Romans 2
1 Therefore, you are inexcusable, O man—everyone who is judging—for in that in which you judge the other, yourself you condemn, for the same things you practice who are judging,
১অতএব, মানুষেরা তোমাদের উত্তর দেবার কোনো অজুহাত নেই, তোমরা যে বিচার করেছ, কারণ যে বিষয়ে তোমরা পরের বিচার করে থাক, সেই বিষয়ে নিজেকেই দোষী করে থাক; কারণ তোমরা যে বিচার করছ, তোমরা সেই মত আচরণ করে থাক।
2 and we have known that the judgment of God is according to truth, on those practicing such things.
২আর আমরা জানি যে, যারা এই সব কাজ করে, সত্য অনুসারে ঈশ্বর তাদের বিচার করেন।
3 And do you think this, O man, who are judging those who such things are practicing, and are doing them, that you will escape the judgment of God?
৩হে ভাইগণ, যারা এই সব কাজ করে তুমি তাদের বিচার কর আবার তুমিও সেই একই কাজ কর। তবে তুমি কি ঈশ্বরের বিচার থেকে রেহাই পাবে?
4 Or the riches of His goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, do you despise, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to conversion?
৪অথবা তুমি কি জানো তাঁর মধুর ভাব ও ধৈর্য্য ও চিরসহিষ্ণুতা অবহেলা করছ? তুমি কি জানো না ঈশ্বরের মধুর ভাব তোমাকে মন পরিবর্তনের দিকে নিয়ে যায়?
5 But according to your hardness and impenitent heart, you treasure up wrath to yourself in [the] day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
৫কিন্তু তোমার এই শক্ত মনোভাবের জন্য তুমি পাপ থেকে মন পরিবর্তন করতে চাও না, সেজন্য তুমি নিজে নিজের জন্য এমন ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ সঞ্চয় করছ, যা ক্রোধের ও ঈশ্বরের ধার্মিকতার প্রকাশ হবে।
6 who will render to each according to his works;
৬তিনি প্রত্যেক মানুষকে তার কাজ অনুযায়ী ফল দেবেন,
7 to those, indeed, who in continuance of a good work, seek glory, and honor, and incorruptibility—continuous life; (aiōnios g166)
৭যারা ধৈর্য্যের সঙ্গে ভালো কাজ করে গৌরব, সম্মান এবং সততায় অটল তারা অনন্ত জীবন পাবে। (aiōnios g166)
8 and to those contentious, and disobedient, indeed, to the truth, and obeying the unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,
৮কিন্তু যারা নিজেদের ইচ্ছায় চলে, যারা সত্যকে অবাধ্য করে এবং অধার্মিকতার বাধ্য হয়, তাদের উপর ক্রোধ ও রোষ, ক্লেশ ও সঙ্কট আসবে;
9 tribulation and distress, on every soul of man that is working the evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek;
৯এবং দুঃখ কষ্ট ও দুর্দশা প্রতিটি মানুষ যারা মন্দ কাজ করেছে প্রথমে ইহূদি এবং পরে গ্রীকের লোকের উপরে আসবে।
10 and glory, and honor, and peace, to everyone who is working the good, both to Jew first, and to Greek.
১০কিন্তু যারা ভালো কাজ করেছে প্রতিটি মানুষের উপর প্রথমে ইহূদির উপর পরে গ্রীকেরও উপর গৌরব, সম্মান ও শান্তি আসবে।
11 For there is no favor by appearance with God,
১১কারণ ঈশ্বর পক্ষপাতিত্ব করেন না।
12 for as many as sinned without law, will also perish without law, and as many as sinned in law, through law will be judged,
১২কারণ যত লোক আইন কানুন ছাড়া পাপ করেছে, আইন কানুন ছাড়াই তারা ধ্বংস হবে; এবং যারা আইন কানুনের ভিতরে থেকে পাপ করেছে তাদের আইন কানুনের মাধ্যমেই বিচার করা হবে।
13 for not the hearers of the Law [are] righteous before God, but the doers of the Law will be declared righteous.
১৩কারণ যারা নিয়ম কানুন শোনে তারা যে ঈশ্বরের কাছে ধার্ম্মিকতা নয়, কিন্তু যারা নিয়ম কানুন মেনে চলে তারাই ধার্মিক বলে ধরা হবে।
14 For when nations that have no law, by nature may do the things of the Law, these not having a law—to themselves are a law,
১৪কারণ যখন অযিহূদীর কোনো নিয়ম কানুন থাকে না, আবার তারা যখন সাধারণত নিয়ম কানুন অনুযায়ী আচার ব্যবহার করে, তখন কোন নিয়ম কানুন না থাকলেও নিজেরাই নিজেদের নিয়ম কানুন হয়;
15 who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience also witnessing with them, and between one another the thoughts accusing or else defending,
১৫এই সবের মাধ্যমে তারা দেখায় নিয়ম কানুন মতে যা করা উচিত তা তাদের হৃদয়ে লেখা আছে, তাদের বিবেকও তাদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সাক্ষ্য দেয় এবং তাদের নানা চিন্তাধারা পরস্পর হয় তাদেরকে দোষী করে, নয়ত তাদের পক্ষে সমর্থন করে
16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my good news, through Jesus Christ.
১৬যে দিন ঈশ্বর আমার প্রচারিত সুসমাচার অনুযায়ী খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর মাধ্যমে মানুষদের গোপন বিষয়গুলি বিচার করবেন।
17 Behold, you are named a Jew, and rest on the Law, and boast in God,
১৭যদি তুমি নিজেকে ইহূদি নামে পরিচিত থাক তবে আইন কানুনের উপর নির্ভর কর এবং ঈশ্বরেতে গর্বিত হও।
18 and know the will, and approve the distinctions, being instructed out of the Law,
১৮তাঁর ইচ্ছা জানো এবং যেগুলি ভিন্ন এবং যা আইন কানুনে নির্দেশ দেওয়া আছে সেই সব পরীক্ষা করে দেখো।
19 and have confidence that you yourself are a leader of blind ones, a light of those in darkness,
১৯যদি তুমি নিশ্চিত মনে কর যে তুমিই অন্ধদের পথ-দর্শক এবং আলো যারা অন্ধকারে বাস করছে,
20 a corrector of foolish ones, a teacher of babies, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth in the Law.
২০বোকাদের সংশোধক, শিশুদের শিক্ষক এবং তোমার আইন কানুনের ও সত্যের জ্ঞান আছে।
21 You, then, who are teaching another, do you not teach yourself?
২১যদি তুমি অন্যকে শিক্ষা দাও, তুমি কি নিজেকে শিক্ষা দাও না? তুমি যখন চুরি করতে নেই বলে প্রচার কর, তুমি কি চুরি করো?
22 You who are preaching not to steal, do you steal? You who are saying not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who are abhorring the idols, do you rob temples?
২২তুমি যে ব্যভিচার করতে নাই বলছ, তুমি কি ব্যভিচার করছ? তুমি যে মুর্ত্তিপূজা ঘৃণা করছ, তখন কি তুমি মন্দির থেকে ডাকাতি করছ?
23 You who boast in the Law, through the transgression of the Law do you dishonor God?
২৩তুমি যে নিয়ম কানুনে আনন্দ ও গর্ব করছ, তুমি কি নিয়ম কানুন অমান্য করে ঈশ্বরের অসম্মান করছ?
24 For evil is spoken of the Name of God among the nations because of you, according as it has been written.
২৪কারণ ঠিক যেমন শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, সেই রকম তোমাদের মাধ্যমে অযিহুদিদের মধ্যে ঈশ্বরের নামের নিন্দা হচ্ছে।
25 For circumcision, indeed, profits, if you may practice law, but if you may be a transgressor of law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
২৫যদি তুমি আইন কানুন মেনে চল তবে ত্বকছেদ করে লাভ আছে; কিন্তু যদি তুমি নিয়ম কানুন অমান্য কর তবে তোমার ত্বকছেদ অত্বকছেদ হয়ে পড়ল।
26 If, therefore, the uncircumcision may keep the righteousness of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision?
২৬অতএব যদি অত্বকছেদ লোক ব্যবস্থার নিয়ম কানুন সব পালন করে, তবে তার অত্বকছেদ কি ত্বকছেদ বলে ধরা হবে না?
27 And the uncircumcision, by nature, fulfilling the Law, will judge you who, through letter and circumcision, [are] a transgressor of law.
২৭যার ত্বকছেদ করা হয়নি এমন লোক যদি নিয়ম কানুন মেনে চলে, তবে তোমার কাছে লিখিত আইন কানুন থাকা ও ত্বকচ্ছেদ সত্বেও যদি তুমি নিয়ম কানুন অমান্য কর, সে লোকটি কি তোমার বিচার করবে না?
28 For he is not a Jew who is [so] outwardly, neither [is] circumcision that which is outward in flesh;
২৮কারণ বাইরে থেকে যে ইহূদি সে ইহূদি নয় এবং দেহের বাইরে যে ত্বকছেদ তাহা প্রকৃত ত্বকছেদ নয়।
29 but a Jew [is] he who is [so] inwardly, and circumcision [is] of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, of which the praise is not of men, but of God.
২৯কিন্তু অন্তরে যে ইহূদি সেই প্রকৃত ইহূদি এবং হৃদয়ের যে ত্বকছেদ যা অক্ষরে নয় কিন্তু আত্মায় সেটাই হলো ত্বকছেদ। সেই মানুষের প্রশংসা মানুষ থেকে হয় না কিন্তু ঈশ্বর থেকেই হয়।
