< Romans 6 >

1 What, then, will we say? Will we continue in sin that grace may abound?
prabhuutaruupe. na yad anugraha. h prakaa"sate tadartha. m paape ti. s.thaama iti vaakya. m ki. m vaya. m vadi. syaama. h? tanna bhavatu|
2 Let it not be! We who died to sin—how will we still live in it?
paapa. m prati m. rtaa vaya. m punastasmin katham jiivi. syaama. h?
3 Are you ignorant that we, as many as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into His death?
vaya. m yaavanto lokaa yii"sukhrii. s.te majjitaa abhavaama taavanta eva tasya mara. ne majjitaa iti ki. m yuuya. m na jaaniitha?
4 We were buried together, then, with Him through the immersion into death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have become planted together to the likeness of His death, [so] we also will be of the resurrection;
apara. m vaya. m yadi tena sa. myuktaa. h santa. h sa iva mara. nabhaagino jaataastarhi sa ivotthaanabhaagino. api bhavi. syaama. h|
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [Him], that the body of sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving sin,
vaya. m yat paapasya daasaa. h puna rna bhavaamastadartham asmaaka. m paaparuupa"sariirasya vinaa"saartham asmaaka. m puraatanapuru. sastena saaka. m kru"se. ahanyateti vaya. m jaaniima. h|
7 for he who has died has been set free from sin.
yo hata. h sa paapaat mukta eva|
8 And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also will live with Him,
ataeva yadi vaya. m khrii. s.tena saarddham ahanyaamahi tarhi punarapi tena sahitaa jiivi. syaama ityatraasmaaka. m vi"svaaso vidyate|
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, dies no more; death has no more lordship over Him;
yata. h "sma"saanaad utthaapita. h khrii. s.to puna rna mriyata iti vaya. m jaaniima. h| tasmin kopyadhikaaro m. rtyo rnaasti|
10 for in that He died, He died to sin once, and in that He lives, He lives to God;
apara nca sa yad amriyata tenaikadaa paapam uddi"syaamriyata, yacca jiivati tene"svaram uddi"sya jiivati;
11 so also you, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord.
tadvad yuuyamapi svaan paapam uddi"sya m. rtaan asmaaka. m prabhu. naa yii"sukhrii. s.tene"svaram uddi"sya jiivanto jaaniita|
12 Do not let then sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires;
apara nca kutsitaabhilaa. saan puurayitu. m yu. smaaka. m martyadehe. su paapam aadhipatya. m na karotu|
13 neither present your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God;
apara. m sva. m svam a"ngam adharmmasyaastra. m k. rtvaa paapasevaayaa. m na samarpayata, kintu "sma"saanaad utthitaaniva svaan ii"svare samarpayata svaanya"ngaani ca dharmmaastrasvaruupaa. nii"svaram uddi"sya samarpayata|
14 for sin will not have lordship over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
yu. smaakam upari paapasyaadhipatya. m puna rna bhavi. syati, yasmaad yuuya. m vyavasthaayaa anaayattaa anugrahasya caayattaa abhavata|
15 What then? Will we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Let it not be!
kintu vaya. m vyavasthaayaa anaayattaa anugrahasya caayattaa abhavaama, iti kaara. naat ki. m paapa. m kari. syaama. h? tanna bhavatu|
16 Have you not known that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, servants you are to him to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
yato m. rtijanaka. m paapa. m pu. nyajanaka. m nide"saacara. na ncaitayordvayo ryasmin aaj naapaalanaartha. m bh. rtyaaniva svaan samarpayatha, tasyaiva bh. rtyaa bhavatha, etat ki. m yuuya. m na jaaniitha?
17 And thanks to God, that you were servants of sin, and—were obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were delivered up;
apara nca puurvva. m yuuya. m paapasya bh. rtyaa aasteti satya. m kintu yasyaa. m "sik. saaruupaayaa. m muu. saayaa. m nik. siptaa abhavata tasyaa aak. rti. m manobhi rlabdhavanta iti kaara. naad ii"svarasya dhanyavaado bhavatu|
18 and having been freed from sin, you became servants to righteousness.
ittha. m yuuya. m paapasevaato muktaa. h santo dharmmasya bh. rtyaa jaataa. h|
19 I speak in a human [way], because of the weakness of your flesh, for even as you presented your members servants to the uncleanness and to the lawlessness—to the lawlessness, so now present your members servants to righteousness—to sanctification,
yu. smaaka. m "saariirikyaa durbbalataayaa heto rmaanavavad aham etad braviimi; puna. h punaradharmmakara. naartha. m yadvat puurvva. m paapaamedhyayo rbh. rtyatve nijaa"ngaani samaarpayata tadvad idaanii. m saadhukarmmakara. naartha. m dharmmasya bh. rtyatve nijaa"ngaani samarpayata|
20 for when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
yadaa yuuya. m paapasya bh. rtyaa aasta tadaa dharmmasya naayattaa aasta|
21 What fruit, therefore, were you having then, in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those [is] death.
tarhi yaani karmmaa. ni yuuyam idaanii. m lajjaajanakaani budhyadhve puurvva. m tai ryu. smaaka. m ko laabha aasiit? te. saa. m karmma. naa. m phala. m mara. nameva|
22 And now, having been freed from sin, and having become servants to God, you have your fruit—to sanctification, and the end continuous life; (aiōnios g166)

23 for the wages of sin [is] death, and the gift of God [is] continuous life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
