Zechariah 5

1 And I turn back, and lift up my eyes, and look, and behold, a flying scroll.

Et de nouveau je levai mes yeux, et je vis; et voici un rouleau qui volait.

2 And he says to me, “What are you seeing?” And I say, “I am seeing a flying scroll, its length [is] twenty by the cubit, and its breadth [is] ten by the cubit.”

Et il me dit: Que vois-tu? Et je dis: Je vois un rouleau qui vole, long de 20 coudées, et large de dix coudées.

3 And he says to me, “This [is] the execration that is going forth over the face of all the land, for everyone who is stealing, on the one side, according to it, has been declared innocent, and everyone who has sworn, on the other side, according to it, has been declared innocent.”

Et il me dit: C’est ici la malédiction qui sort sur la face de toute la terre; car tout voleur sera détruit, selon ce [qui est écrit], d’une part; et chacun qui jure sera détruit, selon ce [qui est écrit], de l’autre part.

4 “I have brought it out,” a declaration of YHWH of Hosts, “and it has come into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who has sworn in My Name with a falsehood, and it has remained in the midst of his house, and has consumed it, both its wood and its stones.”

Je la fais sortir, dit l’Éternel des armées, et elle entrera dans la maison du voleur, et dans la maison de celui qui jure faussement par mon nom; et elle logera au milieu de sa maison et la consumera avec le bois et les pierres.

5 And the messenger who is speaking with me goes forth and says to me, “Now lift up your eyes, and [do you] see what this [is] that is coming forth?”

Et l’ange qui parlait avec moi sortit et me dit: Lève tes yeux et regarde: Qu’est-ce qui sort là?

6 And I say, “What [is] it?” And he says, “This—the ephah that is coming forth.” And he says, “This [is] their aspect in all the land.

Et je dis: Qu’est-ce? Et il dit: C’est l’épha qui sort. Et il dit: C’est ici leur aspect dans toute la terre.

7 And behold, a disc of lead lifted up; and this [is] a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah.”

Et voici, un disque de plomb fut soulevé: et il y avait là une femme assise au milieu de l’épha.

8 And he says, “This [is] the wicked woman.” And he casts her into the midst of the ephah, and casts the weight of lead on its mouth.

Et il dit: C’est la méchanceté. Et il la jeta au milieu de l’épha, et il jeta le poids de plomb sur l’ouverture.

9 And I lift up my eyes, and see, and behold, two women are coming forth, and wind [is] in their wings; and they have wings like wings of the stork, and they lift up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

Et je levai mes yeux, et je vis; et voici, deux femmes sortirent, et le vent était dans leurs ailes, et elles avaient des ailes comme des ailes de cigogne, et elles soulevèrent l’épha entre la terre et les cieux.

10 And I say to the messenger who is speaking with me, “To where [are] they causing the ephah to go?”

Et je dis à l’ange qui parlait avec moi: Où celles-ci emportent-elles l’épha?

11 And he says to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar.” And it has been prepared and has been placed there on its base.

Et il me dit: Pour lui bâtir une maison dans le pays de Shinhar; et là elle sera fixée et posée sur sa base.
