Zechariah 12

1 The burden of a word of YHWH on Israel. A declaration of YHWH, Stretching out the heavens, and founding earth, And forming the spirit of man in his midst:

Oracolo, parola dell’Eterno, riguardo a Israele. Parola dell’Eterno che ha disteso i cieli e fondata la terra, e che ha formato lo spirito dell’uomo dentro di lui:

2 “Behold, I am making Jerusalem a cup of reeling To all the surrounding peoples, And it is also against Judah, In the siege against Jerusalem.

Ecco, io farò di Gerusalemme una coppa di stordimento per tutti i popoli all’intorno; e questo concernerà anche Giuda, quando si cingerà d’assedio Gerusalemme.

3 And it has come to pass in that day, I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone to all the peoples, All loading it are completely pressed down, And gathered against it have been all nations of the earth.

E in quel giorno avverrà che io farò di Gerusalemme una pietra pesante per tutti i popoli; tutti quelli che se la caricheranno addosso ne saranno malamente feriti, e tutte le nazioni della terra s’aduneranno contro di lei.

4 In that day,” a declaration of YHWH, “I strike every horse with astonishment, And its rider with madness, And on the house of Judah I open My eyes, And every horse of the peoples I strike with blindness.

In quel giorno, dice l’Eterno, io colpirò di smarrimento tutti i cavalli, e di delirio quelli che li montano; io aprirò i miei occhi sulla casa di Giuda, ma colpirò di cecità tutti i cavalli dei popoli.

5 And leaders of Judah have said in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem [are] strength to me, In YHWH of Hosts their God.

E i capi di Giuda diranno in cuor loro: “Gli abitanti di Gerusalemme son la mia forza nell’Eterno degli eserciti, loro Dio”.

6 In that day I make the leaders of Judah As a hearth of fire among trees, And as a torch of fire in a sheaf, And they have consumed—on the right and on the left—all the surrounding peoples, And Jerusalem has again inhabited her place in Jerusalem.

In quel giorno, io renderò i capi di Giuda come un braciere ardente in mezzo a delle legna, come una torcia accesa in mezzo a dei covoni; essi divoreranno a destra e a sinistra tutti i popoli d’ogn’intorno; e Gerusalemme sarà ancora abitata nel suo proprio luogo, a Gerusalemme.

7 And YHWH has saved the tents of Judah first, So that the beauty of the house of David does not become great against Judah, And the beauty of the inhabitant of Jerusalem.

L’Eterno salverà prima le tende di Giuda, perché la gloria della casa di Davide e la gloria degli abitanti di Gerusalemme non s’innalzi al disopra di Giuda.

8 In that day YHWH covers over the inhabitant of Jerusalem, And the stumbling among them has been in that day as David, And the house of David as God—As the Messenger of YHWH—before them.

In quel giorno l’Eterno proteggerà gli abitanti di Gerusalemme; e colui che fra loro vacilla sarà in quel giorno come Davide, e la casa di Davide sarà come Dio, come l’angelo dell’Eterno davanti a loro.

9 And it has come to pass in that day, I seek to destroy all the nations Who are coming in against Jerusalem,

E in quel giorno avverrà che io avrò cura di distruggere tutte le nazioni che verranno contro Gerusalemme.

10 And I have poured on the house of David, And on the inhabitant of Jerusalem, The Spirit of grace and supplications, And they have looked to Me whom they pierced, And they have mourned over Him, Like a mourning over the only one, And they have been in bitterness for Him, Like a bitterness over the firstborn.

E spanderò sulla casa di Davide e sugli abitanti di Gerusalemme lo spirito di grazia e di supplicazione; ed essi riguarderanno a me, a colui ch’essi hanno trafitto, e ne faran cordoglio come si fa cordoglio per un figliuolo unico, e lo piangeranno amaramente come si piange amaramente un primogenito.

11 In that day, great is the mourning of Jerusalem, As the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the Valley of Megiddon,

In quel giorno vi sarà un gran lutto in Gerusalemme, pari al lutto di Hadadrimmon nella valle di Meghiddon.

12 And the land has mourned—every family apart, The family of the house of David apart, And their women apart; The family of the house of Nathan apart, And their women apart;

E il paese farà cordoglio, ogni famiglia da sé; la famiglia della casa di Davide da sé, e le loro mogli da sé; la famiglia della casa di Nathan da sé, e le loro mogli da sé;

13 The family of the house of Levi apart, And their women apart; The family of Shimei apart, And their women apart,

la famiglia della casa di Levi da sé, le loro mogli da sé; la famiglia degli Scimeiti da sé, e le loro mogli da sé;

14 All the families that are left, Every family apart, and their women apart!”

tutte le famiglie rimaste ognuna da sé, e le mogli da sé.
