< Romans 14 >

1 And receive him who is weak in the faith—not to determinations of reasonings;
yo jano. ad. r.dhavi"svaasasta. m yu. smaaka. m sa"ngina. m kuruta kintu sandehavicaaraartha. m nahi|
2 one believes that he may eat all things—and he who is weak eats herbs;
yato ni. siddha. m kimapi khaadyadravya. m naasti, kasyacijjanasya pratyaya etaad. r"so vidyate kintvad. r.dhavi"svaasa. h ka"scidaparo jana. h kevala. m "saaka. m bhu"nkta. m|
3 do not let him who is eating despise him who is not eating: and do not let him who is not eating judge him who is eating, for God received him.
tarhi yo jana. h saadhaara. na. m dravya. m bhu"nkte sa vi"se. sadravyabhoktaara. m naavajaaniiyaat tathaa vi"se. sadravyabhoktaapi saadhaara. nadravyabhoktaara. m do. si. na. m na kuryyaat, yasmaad ii"svarastam ag. rhlaat|
4 You—who are you that are judging another’s domestic [affairs]? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
he paradaasasya duu. sayitastva. m ka. h? nijaprabho. h samiipe tena padasthena padacyutena vaa bhavitavya. m sa ca padastha eva bhavi. syati yata ii"svarasta. m padastha. m karttu. m "saknoti|
5 One judges one day above another, and another judges every day [alike]; let each be fully assured in his own mind.
apara nca ka"scijjano dinaad dina. m vi"se. sa. m manyate ka"scittu sarvvaa. ni dinaani samaanaani manyate, ekaiko jana. h sviiyamanasi vivicya ni"scinotu|
6 He who is regarding the day, he regards [it] to the LORD, and he who is not regarding the day, he does not regard [it] to the LORD. He who is eating, he eats to the LORD, for he gives thanks to God; and he who is not eating, he does not eat to the LORD, and gives thanks to God.
yo jana. h ki ncana dina. m vi"se. sa. m manyate sa prabhubhaktyaa tan manyate, ya"sca jana. h kimapi dina. m vi"se. sa. m na manyate so. api prabhubhaktyaa tanna manyate; apara nca ya. h sarvvaa. ni bhak. syadravyaa. ni bhu"nkte sa prabhubhaktayaa taani bhu"nkte yata. h sa ii"svara. m dhanya. m vakti, ya"sca na bhu"nkte so. api prabhubhaktyaiva na bhu njaana ii"svara. m dhanya. m bruute|
7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself;
aparam asmaaka. m ka"scit nijanimitta. m praa. naan dhaarayati nijanimitta. m mriyate vaa tanna;
8 for both, if we may live, we live to the LORD; if also we may die, we die to the LORD; both then if we may live, also if we may die, we are the LORD’s;
kintu yadi vaya. m praa. naan dhaarayaamastarhi prabhunimitta. m dhaarayaama. h, yadi ca praa. naan tyajaamastarhyapi prabhunimitta. m tyajaama. h, ataeva jiivane mara. ne vaa vaya. m prabhorevaasmahe|
9 for because of this Christ both died and rose again, and lived again, that He may be Lord both of dead and of living.
yato jiivanto m. rtaa"scetyubhaye. saa. m lokaanaa. m prabhutvapraaptyartha. m khrii. s.to m. rta utthita. h punarjiivita"sca|
10 And you, why do you judge your brother? Or again, you, why do you set at nothing your brother? For we will all stand at the judgment seat of the Christ;
kintu tva. m nija. m bhraatara. m kuto duu. sayasi? tathaa tva. m nija. m bhraatara. m kutastuccha. m jaanaasi? khrii. s.tasya vicaarasi. mhaasanasya sammukhe sarvvairasmaabhirupasthaatavya. m;
11 for it has been written: “I live! Says the LORD—Every knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will confess to God”;
yaad. r"sa. m likhitam aaste, pare"sa. h "sapatha. m kurvvan vaakyametat puraavadat| sarvvo jana. h samiipe me jaanupaata. m kari. syati| jihvaikaikaa tathe"sasya nighnatva. m sviikari. syati|
12 so, then, each of us will give reckoning to God concerning himself;
ataeva ii"svarasamiipe. asmaakam ekaikajanena nijaa kathaa kathayitavyaa|
13 therefore, may we judge one another no longer, but rather judge this, not to put a stumbling-stone before the brother, or an offense.
ittha. m sati vayam adyaarabhya paraspara. m na duu. sayanta. h svabhraatu rvighno vyaaghaato vaa yanna jaayeta taad. r"siimiihaa. m kurmmahe|
14 I have known, and am persuaded, in the Lord Jesus, that nothing [is] unclean of itself, except to him who is reckoning anything to be unclean—to that one [it is] unclean;
kimapi vastu svabhaavato naa"suci bhavatiityaha. m jaane tathaa prabhunaa yii"sukhrii. s.tenaapi ni"scita. m jaane, kintu yo jano yad dravyam apavitra. m jaaniite tasya k. rte tad apavitram aaste|
15 and if your brother is grieved through food, you no longer walk according to love; do not destroy with your food that one for whom Christ died.
ataeva tava bhak. syadravye. na tava bhraataa "sokaanvito bhavati tarhi tva. m bhraatara. m prati premnaa naacarasi| khrii. s.to yasya k. rte svapraa. naan vyayitavaan tva. m nijena bhak. syadravye. na ta. m na naa"saya|
16 Do not let, then, evil be spoken of your good,
apara. m yu. smaakam uttama. m karmma nindita. m na bhavatu|
17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit;
bhak. sya. m peya nce"svararaajyasya saaro nahi, kintu pu. nya. m "saanti"sca pavitre. naatmanaa jaata aananda"sca|
18 for he who in these things is serving the Christ, [is] acceptable to God and approved of men.
etai ryo jana. h khrii. s.ta. m sevate, sa eve"svarasya tu. s.tikaro manu. syai"sca sukhyaata. h|
19 So, then, may we pursue the things of peace, and the things of building up one another.
ataeva yenaasmaaka. m sarvve. saa. m parasparam aikya. m ni. s.thaa ca jaayate tadevaasmaabhi ryatitavya. m|
20 Do not cast down the work of God for the sake of food; all things, indeed, [are] pure, but evil [is] to the man who is eating through stumbling.
bhak. syaartham ii"svarasya karmma. no haani. m maa janayata; sarvva. m vastu pavitramiti satya. m tathaapi yo jano yad bhuktvaa vighna. m labhate tadartha. m tad bhadra. m nahi|
21 [It is] not right to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to [do anything] in which your brother stumbles, or is made to fall, or is weak.
tava maa. msabhak. sa. nasuraapaanaadibhi. h kriyaabhi ryadi tava bhraatu. h paadaskhalana. m vighno vaa caa ncalya. m vaa jaayate tarhi tadbhojanapaanayostyaago bhadra. h|
22 You have faith! Have [it] to yourself before God; blessed is he who is not judging himself in what he approves,
yadi tava pratyayasti. s.thati tarhii"svarasya gocare svaantare ta. m gopaya; yo jana. h svamatena sva. m do. si. na. m na karoti sa eva dhanya. h|
23 and he who is making a difference, if he may eat, has been condemned, because [it is] not of faith; and all that [is] not of faith is sin.
kintu ya. h ka"scit sa. m"sayya bhu"nkte. arthaat na pratiitya bhu"nkte, sa evaava"sya. m da. n.daarho bhavi. syati, yato yat pratyayaja. m nahi tadeva paapamaya. m bhavati|
