Revelation 17
1 And there came one of the seven messengers, who were having the seven bowls, and he spoke with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show to you the judgment of the great whore, who is sitting on the many waters,
E veio um dos sete anjos que tinham as sete taças, e falou comigo, dizendo-me: “Vem, eu te mostrarei a condenação da grande prostituta, que está sentada sobre muitas águas;
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed whoredom; and those inhabiting the earth were made drunk from the wine of her whoredom”;
com a qual os reis da terra se prostituíram, e os que habitam na terra se embriagaram com o vinho da sua prostituição.”
3 and he carried me away to a wilderness in the Spirit, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of slander, having seven heads and ten horns,
E ele me levou em espírito a um deserto, e eu vi uma mulher assentada sobre uma besta de cor de escarlate, que estava cheio de nomes de blasfêmia. E ele tinha sete cabeças e dez chifres.
4 and the woman was clothed with purple and scarlet-color, and gilded with gold, and precious stone, and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and uncleanness of her whoredom,
E a mulher estava vestida de púrpura e de escarlate, e adorada com ouro, pedras preciosas, e pérolas; e em sua mão tinha um cálice de ouro cheio das abominações e da impureza de sua prostituição.
5 and on her forehead was a name written: “SECRET, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE WHORES, AND THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
E na testa dela estava escrito um nome: “Mistério: A grande Babilônia, a mãe das prostituições e abominações da terra”.
6 And I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the holy ones, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus, and I wondered—having seen her—with great wonder;
E vi que a mulher estava bêbada do sangue dos santos, e do sangue das testemunhas de Jesus. E eu, ao vê-la, fiquei maravilhado com grande espanto.
7 and the messenger said to me, “For this reason did you wonder? I will tell you the secret of the woman and of the beast that [is] carrying her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
E o anjo me disse: “Por que tu ficaste maravilhado? Eu te direi o mistério da mulher, e da besta que a traz, a qual tem as sete cabeças e os dez chifres.
8 The beast that you saw: it was, and it is not, and it is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go away to destruction, and those dwelling on the earth will wonder, whose names have not been written on the Scroll of Life from the foundation of the world, beholding the beast that was, and is not, although it is. (Abyssos g12)
A besta que tu viste, era, e não é; e está para subir do abismo, e irá para a perdição; e os que habitam sobre a terra (cujos nomes não estão escritos no livro da vida desde a fundação do mundo), ficarão maravilhados ao verem a besta que era, e não é, e ainda é. (Abyssos g12)
9 Here [is] the mind that is having wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits,
Aqui [está] o entendimento que tem sabedoria: as sete cabeças são sete montes, sobre os quais a mulher está sentada;
10 and there are seven kings, the five fell, and the one is, the other did not yet come, and when he may come, it is necessary for him to remain a short time;
E [também] são sete reis, os cinco são caídos; e um é, o outro ainda não chegou; e quando chegar, é necessário que ele continue por um pouco [de tempo].
11 and the beast that was, and is not, he also is eighth, and he is out of the seven, and he goes away to destruction.
E a besta que era, e não é, este é também o oitavo; e é um dos sete, e vai para a perdição.
12 And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who did not yet receive a kingdom, but receive authority as kings one hour with the beast;
E os dez chifres que tu viste são dez reis, que ainda não receberam o reino; mas receberão autoridade como reis por uma hora, [juntamente] com a besta.
13 these have one mind, and they will give over their own power and authority to the beast;
Estes têm uma mesma intenção, e entregarão seu poder e autoridade à besta.
14 these will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and those with Him are called, and chosen, and steadfast.”
Estes batalharão contra o Cordeiro, e o Cordeiro os vencerá, porque ele é o Senhor dos senhores, e o Rei dos reis); e os que estão com ele [são] os chamados, escolhidos, e fiéis.”
15 And he says to me, “The waters that you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues;
E ele me disse: “As águas que viste, onde a prostituta está sentada, são povos, multidões, nações e línguas.
16 and the ten horns that you saw, and the beast, these will hate the whore, and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her in fire,
E os dez chifres que tu viste na besta, estes odiarão a prostituta, e a farão desolada, e nua; e comerão a carne dela, e a queimarão com fogo.
17 for God gave into their hearts to do His purpose, and to make one purpose, and to give their kingdom to the beast until the sayings of God may be fulfilled,
Porque Deus deu em seus corações que cumpram a intenção dele, e tenham uma mesma intenção, e deem o reino deles à besta, até que as palavras de Deus se cumpram.
18 and the woman that you saw is the great city that is having reign over the kings of the earth.”
E a mulher que tu viste é a grande cidade, que tem o reinado sobre os reis da terra.”
