Psalms 94
1 God of vengeance—YHWH! God of vengeance, shine forth.
Oh Thixo, uNkulunkulu ophindiselayo, Oh Nkulunkulu ophindiselayo, khanya uvele.
2 Be lifted up, judging the earth, Send back a repayment on the proud.
Phakama, awu Mahluli womhlaba; baphindisele abazigqajayo ngokubafaneleyo.
3 Until when do the wicked, O YHWH—Until when do the wicked exult?
Koze kube nini ababi, Oh Thixo, koze kube nini ababi beklamasa na?
4 They utter—they speak arrogance, All working iniquity boast [about] themselves.
Bathulula amazwi okukloloda; zonke izigangi zifuthelene ngokuzikhukhumeza.
5 Your people, O YHWH, they bruise, And they afflict Your inheritance.
Ziyabanyathezela abantu bakho, Oh Thixo; zincindezela ilifa lakho.
6 They slay widow and sojourner, And they murder fatherless ones.
Zibulala umfelokazi kanye lowezizweni; zibulala intandane.
7 And they say, “YAH does not see, And the God of Jacob does not consider.”
Zithi, “UThixo kaboni; uNkulunkulu kaJakhobe kananzi.”
8 Consider, you brutish among the people, And you foolish, when do you act wisely?
Limukani, lina elingelangqondo phakathi kwabantu; lina ziphukuphuku, lizahlakanipha nini?
9 He who plants the ear, does He not hear? He who forms the eye, does He not see?
Yena lowo owayigxumekayo indlebe kezwa yini? Yena lowo owabumba ilihlo kaboni na?
10 He who is instructing nations, does He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge [is] YHWH.
Yena lowo oqondisa izizwe kajezisi yini? Yena lowo ofundisa umuntu kalalwazi na?
11 He knows the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
UThixo uyayazi imicabango yomuntu; uyayazi ukuthi iyize nje.
12 O the blessedness of the man Whom You instruct, O YAH, And teach him out of Your law,
Ubusisiwe umuntu omqondisayo, Oh Thixo, umuntu omfundisa okomthetho wakho;
13 To give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is dug for the wicked.
uyamphumuza ensukwini zokuhlupheka, kuze kuthi ababi bembelwe igodi.
14 For YHWH does not leave His people, And does not forsake His inheritance.
Ngoba uThixo kazukwala abantu bakhe; kasoze lanini afulathele ilifa lakhe.
15 For judgment turns back to righteousness, And after it all the upright of heart.
Ukwahlulela kuzaphinda njalo kumiswe ngokulunga, kuthi bonke abaqotho ngenhliziyo bakulandele.
16 Who rises up for me with evildoers? Who stations himself for me with workers of iniquity?
Ngubani ozangimela ekulweni lababi na? Ngubani ozangelekelela ekulweni lezigangi na?
17 Unless YHWH [were] a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.
Aluba uThixo wayengangelulekanga, ngabe ngahle ngahlala ngathula zwi ekufeni.
18 If I have said, “My foot has slipped,” Your kindness, O YHWH, supports me.
Lapho ngasengisithi, “Unyawo lwami selutshelela,” uthando lwakho, Oh Thixo, lwangisekela.
19 In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
Nxa ukunqineka kwase kungikhulela, induduzo yakho yaletha intokozo emphefumulweni wami.
20 Is a throne of mischief joined [with] You? A framer of perverseness by statute?
Kambe isihlalo sobukhosi esixhwalileyo singema lawe yini leso esiletha inhlupheko ngezimemezelo zaso?
21 They decree against the soul of the righteous, And declare innocent blood wicked.
Bayahlangana ukumelana labalungileyo ongelacala agwetshelwe ukufa.
22 And YHWH is for a high place to me, And my God [is] for a rock—my refuge,
Kodwa uThixo useyinqaba yami, loNkulunkulu wami ulidwala engiphephela kulo.
23 And He turns back their iniquity on them, And in their wickedness cuts them off; Our God YHWH cuts them off!
Uzabaphindisela ngenxa yezono zabo ababhubhise ngenxa yobubi babo; uThixo uNkulunkulu wethu uzababhubhisa.
