< Zechariah 7 >

1 And it comes to pass, in the fourth year of Darius the king, a word of YHWH has been to Zechariah, in the fourth of the ninth month, in Chisleu.
A I ka ha o ka makahiki o ke alii o Dariu, hiki mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia Zekaria, i ka po aha o ka iwa o ka malama, o Kiseleu;
2 And Beth-El sends Sherezer and Regem-Melech, and its men, to appease the face of YHWH,
I ka wa i hoouna mai ai lakou ia Serezera laua o Regemeleka, a me na kanaka o laua i ka hale o ke Akua, e pule imua o Iehova,
3 speaking to the priests who [are] at the house of YHWH of Hosts, and to the prophets, saying, “Do I weep in the fifth month—being separated—as I have done these so many years?”
A e ninau aku i na kahuna o ka hale o Iehova o na kaua, a i na kaula, penei, E kanikau anei au i ka lima o ka malama e hookeai ana, me ka'u i hana'i i keia mau makahiki he nui?
4 And there is a word of YHWH of Hosts to me, saying,
Alaila, hiki mai la ka olelo a Iehova o na kaua ia'u, i ka i ana mai,
5 “Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying,
E hai aku oe i keia mau mea i na kanaka a pau o ka aina, a i na kahuna hoi, penei, Ia oukou i hokeai ai a i kanikau ai i ka lima a me ka hiku o ka malama, a pau kela mau makahiki he kanahiku, i hookeai iki anei oukou no'u?
6 When you fasted with mourning in the fifth and in the seventh [months]—even these seventy years—did you keep the fast [to] Me? And when you eat, and when you drink, is it not you who are eating, and you who are drinking?
A ia oukou i ai ai, a i inu ai hoi, aole anei oukou i ai no oukou iho? a i ko oukou inu ana, aole anei oukou i inu no oukou iho?
7 Are [these] not the words that YHWH proclaimed by the hand of the former prophets, in Jerusalem’s being inhabited, and [in] safety, and its cities around it, and the south and the plain—abiding?”
Aole anei keia na olelo a Iehova i hea mai ai ma na kaula mua, i ka wa i nohoia'i o Ierusalema me ka maluhia, a me na kulanakauhale ona e kokoke ana, i ka wa i noho ai na kanaka ma ka aoao hema a ma ka papu?
8 And there is a word of YHWH to Zechariah, saying,
A hiki mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia Zekaria, i mai la,
9 “Thus spoke YHWH of Hosts, saying, Judge [with] true judgment, And do kindness and mercy with one another.
Penei ka Iehova o na kaua e olelo mai nei, E hoopono oukou, a e hoomaopopo kela kanaka keia kanaka i ka lokomaikai a me ko aloha i kona hoahanau.
10 And do not oppress widow, and fatherless, Sojourner, and poor, And you do not devise the calamity of one another in your heart.
Mai hana ino i ka wahinekanemake, aole hoi i ke keiki makua ole, aole i ka malihini, aole hoi i ka ilihune, aole hoi e manao ino aku ka naau o kekahi i kona hoahanau.
11 And they refuse to attend, And they give a stubborn shoulder, And their ears are made heavy against hearing.
Aka, hoole lakou i ka hoolohe, a haawi i ka poohiwi kipi a papani ae la i ua pepeiao o lakou, i lohe ole ai lakou.
12 And their heart they have made adamant, Against hearing the Law, and the words, That YHWH of Hosts sent by His Spirit, By the hand of the former prophets, And there is great wrath from YHWH of Hosts.
13 And it comes to pass, as He called, And they have not listened, So they call, and I do not listen,” said YHWH of Hosts.
No ia mea, me ka lakou i hoolohe ole ai ia e kahea aku ana, pela hoi lakou i kahea mai ai, aole hoi au i hoolohe aku, wahi a Iehova o na kaua.
14 “And I toss them on all the nations, That they have not known, The land has been desolate behind them, Of any passing by and turning back, And they set a desirable land for a desolation!”
Aka, hoopuehu aku la au ia lakou iwaena o na lahuikanaka a pau a lakou i ike ole ai; a ua neoneo ka aina mahope o lakou, i hiki ole ai i kekahi e hele ilaila, aole hoi e hoi ae: no ka mea, ua hooneoneoia ka aina maikai.
