< Revelation 16 >
1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven messengers, “Go away, and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God into the earth”;
Then I heard a loud voice which came out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go, empty the seven bowls of the wrath of God upon the earth."
2 and the first went away, and poured out his bowl into the earth, and there came a sore—bad and grievous—to men, those having the mark of the beast, and those worshiping his image.
The first angel went and poured out his bowl upon the earth. And it was turned to loathsome and painful sores upon all who bore the brand of the beast, and who worshiped his image.
3 And the second messenger poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood as of [one] dead, and every living soul in the sea died.
And the second angel poured out his bowl upon the sea; and it became blood, like the blood of a corpse, and every living creature died - everything in the sea.
4 And the third messenger poured out his bowl into the rivers, and into the fountains of the waters, and there came blood,
And the third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of waters; and they were turned into blood.
5 and I heard the messenger of the waters, saying, “Righteous, O LORD, are You, who is, and who was, [[and who will be, ]] the Holy [One], because You judged these things,
And I heard the angel of the waters saying. "Righteous art thou, thou who art and wast, The Holy One, Because thou didst inflict this judgment.
6 because they poured out [the] blood of holy ones and prophets, and You gave to them blood to drink, for they are worthy”;
For men poured out the blood of thy saints and prophets, And thou hast given them blood to drink. And this they deserved."
7 and I heard another out of the altar, saying, “Yes, LORD God, the Almighty, true and righteous [are] Your judgments.”
And I heard the altar saying, "Yea, O Lord, the Almighty, True and righteous are thy judgments."
8 And the fourth messenger poured out his bowl on the sun, and there was given to him to scorch men with fire,
And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and the sun was permitted to scorch men with fire.
9 and men were scorched with great heat, and they slandered the Name of God, who has authority over these plagues, and they did not convert—to give to Him glory.
And men were scorched with the terrible heat; and they blasphemed the name of the God who had the power over these plagues; yet they repented not, to give him glory.
10 And the fifth messenger poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened, and they were gnawing their tongues from the pain,
And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became darkened, and men gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 and they slandered the God of Heaven, from their pains, and from their sores, and they did not convert from their works.
and they blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their pains and their sores; yet of their deeds they did not repent.
12 And the sixth messenger poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates, and its water was dried up, that the way of the kings who are from the rising of the sun may be made ready;
And the sixth poured his bowl upon the great river, the River Euphrates, and its water was dried up so as to make ready the way for the kings that come from the sunrising.
13 and I saw [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs—
And I saw three unclean spirits, like frogs, coming out of the dragon’s mouth, and the beast’s mouth, and the false prophet’s mouth.
14 for they are spirits of demons, doing signs—which go forth to the kings of the earth, and of the whole world, to bring them together to the battle of that great day of God the Almighty.
For these are the spirits of demons performing miracles, who go forth to the kings of the habitable earth, to gather them together for the battle of the great Day of God, the Almighty.
15 (“Behold, I come as a thief; blessed [is] he who is watching, and keeping his garments, that he may not walk naked, and they may see his unseemliness.”)
Lo, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the who is on the watch and guarding his clothing, so that he may not walk naked, and they gaze on his shame.
16 And they brought them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Armageddon.
And the spirits gathered the kings together at the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
17 And the seventh messenger poured out his bowl on the air, and there came forth a great voice from the temple of Heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
And the seventh poured out his bowl upon the air, and a great voice came forth out of the temple from the throne, saying, "It is finished!"
18 And there came voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and a great earthquake came, such as has not come since men came on the earth, so mighty an earthquake—so great!
And lightnings and voices and thunders and a great earthquake such as had not happened since man began to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty;
19 And it came—the great city—into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the wrath of His anger,
and the great city was shattered into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and great Babylon came to mind before the face of God, to give her the cup of the wine of the passion of his anger.
20 and every island fled away, and mountains were not found,
And every island fled away, and the mountains sank from sight.
21 and great hail (as of talent weight) comes down out of the sky on men, and men slandered God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague is very great.
And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for the plague of it is very great.
