Revelation 10

1 And I saw another strong messenger coming down out of Heaven, clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow on the head, and his face as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire,

Dann sah ich einen anderen starken Engel aus dem Himmel niedersteigen. Der war bekleidet mit einer Wolke, ein Regenbogen war auf seinem Haupt, sein Antlitz strahlte wie die Sonne, und seine Füße glichen Feuersäulen.

2 and he had in his hand a little scroll opened, and he placed his right foot on the sea, and the left on the land,

In seiner Hand hatte er ein offenes kleines Buch. Er setzte seinen rechten Fuß auf das Meer, den linken auf das Land

3 and he cried with a great voice, as a lion roars, and when he cried, the seven thunders spoke out their voices;

und rief mit lauter Stimme, als wenn ein Löwe brüllt. Und als er rief, da ließen die sieben Donner ihre Stimme erschallen.

4 and when the seven thunders spoke their voices, I was about to write, and I heard a voice out of Heaven saying to me, “Seal the things that the seven thunders spoke,” and, “You may not write these things.”

Als die sieben Donner geredet hatten, wollte ich ihre Botschaft niederschreiben. Da hörte ich eine Stimme aus dem Himmel sagen: "Versiegele, was die sieben Donner geredet haben, und schreibe es nicht nieder!"

5 And the messenger whom I saw standing on the sea, and on the land, lifted up his hand to the sky,

Nun hob der Engel, den ich auf dem Meer und auf dem Land stehen sah, seine rechte Hand zum Himmel auf

6 and swore by Him who lives through the ages of the ages, who created the sky and the things in it, and the land and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it—that time will not be yet, (aiōn g165)

und schwur bei dem, der lebt in alle Ewigkeit, der den Himmel und was darin ist, die Erde und was darauf ist und das Meer und was darin ist geschaffen hat: "Es soll jetzt kein Verzug mehr sein! (aiōn g165)

7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh messenger, when he may be about to sound the trumpet, and the secret of God may be accomplished, as He declared to His own servants, to the prophets.

Sondern in den Tagen, wenn der siebente Engel sich anschickt zu posaunen, da vollendet sich der geheime Ratschluß Gottes, wie er ihn seinen Knechten, den Propheten, als Frohe Botschaft kundgetan."

8 And the voice that I heard out of Heaven is again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take the little scroll that is open in the hand of the messenger who has been standing on the sea, and on the land”:

Dann redete die Stimme, die ich vom Himmel aus gehört, ein andermal mit mir und sprach: "Geh, nimm das Buch, das offen daliegt in der Hand des Engels, der auf dem Meer und auf dem Land steht!"

9 and I went away to the messenger, saying to him, “Give me the little scroll”; and he says to me, “Take, and eat it up, and it will make your belly bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”

Da ging ich zu dem Engel und bat ihn, mir das kleine Buch zu geben. Und er sprach zu mir: "Nimm und verzehre es! Es wird dir zwar in deinem Magen Bitterkeit bereiten, in deinem Mund aber wird es süß wie Honig sein."

10 And I took the little scroll out of the hand of the messenger, and ate it up, and it was in my mouth sweet as honey, and when I ate it my belly was made bitter;

So nahm ich denn das Büchlein aus des Engels Hand und aß es, und wirklich war's in meinem Mund süß wie Honig. Doch als ich es gegessen hatte, da ward es mir im Magen bitter.

11 and he says to me, “You must again prophesy about many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”

Und eine Stimme sprach zu mir: "Du mußt noch einmal weissagen über viele Völker, Scharen, Sprachen und Könige."
