< Romans 13 >

1 Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God,
Lathueng lae ukkungnaw e kâ teh tami pueng ni ngai awh naseh. Cathut koehoi laipalah kâtawnnae tie awmhoeh. Atu kaukkungnaw heh Cathut ma ni a poe e doeh.
2 so that he who is setting himself against the authority, has resisted against God’s ordinance; and those resisting will receive judgment to themselves.
Kaukkungnaw ka taran e teh Cathut ni kâ poe e ka taran e lah ao. Hottelah ka taran e naw teh yon lawkcengnae ama ni a kâhmo awh han.
3 For those ruling are not a terror to the good works, but to the evil; and do you wish to not be afraid of the authority? Be doing that which is good, and you will have praise from it,
Bangkongtetpawiteh, kaukkungnaw heh hawinae ka sak e taminaw hanelah taki hane awmhoeh. Hno kahawihoeh ka sak naw hanelah doeh taki hanelah ao. Hottelah na sak pawiteh ahnie oupnae na pang han.
4 for it is a servant of God to you for good; and if you may do that which is evil, be fearing, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil.
Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh nang hane hnokahawi kasakkung Cathut e san doeh. Hatei hno kathout na sak pawiteh takinae tawn lawih. Ahnimouh teh tahloi ayawmlah patuem awh hoeh. Ahni teh hno kathout ka sak naw hanlah a lungkhueknae yon lawkcengkung Cathut e san doeh.
5 For this reason it is necessary to be subject, not only because of the wrath, but also because of the conscience,
Hat pawiteh, a lungkhueknae dawk dueng laipalah thoehawi panue e lahoi hai ngâi awh.
6 for because of this you also pay tribute; for they are servants of God, on this very thing attending continually;
Het kecu dawk nan ou, tamuk naw hai na poe awh. Nangmouh teh Cathut e thaw katawknaw lah na o awh teh hote thaw doeh pou na tawk awh.
7 render, therefore, to all [their] dues; to whom tribute, the tribute; to whom custom, the custom; to whom fear, the fear; to whom honor, the honor.
Hatdawkvah tami tangkuem hai poe kamcu e hah poe awh. Tamuk poe kamcu e naw hah tamuk poe awh. Cawng e poe tueng e naw hah cawng pouh awh. Taki tueng e naw hah taket awh. Bari kamcu e naw hah bari awh.
8 To no one owe anything, except to love one another; for he who is loving the other—he has fulfilled law,
Lungpatawnae hloilah, bang patet e laiba hai tawn awh hanh. Ayâ lung ka pataw e ni kâlawk a kuep sak toe.
9 for, “You will not commit adultery, You will not murder, You will not steal, You will not bear false testimony, You will not covet”; and if there is any other command, in this word it is summed up, in this: “You will love your neighbor as yourself”;
Bangkongtetpawiteh, uicuk hanh, tami thet hanh, parawt hanh, radueknae lung tawn hanh tie kâpoelawk koehoi kamtawng teh, alouke kâlawk bangpatet hai, nama hoi kâkuen e hah nama hoi kâvan lah lungpataw tie kâlawk dawk koung a kâkuet.
10 the love to the neighbor works no ill; the love, therefore, [is] the fullness of law.
Lungpatawnae ni teh a tengpam huiko naw koe, hawihoehnae sak hoeh. Hatdawkvah, lungpatawnae teh, kâlawk ka kuepsakkung lah ao.
11 And this, knowing the time, that for us, the hour already [is] to be aroused out of sleep, for now our salvation [is] nearer than when we believed;
Nangmanaw ni, a tue teh na panue awh. Nangmouh inae koehoi kâhlaw nahane tueng a pha toe. Bangdawk ne tetpawiteh atu maimae rungngangnae teh maimouh yuemnae hnin hlak hoehoe a hnai toe.
12 the night advanced, and the day came near; let us lay aside, therefore, the works of the darkness, and let us put on the armor of the light;
Karum meimei aloum teh, kho meimei a dai toe. Hatdawkvah maimanaw teh ka hmawt e nuencangnaw takhoe vaiteh angnae nuencang naw khohnat awh sei.
13 as in daytime, let us walk properly; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in strife and jealousy;
Caneinawmnae, yamuhrinae, kamsoumhoehe napui tongpa yonnae hoi takngainae, kâpokâdanghoehnae hoi kâutnae dawk pawngpa laipalah khodai ceio e patetlah mitkhet kamcu lah khosak awh sei.
14 but put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and take no forethought for the flesh—for desires.
Bawipa Jisuh Khrih hah khohnat awh. Takthai lungradueknae thap sin hanelah kâcai awh hanh.
