1 Timothy 2
1 Now I exhort, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men;
எல்லாவற்றையும்விட முதலாவதாக, ஒவ்வொருவருக்காகவும் விண்ணப்பம் செய்யுங்கள்; மன்றாடுங்கள்; பரிந்துபேசுங்கள்; நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள். இதையே நான் உங்களிடம் வற்புறுத்திக் கேட்கிறேன்.
2 for kings, and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
அரசர்களுக்காகவும், அதிகாரத்தில் உள்ள எல்லோருக்காகவும் மன்றாடுங்கள். அப்பொழுதே நாம் இறை பக்தியும், பரிசுத்தமும் உள்ளவர்களாய் சமாதானமும் அமைதியும் உள்ள வாழ்வை வாழலாம்.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
இது நன்மையானதாகவும், நமது இரட்சகராகிய இறைவனுக்குப் பிரியமுமாயிருக்கிறது.
4 who wills all men to be saved, and to come to an acknowledgment of the truth.
அவர் எல்லா மனிதரும் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்றும், சத்தியத்தைப் பற்றிய அறிவை அடையவேண்டும் என்றும் இறைவன் விரும்புகிறார்.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, --the man Christ Jesus,
ஏனெனில் இறைவன் ஒருவரே. இறைவனுக்கும் மனிதருக்கும் இடையில் இருக்கும் நடுவரும் ஒருவரே. மனிதனாக வந்த கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவே அந்த நடுவர்.
6 who gave himself a ransom for all; --of which the testimony is in its proper season:
இயேசு எல்லா மனிதர்களையும் மீட்கும் பொருளாகத் தன்னையே ஒப்படைத்தார். இதுவே ஏற்றகாலத்தில் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சாட்சியம்.
7 for which I was appointed a herald and an Apostle, (I speak the truth, I do not falsify, ) a teacher to the Gentiles in faith and truth.
இந்த சாட்சியத்திற்காகவே நான் அறிவிப்பவனாகவும், அப்போஸ்தலனாகவும், அத்துடன் யூதரல்லாதவருக்கு விசுவாசத்தைக் போதிக்கும் உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசிரியனாகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டேன்; நான் பொய்யையல்ல, உண்மையைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
8 I will, therefore, that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputings.
எனவே எல்லா இடங்களிலும் உள்ள ஆண்கள் கோபம் கொள்ளாதவர்களாயும், வாக்குவாதம் செய்யாதவர்களாயும், பரிசுத்த கைகளை உயர்த்தி மன்றாட வேண்டும் என்று, நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.
9 I like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in decent apparel, with modesty and sobriety, not with plaited hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly raiment:
அவ்வாறு, பெண்கள் அடக்கமாய் உடை உடுத்தவேண்டும் என்று நான் விரும்புகிறேன். ஒழுக்கமான, தகுதியுடைய உடைகளையே உடுத்தவேண்டும். தலைமுடி அலங்காரத்தினாலோ, தங்கத்தினாலோ, முத்துக்களினாலோ, விலை உயர்ந்த உடைகளினாலோ தங்களை அலங்கரித்து அழகுபடுத்தாமல்,
10 but (which becomes women professing godliness, ) with good works.
இறைவனை ஆராதிக்கின்ற பெண்களுக்கேற்றபடி நல்ல செயல்களினால் தங்களை அலங்கரிக்கவேண்டும்.
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission:
ஒரு பெண் அமைதலுடனும் முழுமையான பணிவுடனும் இருந்து கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
12 for I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a man, but to be silent;
ஒரு பெண் போதிப்பதையோ, ஆணுக்கு மேலாக அதிகாரம் செலுத்துவதையோ, நான் அனுமதிப்பதில்லை. அவள் அமைதியாயிருக்க வேண்டும்.
13 for Adam was first formed, then Eve.
ஏனெனில் முதலாவது ஆதாமே உருவாக்கப்பட்டான். அதற்குப் பின்பே, ஏவாள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டாள்.
14 Besides, Adam was not deceived: but the woman, being deceived, was in transgression.
ஏமாற்றப்பட்டவன் ஆதாம் அல்ல; பெண்ணே ஏமாற்றப்பட்டு, பாவத்திற்கு இடம் கொடுத்தாள்.
15 However, she shall be saved through child-bearing, if they live in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
ஆனால் பெண்கள் விசுவாசத்திலும், அன்பிலும், பரிசுத்தத்திலும் நிலைத்திருந்தால், பிள்ளைப்பெறுவதினாலே அவர்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
