Ruth 3
1 And her mother-in-law Naomi says to her, “My daughter, do I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
Darauf sprach ihre Schwiegermutter Noëmi zu ihr: "Meine Tochter! Ich will dir eine Heimat schaffen, die dir gefällt.
2 And now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women you have been? Behold, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley tonight,
Nun, ist denn Boaz nicht mit uns verwandt, bei dessen Mädchen du gewesen? Er worfelt heute nacht die Gerstentenne.
3 and you have bathed, and anointed yourself, and put your garments on you, and gone down to the threshing-floor; do not let yourself be known to the man until he completes to eat and to drink;
So wasche dich und salbe dich! Leg deine Kleider an und geh hinab zur Tenne! Doch gib dich nicht dem Manne zu erkennen, bis er mit Essen und mit Trinken fertig ist!
4 and it comes to pass, when he lies down, that you have known the place where he lies down, and have gone in, and uncovered his feet, and lain down—and he declares to you that which you do.”
Wenn er sich niederlegt, dann merke dir den Ort, wo er sich niederlegt! Geh hin! Deck dann den Platz zu seinen Füßen auf und lege dich dort nieder! Er wird dir sagen, was du tun sollst."
5 And she says to her, “All that you say—I do.”
Da sagte sie zu ihr: "Was immer du mir sagst, das will ich tun."
6 And she goes down [to] the threshing-floor, and does according to all that her mother-in-law commanded her
Sie ging zur Tenne und tat, wie ihre Schwiegermutter sie geheißen.
7 And Boaz eats and drinks, and his heart is glad; and he goes in to lie down at the end of the heap; and she comes in gently, and uncovers his feet, and lies down.
Und Boaz aß und trank und wurde guter Dinge. Dann ging er hin, sich hinter den Getreidehaufen hinzulegen. Sie aber ging ganz leise herzu und deckte nun den Platz zu seinen Füßen auf und legte sich hier nieder.
8 And it comes to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembles, and turns himself, and behold, a woman is lying at his feet.
Und da geschah es um Mitternacht. Der Mann fuhr voller Schrecken auf, und als er tastete, da lag das Weib an seinem Fußende.
9 And he says, “Who [are] you?” And she says, “I [am] Ruth your handmaid, and you have spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you [are] a redeemer.”
Er sprach: "Wer bist denn du?" Da sagte sie: "Ruth, deine Magd! Heirate deine Magd! Du bist verwandt."
10 And he says, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH, my daughter; you have dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning—not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.
Er sprach: "Gesegnet seist du, meine Tochter, von dem Herrn! Du hast später deine Liebe schöner noch gezeigt als je zuvor. Du liefst nicht jungen Männern nach, ob arm, ob reich.
11 And now, my daughter, do not fear, all that you say I do to you, for all the gate of my people knows that you [are] a virtuous woman.
Nun, -eine Tochter, sei getrost! Ich werde ganz nach deinen Worten an dir tun. Denn jede Sippe meines Volkes weiß: Du bist ein wackeres Weib.
12 And now, surely, true, that I [am] a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.
Nun ist es so: Ich bin verwandt. Doch gibt es einen, der noch näher ist verwandt als ich.
13 Lodge tonight, and it has been in the morning, if he redeems you, well: he redeems; and if he does not delight to redeem you, then I have redeemed you—I; YHWH lives! Lie down until the morning.”
Bleib diese Nacht nur hier! Freit er dich morgen, gut! So mag er freien. Doch hat er keine Lust dazu, so will, so wahr der Herr lebt, ich dich freien. Jetzt schlafe bis zum Morgen!"
14 And she lies down at his feet until the morning, and rises before one discerns another; and he says, “Let it not be known that the woman has come into the floor.”
So lag sie bis zum Morgen früh an seinem Fußende. Alsdann erhob sie sich, bevor noch irgendwer den anderen erkennen konnte. Sie sprach: "Nicht ruchbar werde es, daß auf die Tenne hier ein Weib gekommen ist."
15 And he says, “Give the covering which [is] on you, and keep hold on it”; and she keeps hold on it, and he measures six [measures] of barley, and lays [it] on her; and he goes into the city.
Da sagte er: "So nimm den Überwurf, den du da trägst, und halte ihn her!" Sie hielt ihn hin. Da maß er sechs Maß Gerste ab und lud es ihr auf. So kam sie in die Stadt.
16 And she comes to her mother-in-law, and she says, “Who [are] you, my daughter?” And she declares to her all that the man has done to her.
Sie kam zu ihrer Schwiegermutter, und diese fragte: "Wie steht's mit dir, du meine Tochter?" Und sie erzählte ihr, was ihr der Mann erwiesen hatte.
17 And she says, “These six [measures] of barley he has given to me, for he said, You do not go in empty to your mother-in-law.”
Sie sagte: "Die sechs Maß Gerste schenkte er mir. Er sprach: 'Du darfst nicht leer zu deiner Schwiegermutter kommen.'"
18 And she says, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter falls, for the man does not rest except he has completed the matter today.”
Da sagte sie: "Verhalt dich ruhig, meine Tochter, bis du weißt, wie diese Sache endet! Der Mann wird ja nicht ruhen, bis er die Sache heute noch zu Ende bringt."
