Romans 14
1 And receive him who is weak in the faith—not to determinations of reasonings;
Recebei a quem for fraco na fé, mas não para [envolvê-lo] em temas controversos.
2 one believes that he may eat all things—and he who is weak eats herbs;
Um crê que pode comer de tudo, e outro, que é fraco, come [somente] vegetais.
3 do not let him who is eating despise him who is not eating: and do not let him who is not eating judge him who is eating, for God received him.
O que come não despreze o que não come, e o que não come não julgue o que come, porque Deus o aceitou.
4 You—who are you that are judging another’s domestic [affairs]? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
Quem és tu para julgares o servo alheio? É ao seu próprio senhor que ele fica firme ou cai. E ele ficará firme, porque o Senhor é poderoso para o firmar.
5 One judges one day above another, and another judges every day [alike]; let each be fully assured in his own mind.
Um faz diferença entre um dia e outro; porém outro considera iguais todos os dias. Cada um mantenha certeza em sua própria mente.
6 He who is regarding the day, he regards [it] to the LORD, and he who is not regarding the day, he does not regard [it] to the LORD. He who is eating, he eats to the LORD, for he gives thanks to God; and he who is not eating, he does not eat to the LORD, and gives thanks to God.
O que faz diferença entre dias, para o Senhor a faz. O que come, come para o Senhor, porque dá graças a Deus; e o que não come, deixa de comer para o Senhor, e dá graças a Deus.
7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself;
Pois nenhum de nós vive para si mesmo; e nenhum morre para si mesmo.
8 for both, if we may live, we live to the LORD; if also we may die, we die to the LORD; both then if we may live, also if we may die, we are the LORD’s;
Porque, se vivemos, para o Senhor vivemos; e se morremos, para o Senhor morremos. Portanto, quer vivamos, quer morramos, do Senhor somos.
9 for because of this Christ both died and rose again, and lived again, that He may be Lord both of dead and of living.
Pois para isto Cristo morreu, e voltou a viver, para ser Senhor tanto dos mortos como dos vivos.
10 And you, why do you judge your brother? Or again, you, why do you set at nothing your brother? For we will all stand at the judgment seat of the Christ;
Tu, porém, por que julgas o teu irmão? Ou tu também, por que desprezas o teu irmão? Pois todos nós seremos apresentados diante do tribunal de Deus.
11 for it has been written: “I live! Says the LORD—Every knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will confess to God”;
Porque está escrito: [“Tão certo como] eu vivo, diz o Senhor, que todo joelho se dobrará diante de mim, e toda língua confessará a Deus”;
12 so, then, each of us will give reckoning to God concerning himself;
de maneira que cada um de nós dará conta de si mesmo a Deus.
13 therefore, may we judge one another no longer, but rather judge this, not to put a stumbling-stone before the brother, or an offense.
Portanto, não julguemos mais uns aos outros; em vez disso, tomai a decisão de nunca pôr alguma pedra de obstáculo ou de tropeço diante do seu irmão.
14 I have known, and am persuaded, in the Lord Jesus, that nothing [is] unclean of itself, except to him who is reckoning anything to be unclean—to that one [it is] unclean;
Eu sei, e tenho certeza no Senhor Jesus, que nada é impuro por si mesmo; a não ser para quem o considera impuro: aquilo para ele se torna impuro.
15 and if your brother is grieved through food, you no longer walk according to love; do not destroy with your food that one for whom Christ died.
Pois, se por causa do que comes o teu irmão se entristece, tu já não estás andando segundo o amor. Não destruas por tua comida aquele por quem Cristo morreu.
16 Do not let, then, evil be spoken of your good,
Não seja insultado o vosso bem,
17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit;
porque o reino de Deus não é comida nem bebida, mas sim justiça, paz, e alegria no Espírito Santo.
18 for he who in these things is serving the Christ, [is] acceptable to God and approved of men.
Pois quem nisso serve a Cristo é agradável a Deus e aprovado pelas pessoas.
19 So, then, may we pursue the things of peace, and the things of building up one another.
Sigamos, pois, as coisas que [resultam em] paz e edificação de uns aos outros.
20 Do not cast down the work of God for the sake of food; all things, indeed, [are] pure, but evil [is] to the man who is eating through stumbling.
Não destruas a obra de Deus por causa da comida. É verdade que todas as coisas são limpas, porém mau é ao ser humano comer causando ofensa.
21 [It is] not right to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to [do anything] in which your brother stumbles, or is made to fall, or is weak.
Não é bom comer carne, nem beber vinho, nem [qualquer coisa] que faça o teu irmão tropeçar.
22 You have faith! Have [it] to yourself before God; blessed is he who is not judging himself in what he approves,
A convicção que tu tens, tenha-a para ti mesmo diante de Deus. Feliz é quem não se culpa naquilo que aprova.
23 and he who is making a difference, if he may eat, has been condemned, because [it is] not of faith; and all that [is] not of faith is sin.
Mas aquele que tem dúvida, se comer, é culpado, porque não foi pela fé; e tudo que não é pela fé é pecado.
