< Romans 7 >

1 Are you ignorant, brothers—for to those knowing law I speak—that the law has lordship over the man as long as he lives?
Koeinaakhqi, anaa awi ak simkhqi venawh ni awi ve kak kqawn hy, anaa awi ing thlang ce a hqing khui doeng ni a uk hy, tice am nami sim nawh nu?
2 For the married woman to the living husband has been bound by law, and if the husband may die, she has been free from the law of the husband;
Kqawnnaak mai awh, anaa awi ing vaa ak ta nu pynoet ce a vaa a hqing khui pin na awm hy, cehlai a vaa ce a thih awhtaw, chungvaanaak anaa awi awhkawng anih ce loet hawh hy.
3 so then, the husband being alive, she will be called an adulteress if she may become another man’s; and if the husband may die, she is free from the law, so as not to be an adulteress, having become another man’s.
A vaa a hqing hyn awh thlak chang a vaanaak mantaw, Anih ce samphaih na awm hy. Cehlai a vaa ce a thih awhtaw, cawhkaw anaa awi awhkawng a loet hawh dawngawh, thlak chang vaa na mai seiawm anih ce sampaih am ming na voel hy.
4 So that, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of the Christ, for your becoming another’s, who was raised up out of the dead, that we might bear fruit to God;
Cedawngawh, koeinaakhqi, Khrih a pum ak caming nangmih awm anaa awi benawh thi hawh uhyk ti, Khawsa ham ak thaih ni qah thainaak aham thihnaak awhkawng ak tho tlaih a koe na ni awm uhy.
5 for when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, that [are] through the Law, were working in our members, to bear fruit to death;
Thawlhnaak ing ningnih ce a ni pinzen khqi awh, thihnaak ak thaih ce ni qahnaak aham ningnih a pum awh pumsa ngaih thawlhnaakkhqi ing anaa ak caming bi bi hy.
6 and now we have ceased from the Law, that being dead in which we were held, so that we may serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter.
Cehlai tuhawhtaw, ningnih a nik pinzen lak awhkawng ni thi hawh nawh, anaa awi awhkawng ni loet hawh hy; cak khqym awi amyihna am ni, Myihlak thai awh bi ni bi thainaak ahamna ni.
7 What, then, will we say? The Law [is] sin? Let it not be! But I did not know sin except through law, for also the covetousness I had not known if the Law had not said:
Cawhtaw ikawmyihna nu ni ti lah voei? Anaa awi ve thawlhnaak nu? Am ni! Cehlai anaa awi awhkawng simsakna ama awm man thawlh am sim voei nyng; Anaa awi ing, “Koeh nai,” ama ti man nai ve am sim hly hlai hynyng.
8 “You will not covet”; and sin having received an opportunity, through the command, worked in me all covetousness—for apart from law sin is dead.
Cehlai thawlhnaak ing, awi peek awh a tym leek lo nawh nainaak soepkep khawzah ce kak khanawh awm sak hy. Anaa awi ama awm awhtaw, thawlhnaak taw thi hy.
9 And I was alive apart from law once, and the command having come, sin revived, and I died;
Anaa awi kaana khaw ana sa hlai nyng; awipeek a awm lawhtaw, thawlhnaak ce hqing law nawh, kai taw thi nyng.
10 and the command that [is] for life, this was found by me for death;
Hqingnaak aham awipeek ce thihnaak hawna awm hy, tice sim nyng.
11 for sin, having received an opportunity, through the command, deceived me, and through it, slew [me],
Ikawtih thawlhnaak ing awipeek awh tha lo nawh kai ce ni thai na nawh, anaa awi ing ni him hy.
12 so that the Law, indeed, [is] holy, and the command holy, and righteous, and good.
Cedawngawh, anaa awi taw ciimcaih hy, dyng nawh leek hy.
13 That which is good then, has it become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear sin, through the good, working death to me, that sin might become exceedingly sinful through the command.
Cawhtaw them leek ce kai ham thihnaak na awm nawh nu? Amni! Thawlh ce thawlh na ang dang thainaak ham, awipeek ak caming thawlh ce thlawlh ing a be thainaak aham, them leek ing kai awh thihnaak ce awm sak hy.
14 For we have known that the Law is spiritual, and I am fleshly, sold by sin;
Anaa awi taw Myihla ben them ni ti, ni sim uhy; cehlai kai taw pumsak thlangna awm nyng, thawlh tamnaa na zawihna kak awm ni.
15 for that which I work, I do not acknowledge; for not what I will, this I practice, but what I hate, this I do.
Ikawmyih them nu ka sai ti, am sim nyng; ka sai them boeih ve, ka ngaih kawi am ni, ka sawhnaak soeih ni ka sai hy,
16 And if what I do not will, this I do, I consent to the Law that [it is] good,
Sai aham am ka ngaih them ce ka sai awhtaw, anaa awi taw leek hy tinawh kang dyih pyi na awm hy.
17 and now it is no longer I that work it, but sin dwelling in me,
Cehlai tuh awhkaw them ak sai ve kai am ni, kai ak khuiawh ak awm thawlh ing ni a sai hy.
18 for I have known that there does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh, good: for to will is present with me, and I do not find to work that which is right,
Ka pumsa thawlh awh ve themleek am awm hy tice sim nyng. Themleek sai aham ngaih hlai nyng, am sai thai nyng.
19 for the good that I will, I do not do; but the evil that I do not will, this I practice.
Ikawtih themleek sai ka ngaih ve a sai kaana; thawlhnaak sai am ka ngaih ce sai khaak nyng.
20 And if what I do not will, this I do, it is no longer I that work it, but sin that is dwelling in me.
Cedawngawh sai ham am ka ngaih ce ka sai awhtaw, kai ing am sai nyng saw kai ak khuiawh ak awm thawlhnaak ing ni a sai hy.
21 I find, then, the law, that when I desire to do what is right, the evil is present with me,
Themleek sai ham ka ngaih awh, themche ce ka venawh awm hy, tice anaa awi ak caming sim nyng.
22 for I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man,
Kak kawlung taw Khawsa a anaa awi awh zeel hlai hy;
23 and I behold another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin that [is] in my members.
ka pumsa awh anaa awi ak chang ing bibi hy, ce ing ka pum awh bi ak bi thawlh anaa thawngim khuiawh ce nik thla hy.
24 A wretched man I [am]! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
Thlang khuikha soeihna awm nyng! Ve thihnaak pumsa ak khuiawh kawng u ing a ni hul lah voei?
25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord; so then, I myself indeed serve the Law of God with the mind, and with the flesh, the law of sin.
Jesu Khrih ningnih a Bawipa ak caming, Khawsa venawh zeelnaak awm seh! Cedawngawh, kamah awm kak kawlung khuiawh taw Khawsa anaa awi a tamnaa na awm hlai nyng, pumsa benawh taw thawlh tamnaa na awm nyng.
