2 Corinthians 4
1 Wherefore, having this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not falter;
Ezért tehát, mivel ilyen szolgálatban vagyunk, és kegyelmet nyertünk, nem csüggedünk,
2 but have commanded away the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
hanem lemondunk a szégyenletes titkos bűnökről, nem járunk ravaszságban, és nem is hamisítjuk meg Isten igéjét, hanem nyíltan hirdetjük az igazságot, és rábízzuk magunkat minden ember lelkiismeretére, az Isten előtt.
3 If then, indeed, our gospel be vailed, it is vailed among the destroyed;
Ha mégis leplezett a mi evangéliumunk, csak azoknak leplezett, akik elvesznek,
4 among whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, might shine into them. (aiōn g165)
ezeknek a hitetleneknek gondolkodását e világ istene elvakította, hogy ne lássák Krisztusnak, Isten képének dicsőségéről szóló evangéliumnak világosságát. (aiōn g165)
5 Now, we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants, for Jesus' sake.
Mert nem magunkat prédikáljuk, hanem az Úr Jézus Krisztust, magunkat pedig, mint a ti szolgáitokat a Jézusért.
6 For God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shined into our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Mert Isten, aki szólt, hogy a sötétségből világosság ragyogjon, ő gyújtott világosságot a mi szívünkben, hogy fölragyogjon előttünk Isten dicsőségének ismerete Jézus Krisztus arcán.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power might be of God, and not of us.
Ez a kincsünk pedig cserépedényekben van, hogy az erőnek rendkívüli nagysága Istené legyen, és nem tőlünk való.
8 We are pressed on every side, but not straitened; perplexed, but not in despair;
Mindenütt szorongatnak, de el nem nyomnak. Kétségeskedünk, de nem esünk kétségbe.
9 persecuted, but not utterly forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
Üldöztetünk, de el nem hagyatunk. Tiportatunk, de el nem veszünk.
10 At all times carrying about in the body, the putting to death of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.
Mindenkor testünkben hordozzuk az Úr Jézus halálát, hogy Jézusnak élete is látható legyen a mi testünkben.
11 For we who live are always exposed to death for the sake of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Mert mi, akik élünk, mindenkor halálra adatunk Jézusért, hogy Jézus élete is látható legyen a mi halandó testünkben.
12 So that death works in us, but life in you.
A halál tehát bennünk munkálkodik, az élet pedig tibennetek.
13 Yet, having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed, therefore I have spoken"; we, also, believe, and therefore speak;
Mivel pedig a hitnek bennünk is ugyanaz a Lelke van, amint meg van írva: „Hittem és azért szóltam, “hiszünk mi is és azért szólunk.
14 knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus, will raise us up, also, by Jesus, and will present us with you.
Mert tudjuk, hogy aki feltámasztotta az Úr Jézust, Jézus által minket is feltámaszt, és veletek együtt maga elé állít.
15 For all these things are for your sakes; that the favor which has abounded to many, may, through the thanksgiving of the greater number, redound to the glory of God.
Mert minden értetek van, hogy a kegyelem sokasodjék, és egyre bőségesebben áradjon a hálaadás Isten dicsőségére.
16 Wherefore, we do not faint; but, though, indeed, out outward man is impaired, yet the inward man is renewed, day by day.
Azért nem csüggedünk, sőt ha a mi külső emberünk megromlik is, a belső mégis napról-napra megújul.
