< Zechariah 4 >
1 And the messenger who is speaking with me turns back, and stirs me up as one who is stirred up out of his sleep,
Pea naʻe toe haʻu ʻae ʻāngelo naʻa ma talanoa mo au, ʻo ne fafangu au, ʻo hangē ko e fafangu ha taha ʻoku mohe.
2 and he says to me, “What are you seeing?” And I say, “I have looked, and behold, a lampstand of gold—all of it, and its bowl [is] on its top, and its seven lamps [are] on it, and twice seven pipes [are] to the lights that [are] on its top,
Pea naʻa ne pehē kiate au, “Ko e hā ʻoku ke sio ki ai?” Pea naʻaku pehē ʻeau, “Kuo u sio, pea vakai, ko e tuʻunga maama ko e koula haohaoa pe, mo e ʻaiʻanga lolo ʻi ʻolunga, mo hono tuʻunga maama ʻe fitu ʻi ai, mo e tafeʻanga lolo ʻe fitu ki he tuʻunga maama ʻe fitu, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi hono potu ki ʻolunga:
3 and two olive-trees [are] by it, one on the right of the bowl and one on its left.”
Pea ʻoku tuʻu vāofi mo ia ʻae ongo ʻakau ko e ʻolive, ko e taha ʻi he potu toʻomataʻu ʻoe ʻaiʻanga lolo, pea ko e taha ʻi hono potu fakatoʻohema.”
4 And I answer and speak to the messenger who is speaking with me, saying, “What [are] these, my lord?”
Ko ia ne u pehēange ai ki he ʻāngelo naʻa ma talanoa mo au, “ʻE hoku ʻeiki ko e hā ʻena?”
5 And the messenger who is speaking with me answers and says to me, “Have you not known what these [are]?” And I say, “No, my lord.”
Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe he ʻāngelo naʻa ma talanoa mo au, “ʻOku ʻikai te ke ʻilo pe ko e hā ʻae ngaahi meʻa na?” Pea naʻaku pehē, “ʻE hoku ʻeiki, ʻoku ʻikai.”
6 And he answers and speaks to me, saying, “This [is] a word of YHWH to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by a force, nor by power, But—by My Spirit, said YHWH of Hosts.
Pea toki tali mai ʻe ia ʻo ne pehē kiate au, “Ko eni ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kia Selupepeli, ʻo pehē, ‘ʻOku ʻikai ko ha meʻa ʻi ha kau tau pe ʻi ha mālohi, ka ʻi hoku Laumālie ʻoʻoku, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.’”
7 Who [are] you, O great mountain Before Zerubbabel—for a plain! And he has brought forth the top-stone, Cries of Grace, grace—[are] to it.”
Ko hai koe, ʻE moʻunga māʻolunga? ʻE fakalafalafa hifo koe ʻi he ʻao ʻo Selupepeli: pea ʻe ʻomi ʻe ia ʻae maka tauʻolunga ki ai ʻi he mavava mo e kalanga, ʻo pehē, “Ke ʻi ai ʻae ʻaloʻofa, ke ʻi ai ʻae ʻaloʻofa.”
8 And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
Naʻe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
9 “Hands of Zerubbabel founded this house, And his hands finish it, And you have known that YHWH of Hosts Has sent Me to you.
“Kuo ʻai ʻae tuʻunga ʻoe fale ni ʻe he nima ʻo Selupepeli; pea ʻe fakaʻosi ia foki ʻe hono nima ʻoʻona, pea te mou ʻilo kuo fekau mai au ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.”
10 For who trampled on the day of small things, They have rejoiced, And seen the tin weight in the hand of Zerubbabel, These seven [are] the eyes of YHWH, They are going to and fro in all the land.”
He ko hai kuo ne manuki ki he ʻaho ʻoe meʻa siʻi? He te nau fiefia, mo mamata ki he fua fakatonutonu ʻi he nima ʻo Selupepeli. Pea ko e toko fitu na ko e foʻi fofonga ia ʻe fitu ʻo Sihova, ʻaia ʻoku feʻaluʻaki fano ʻi māmani kotoa pē.
11 And I answer and say to him, “What [are] these two olive-trees, on the right of the lampstand, and on its left?”
Pea naʻaku pehēange ai ʻeau kiate ia, “Ko e hā ʻae ongo ʻakau ʻolive, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he toʻomataʻu ʻoe tuʻunga maama, pea mo hono toʻohema ʻo ia?”
12 And I answer a second time, and say to him, “What [are] the two branches of the olive trees that, by means of the two golden pipes, are emptying out of themselves the oil?”
Pea naʻaku toe pehēange ki ai, “Ko e hā ʻae ongo vaʻa ʻolive ʻena, ʻaia ʻoku lilingi atu mei ai ʻae lolo, ʻi hono tafeʻanga koula ʻe ua?”
13 And he speaks to me, saying, “Have you not known what these [are]?” And I say, “No, my lord.”
Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe ia kiate au, “ʻOku ʻikai te ke ʻilo pe ko e hā ʻae ngaahi meʻa na?” Pea ne u pehē, “ʻA hoku ʻeiki ʻoku ʻikai.”
14 And he says, “These [are] the two sons of the oil, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.”
Pea ne toki pehē mai ʻe ia, “Ko e toko ua ʻena kuo pani pea ʻoku na tutuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ʻo māmani kotoa pē.”
