Psalms 97

1 YHWH has reigned, The earth is joyful, many islands rejoice.

HERREN har vist, han er Konge! Jorden juble, lad glædes de mange Strande!

2 Cloud and darkness [are] around Him, Righteousness and judgment the basis of His throne.

Skyer og Mulm er om ham, Retfærd og Ret er hans Trones Støtte;

3 Fire goes before Him, And burns around His adversaries.

Ild farer frem foran ham, og luer iblandt hans Fjender.

4 His lightnings have lightened the world, The earth has seen, and is pained.

Hans Lyn lyste op på Jorderig, Jorden så det og skjalv;

5 Hills, like wax, melted before YHWH, Before the Lord of all the earth.

Bjergene smelted som Voks for HERREN, for hele Jordens Herre;

6 The heavens declared His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory.

Himlen forkyndte hans Retfærd, alle Folkeslag skued hans Herlighed.

7 All servants of a carved image are ashamed, Those boasting themselves in idols, Bow yourselves to Him, all you gods.

Til Skamme blev alle, som dyrkede Billeder, de, som var stolte af deres Afguder; alle Guder bøjed sig for ham.

8 Zion has heard and rejoices, And daughters of Judah are joyful, Because of Your judgments, O YHWH.

Zion hørte det og glædede sig, og Judas Døtre jublede over dine Domme, HERRE!

9 For You, YHWH, [are] Most High over all the earth, You have been exalted greatly over all gods.

Thi du, o HERRE, er den Højeste over al Jorden, højt ophøjet over alle Guder!

10 You who love YHWH, hate evil, He is keeping the souls of His saints, He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

I, som elsker HERREN, hade det onde! Han vogter sine frommes Sjæle og frier dem af de gudløses Hånd;

11 Light [is] sown for the righteous, And joy for the upright of heart.

over de retfærdige oprinder Lys og Glæde over de oprigtige af Hjertet.

12 Rejoice, you righteous, in YHWH, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness!

I retfærdige, glæd jer i HERREN, lovsyng hans hellige Navn!
