Ruth 4
1 And Boaz has gone up to the gate, and sits there, and behold, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he says, “Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one”; and he turns aside and sits down.
૧હવે બોઆઝ દરવાજા સુધી ગયો અને ત્યાં બેઠો. થોડી જ વારમાં, જે છોડાવનાર સંબંધી વિષે બોઆઝે વાત કરી હતી તે ત્યાં આવ્યો. બોઆઝે તેને કહ્યું, “અહીં આવીને બેસ.” અને તે ત્યાં આવીને બેઠો.
2 And he takes ten men from [the] elderly of the city, and says, “Sit down here”; and they sit down.
૨અને તેણે નગરના વડીલોમાંથી દસ માણસો બોલાવીને કહ્યું, “અહીંયાં બેસો.” અને તેઓ બેઠા.
3 And he says to the redeemer, “A portion of the field which [is] to our brother, to Elimelech, has Naomi sold, who has come back from the fields of Moab;
૩ત્યારે તેણે પેલા નજીકના સંબંધીને કહ્યું કે, “નાઓમી, જે મોઆબ દેશમાંથી પાછી આવી છે, તે આપણા ભાઈ અલીમેલેખવાળી જમીનનો ભાગ વેચી રહી છે.
4 and I said, I uncover your ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants and before [the] elderly of my people; if you redeem—redeem, and if none redeems—declare [it] to me and I know, for there is none except you to redeem, and I after you.” And he says, “I redeem [it].”
૪તેથી મેં વિચાર્યું કે તને જાણ કરું; સાંભળ ‘અહિયાં બેઠેલા છે તેઓ તથા મારા લોકોના વડીલોની સમક્ષ, તું તે ખરીદી લે. ‘જો તે છોડાવવાની તારી ઇચ્છા હોય, તો છોડાવી લે. પણ જો તે છોડાવવાની તારી મરજી ના હોય તો પછી મને કહે, કે જેથી મને ખ્યાલ આવે, કેમ કે તે છોડાવવાનો સૌથી પ્રથમ હક તારો છે. તારા પછી હું તેનો હકદાર છું.” ત્યારે તેણે જણાવ્યું કે, “હું તે છોડાવીશ.”
5 And Boaz says, “In the day of your buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, you have bought [it], to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.”
૫પછી બોઆઝે કહ્યું કે, “નાઓમીની પાસેથી એ ખેતર જે દિવસે તું ખરીદે, તે જ દિવસે તારે મૃત્યુ પામેલા માહલોનની પત્ની, મોઆબી રૂથની સાથે લગ્ન કરવું પડશે જેથી કરીને તેના વારસા પર તું મરનારનું નામ ઊભું કરે.”
6 And the redeemer says, “I am not able to redeem [it] for myself, lest I destroy my inheritance; redeem for yourself—you—my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.”
૬ત્યારે નજીકના સંબંધીએ કહ્યું કે, “મારા પોતાના ઉત્તરાધિકારીને હાનિ કર્યા સિવાય હું મારા માટે તે છોડાવી શકાશે નહિ. તેથી હવે તે જમીન છોડાવવાં માટે તું હકદાર થા; કેમ કે મારાથી તે છોડાવી શકાય તેમ નથી.”
7 And this [is] formerly in Israel for redemption and for exchanging, to establish anything: a man has drawn off his sandal, and given [it] to his neighbor, and this [is] the Testimony in Israel.
૭હવે પ્રાચીન કાળમાં ઇઝરાયલમાં આવી રીતે છોડાવાનો તથા વેચવા સાટવાનો એવો રિવાજ હતો કે બધી બાબતોની ખાતરી કરવા, માણસ પોતાનું પગરખું કાઢીને તે પોતાના પડોશીને આપતો; અને ઇઝરાયલમાં કાયદાકીય કરાર કરવાની આ રીત હતી.
8 And the redeemer says to Boaz, “Buy [it] for yourself,” and draws off his sandal.
૮તેથી પેલા નજીકના સંબંધીએ બોઆઝને કહ્યું, “તારે પોતાને માટે તે ખરીદી લે. “અને તેણે પોતાના પગરખાં ઉતાર્યા.
9 And Boaz says to the elderly, and [to] all the people, “You [are] witnesses today that I have bought all that [belonged] to Elimelech, and all that [belonged] to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;
૯બોઆઝે વડીલોને તથા સર્વ લોકોને કહ્યું, “આ દિવસના તમે સાક્ષી છો કે અલીમેલેખની, કિલ્યોનની તથા માહલોનની જે સંપત્તિ હતી તે બધી મેં નાઓમી પાસેથી ખરીદી છે.
10 and also Ruth the Moabitess, wife of Mahlon, I have bought to myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance; and the name of the dead is not cut off from among his brothers, and from the gate of his place; witnesses you [are] today.”
૧૦વળી મૃત્યુ પામેલાંના વારસા ઉપર તેનું નામ જળવાઈ રહે તે માટે માહલોનની પત્ની એટલે મોઆબી રૂથને મેં મારી પત્ની થવા સારું સ્વીકારી છે. જેથી મૃત્યુ પામેલાંનું નામ, તેના ભાઈઓ તથા તેના સ્થાનમાંથી નષ્ટ ન થાય. આજે તમે તેના સાક્ષીઓ છો.”
11 And all the people who [are] in the gate say—also the elderly, “Witnesses! YHWH makes the woman who is coming to your house as Rachel and as Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and you do virtuously in Ephrathah, and proclaim the name in Beth-Lehem;
૧૧દરવાજા આગળ જે લોકો તથા વડીલો હતા તેઓ બધાએ કહ્યું, “અમે સાક્ષીઓ છીએ. ઈશ્વર એવું કરે કે જે સ્ત્રી તારા ઘરમાં આવી છે તે, રાહેલ તથા લેઆ એ બન્નેએ ઇઝરાયલનું ઘર બાંધ્યું, તેઓના જેવી થાય. તું એફ્રાથામાં આબાદ અને બેથલેહેમમાં માનપાત્ર થા.
12 and let your house be as the house of Perez (whom Tamar bore to Judah), of the seed which YHWH gives to you of this young woman.”
૧૨આ જુવાન સ્ત્રીથી ઈશ્વર તને જે સંતાન આપશે, તેથી તારું ઘર યહૂદિયાથી તામારને પેટે થયેલા પેરેસના ઘર જેવું થાઓ.”
13 And Boaz takes Ruth, and she becomes his wife, and he goes in to her, and YHWH gives conception to her, and she bears a son.
૧૩બોઆઝે રૂથની સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા. તે તેની પત્ની થઈ. ઈશ્વરની કૃપાથી તે સગર્ભા થઈ. તેણે પુત્રને જન્મ આપ્યો.
14 And the women say to Naomi, “Blessed [is] YHWH who has not let a redeemer cease to you today, and his name is proclaimed in Israel,
૧૪સ્ત્રીઓએ નાઓમીને કહ્યું, ‘ઈશ્વરનો આભાર હો અને તેમનું નામ ઇઝરાયલમાં પ્રસિદ્ધ થાઓ, તેમણે તને નજીકના સંબંધી વગરની રહેવા દીધી નથી.
15 and he has been to you for a restorer of life, and for a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who has loved you—who is better to you than seven sons—has borne him.”
૧૫તે તારા જીવનમાં ફરીથી આનંદ ઉપજાવશે અને વૃદ્ધાવસ્થામાં તારું જતન કરશે; કેમ કે તારી પુત્રવધૂ જે તને પ્રેમ કરે છે, જે તને સાત દીકરાઓ કરતાં પણ વિશેષ છે, તેણે દીકરાને જન્મ આપ્યો છે.’”
16 And Naomi takes the boy, and lays him in her bosom, and is to him for a nurse;
૧૬નાઓમીએ તે બાળકને પોતાના ખોળામાં સુવાડ્યો અને તેનું જતન કર્યું.
17 and the neighboring women give a name to him, saying, “There has been a son born to Naomi,” and they call his name Obed; he [is] father of Jesse, father of David.
૧૭અને “નાઓમીને દીકરો જનમ્યો છે” એવું કહીને તેની પડોશી સ્ત્રીઓએ તેનું નામ ઓબેદ પાડયું; તે દાઉદના પિતા યિશાઈનો પિતા થયો.
18 And these are generations of Perez: Perez begot Hezron,
૧૮હવે પેરેસની વંશાવળી આ પ્રમાણે છે; પેરેસ, તે હેસ્રોનનો પિતા હતો;
19 and Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminidab,
૧૯હેસ્રોન, તે રામનો પિતા હતો, રામ, તે આમ્મીનાદાબનો પિતા હતો,
20 and Amminidab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon,
૨૦આમ્મીનાદાબ, તે નાહશોનનો પિતા હતો, નાહશોન, તે સલ્મોનનો પિતા હતો;
21 and Salmon begot Boaz, and Boaz begot Obed,
૨૧સલ્મોન, તે બોઆઝનો પિતા હતો, બોઆઝ, તે ઓબેદનો પિતા હતો,
22 and Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David.
૨૨ઓબેદ, તે યિશાઈનો પિતા હતો અને યિશાઈ, તે દાઉદનો પિતા હતો.
