< Romans 9 >
1 Truth I say in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience bearing testimony with me in the Holy Spirit,

2 that I have great grief and unceasing pain in my heart—

3 for I was wishing, I myself, to be accursed from the Christ—for my brothers, my relatives, according to the flesh,
Ka koeinaa, ka pilnamkhqi aham ka mah ve awihkha zawk nawh Khrih ingqawi kqeng qu ham dyna poek nyng.
4 who are Israelites, whose [is] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the lawgiving, and the service, and the promises,
A mingmih taw Israel thlangkhqi ni, cakhqi na coengnaak, boeimangnaak, awikamnaak, sainaak, anaa awi huhnaak, bawkim bawknaak ingkaw awikamnaak ak hu thlangkhqi na awm uhy.
5 whose [are] the fathers, and of whom [is] the Christ, according to the flesh, who is God over all, blessed for all ages. Amen. (aiōn )
Pakdamkhqi awm a mingmih a koe ni, cekkhqi ak khuiawh kawng ni pumsa benawh taw Khrih ce a law hy, anih taw ik-oeih boeih ak khanawh Khawsa na awm nawh, kumqui kyihcah aham awm hy! Amen. (aiōn )
6 And it is not possible that the word of God has failed; for not all who [are] of Israel are these of Israel;
Khawsak awi ce hqawng hawh hy ni ti man tinaak. Israel awhkawng ak lawkhqi boeih ce Israel na am awm boeih uhy.
7 nor because they are seed of Abraham [are] all children, but, “in Isaac will a seed be called to you”;
Anih a cadilkhqi ce Abraham a cakhqi na am awm boeih bai hy. “Isaak awhkawng ni cadil qui ce noet na a awm hly,” tinawh ni a awm hy.
8 that is, the children of the flesh—these [are] not children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for seed;
Pumsa benawh kaw cakhqi ve Khawsa cakhqi na am awm hy, awikamnaak awh ak paakhqi ceni Abraham cakhqi na a mik awm.
9 for the word of promise [is] this: “According to this time I will come, and there will be to Sarah a son.”
Awikamnaak cetaw; a tym a khoek awh law tlaih kawng nyng saw, Sarah ing cak pa ta kaw,” tinawh awm hy.
10 And not only [so], but also Rebecca, having conceived by one—our father Isaac
Ce doeng amni, Rebekah a cakhqi ingawm pa pynoet doeng ni a mi taak hy, ningnih a pa Isaak ce.
11 (for they being not yet born, neither having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God, according to [divine] selection, might remain; not of works, but of Him who is calling),

12 it was said to her, “The greater will serve the less”;

13 according as it has been written: “Jacob I loved, and Esau I hated.”
Jakob lungna nyng saw Esau sawh na nyng,” tinawh qee hyt na awm hawh hy.
14 What, then, will we say? Unrighteousness [is] with God? Let it not be!
Cawhtaw ikawmyihna nu ni ti lah voei? Khawsa ve am thym hy nik ti hly nu? Amni ti qoe qoe kaw!
15 For to Moses He says, “I will do kindness to whom I do kindness, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion”;
Mosi a venawh, “Qeennaak ka taak thlang ak khanawh qeennaak ta kawng nyng saw, lungnaak ka taak ak thlang ak khanawh lungnaak ta kawng nyng,” tinawh kqawn pe hawh hy.
16 so then—not of him who is willing, nor of him who is running, but of God who is doing kindness;
Cedawngawh, ak ngaihkung ak camawh am nawh, ak thawngkung ak camawh am bai ni, ak qeenkung Khawsa ak camawh ni.
17 for the Writing says to Pharaoh, “For this very thing I raised you up, that I might show in you My power, and that My Name might be declared in all the land”;
Cakciim ing Pharaoh a venawh: Kang ming ce khawmdek pum awh khyipyi na a awm nawh, nang ak khanawh ka boeimangnaak kang dang sak aham kang cainaak ik-oeih awh ve nang taw ka ni tlung sak qoe ni,” tina hy.
18 so then, to whom He wills, He does kindness, and to whom He wills, He hardens.
Cedawngawh Khawsa amah ing a ngaih thlang ak khanawh qeennaak ta nawh, a ngaih ak thlang ce am thin hqam sak hy.
19 You will say, then, to me, “Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His counsel?”
Nangmih ak khuiawh kawng u ingawm: “Cawhtaw kawtih Khawsa ing thlang thawlh ak puk bai? Anih ak kawngaih ak oelh thai u nu ak awm?” ti kawm uk ti.
20 No, but, O man, who are you that are answering again to God? Will the thing formed say to Him who formed [it], Why did you make me thus?
Cehlai, Aw thlanghqing, Khawsak awi ak oelh thai nang ce a u nu? “A sai ik-oeih ing ak saikung a venawh, ‘Ikawtih vemyihna nani sai?’ tina kawm nu?”
21 Does the potter not have authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honor and one to dishonor?
Am ak sepkung ing tamlai boengoet awhkawng a vang ce ak nep soeih na, a vang bai taw hawnaak mailai na saithainaak am ta nawh nu?
22 And if God, willing to show the wrath and to make known His power, endured, in much long suffering, vessels of wrath fitted for destruction,
Khawsa ing kawsonaak ce tyk nawh a saithainaak ce dang sak ham a ngaih mantaw, cehlai plawci aham ak awm am ak khanawh yhnaak ak dung soeih ing ang yh awhtaw, ikawmyihna?
23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on vessels of kindness, that He before prepared for glory, whom also He called—us—
Boeimang aham a qoek a bah cekhqi, qeennaak a taak thlangkhqi venawh boeimangnaak ap kqawn noeng ce a sai peek awhtaw –
24 not only out of Jews, but also out of nations,
Judakhqi ven doeng awhkawng am nawh Gentelkhqi ven awhkawng awm ak khy ningnih vetaw ikawmyihna ni awmnaak kaw?
25 as also in Hosea He says, “I will call what [is] not My people—My people; and her not beloved—Beloved,
Hosea awh vemyihna kqan hawh hy: “Kak thlang na amak awmkhqi ce ‘kak thlangkhqi” tinawh khy kawng nyng saw; am ka lungnaak nu ce ‘ka lungnaak,’ tina kawng nyng”
26 and it will be—in the place where it was said to them, You [are] not My people; there they will be called sons of the living God.”
nangmih kai ak thlangkhqi amni,’ tinawh ak khynaak hun qoe qoe awh, a mingmih ce ‘Ak hqing Khawsa cakhqi,’ tinawh khy kawm uh,” tinawh kqawn hy.
27 And Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved;
Isaiah ingawm Israelkhqi awh vemyihna anak kqawn bai hy: “Israel thlangkhqi ve tuicunli a keng awhkaw dizui zah law u seiawm, ak syng tloek doeng ni a hul hly.
28 for a matter He is finishing, and is cutting short in righteousness, because a matter cut short will the LORD do on the land.”
Ikawtih Bawipa ing khawmdek khanawh awideng kawmsaw ang tawnna a dytnaak ce pha sak kaw,” tihy.
29 And according as Isaiah says before, “Except the LORD of Hosts left to us a seed, we had become as Sodom, and we had been made like Gomorrah.”
Isaiah ing lamma na vemyihna kqawn bai hy: “Bawipa ing cadilkhqi ve a ma hlyn mantaw, ningnih ve Sodom khaw amyihna ni awm kawm usaw, Gomora khaw amyihna ni ni awm hly hawh uhy,” tinawh kqawn hy.
30 What, then, will we say? That nations who are not pursuing righteousness attained to righteousness, and righteousness that [is] of faith,
Cawhtaw ikawmyihna ni ti lah voei? Dyngnaak amak hquut Gentelkhqi ing cangnaak ak caming dyngnaak ce hu uhy,
31 and Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at a law of righteousness;
cehlai dyngnaak ham anaa ak hquut Israelkhqi ingtaw am hu uhy.
32 why? Because—not by faith, but as by works of law; for they stumbled at the stone of stumbling,
Ikawtih a mami huh? Cangnaak ing a hquut kaana bibinaak ing ami hquut a dawngawh “Bahnaak lung,” awh bah uhy.
33 according as it has been written: “Behold, I place in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; and everyone who is believing thereon will not be ashamed.”
Toek lah, bahnaak aham ingkaw tluuknaak aham Zion awh lung ta nyng, u awm ce ak ypnaak thlang taw ityk awh awm chah am phyi kaw,” tinawh qee hyt awm hawh hy.
