, kyokka Diyotuleefe, olw’okwagala okwefuula omukulembeze tatwagala.
10 For this cause, when I come, I will bring his deeds to remembrance, which he practices--prating against us with malicious words; and, not content with this, he does not himself receive the brethren, and forbids them who would, and casts them out of the congregation.
Bwe ndijja ndibategeeza ebimu ku bintu by’akola, n’ebintu by’atwogerako ebitali birungi, era n’olulimi oluvuma lw’akozesa. Takoma ku kugaana kwaniriza abooluganda abatambuze kyokka, naye n’okulagira alagira abantu abalala nabo, baleme okubaaniriza era abo ababaaniriza agezaako okubagoba mu Kkanisa.
11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good, is of God; but he who does evil, has not seen God.
Mukwano gwange, togobereranga kyakulabirako ekibi wabula eby’obutuukirivu. Gobereranga ebyo byokka by’olaba nga bya butuukirivu. Kirungi ojjukirenga nti abo abakola eby’obutuukirivu baba bakakasiza ddala nga bwe bali abaana ba Katonda; naye abakola ebitali bya butuukirivu balaga nga bwe bali ewala ne Katonda.
12 Testimony is borne to Demetrius, by all, and by the truth itself; and we also bear testimony; and you know that our testimony is true.
Naye buli omu ayogera bya mazima ku Demeteriyo. Nange mwogerako bya mazima byereere. Naye omanyi nga nze njogera mazima.
13 I have many things to write; but I do not incline to write them to you with pen and ink:
Mbadde na bingi eby’okukugamba, kyokka saagala kubikuwandiikira mu bbaluwa,
14 for I hope immediately to see you, and so we shall speak face to face. Salute the friends by name.
kubanga nsuubira okukulaba mu bbanga ttono. Kale olwo tuliba na bingi eby’okwogerako ffembi nga tulabaganye amaaso n’amaaso. Emirembe gibeerenga naawe. Ab’emikwano abali wano bakulamusizza. Nange, mikwano gyange abali eyo, buli omu munnamusize.
