< Revelation 12 >
1 And a great sign was seen in the sky: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars,
And there was a great sign in the heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;
2 and having [a child] in [her] womb she cries out, travailing and being in pain to bring forth.
and being in gestation, she also cries, travailing in pain, and suffering to bring forth.
3 And there was seen another sign in the sky, and behold, a great fire-colored dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads,
And there appeared another sign in the heaven; and behold the great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems:
4 and his tail draws the third of the stars of the sky, and he cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman who is about to bring forth, that when she may bring forth, he may devour her child;
and his tail draws the third of the stars of the heaven, and casts them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman about to bring forth, in order that he may eat up her child when she may bring it forth.
5 and she brought forth a male son, who is about to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, and her child was snatched up to God and to His throne,
And she brought forth a male son, who is about to shepherdize all the nations with an iron rod: and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
6 and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place made ready from God, that there they may nourish her—one thousand, two hundred, sixty days.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has there a place prepared of God, that they may there nourish her a thousand and two hundred and sixty days.
7 And there came war in Heaven: Michael and his messengers warred against the dragon, and the dragon and his messengers warred,
And there was war in the heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon.
8 and they did not prevail, nor was their place found anymore in Heaven;
And the dragon and his angels fought, and they did not prevail; neither was their place found any more in the heaven.
9 and the great dragon was cast forth—the old serpent, who is called “Devil,” and “Satan,” who is leading the whole world astray—he was cast forth to the earth, and his messengers were cast forth with him.
And the great dragon, the old serpent, the one called the devil, and Satan, the one deceiving the whole world, was cast out: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, “Now came the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom, of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers was cast down, who is accusing them before our God day and night;
And I heard a great voice in the heaven saying, Now has come salvation, and power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: because the accuser of our brethren, the one accusing them before our God day and night, is cast out.
11 and they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life—to death;
And they conquered him through the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony; and with divine love they love not their life unto death.
12 because of this be glad, you heavens, and those who dwell in them; woe to those inhabiting the earth and the sea, because the Devil went down to you, having great wrath, having known that he has [a] short time.”
Therefore rejoice, O ye heavens, and those dwelling in them; woe unto the earth and the sea! because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has little time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast forth to the earth, he pursued the woman who brought forth the male,
And when the dragon saw that he was cast out into the earth, he persecuted the woman, who brought forth the male child.
14 and there were given to the woman two wings of the great eagle, that she may fly into the wilderness, to her place, where she is nourished a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent;
And the two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly away into the wilderness, into her own place, where she is there nourished a time, and times, and a half time, from the face of the serpent.
15 and the serpent cast forth out of his mouth water as a river after the woman, that he may cause her to be carried away by the river,
And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.
16 and the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon cast forth out of his mouth;
And the earth helped the woman; and the earth opened her mouth, and drank up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 and the dragon was angry against the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commands of God, and having the testimony of Jesus.
And the dragon was enraged at the woman, and went away to make war with the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.
