< Psalms 92 >
1 A PSALM. A SONG FOR THE SABBATH DAY. [It is] good to give thanks to YHWH, And to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High,
A psalm. A song; for the sabbath day. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praise to your name, O Most High,
2 To declare Your kindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness in the nights.
to declare your love in the morning, and your faithfulness in the night,
3 On ten strings and on stringed instrument, On (higgaion) with harp.
with voice and a ten-stringed harp, with music that throbs on the lyre.
4 For You have caused me to rejoice, O YHWH, in Your work, I sing concerning the works of Your hands.
For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord, at the work of your hands I will ring out my joy.
5 How great Your works have been, O YHWH, Your thoughts have been very deep.
How great are your works, O Lord; how deep are your thoughts!
6 A brutish man does not know, And a fool does not understand this—
The insensitive cannot know, nor can a fool understand,
7 When the wicked flourish as an herb, And all workers of iniquity blossom—For their being destroyed forever and ever!
that, though the wicked flourish like grass, and evildoers all blossom, they will perish forever.
8 And You [are] high for all time, O YHWH.
But you are exalted forever.
9 For behold, Your enemies, O YHWH, For behold, Your enemies perish, All workers of iniquity separate themselves.
For see! Your enemies, Lord For see! Your enemies perish, all evildoers are scattered.
10 And You exalt my horn as a wild ox, I have been anointed with fresh oil.
But you lift me to honour, and anoint me afresh with oil.
11 And my eye looks on my enemies, Of those rising up against me, The evildoers, my ears hear.
My eyes will feast on my foes, and my ears will hear of the doom of the wicked.
12 The righteous flourish as a palm-tree, He grows as a cedar in Lebanon.
The righteous will sprout like the palm, will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
13 Those planted in the house of YHWH, In the courts of our God, flourish.
In the house of the Lord are they planted, in the courts of our God they will sprout.
14 Still they bring forth in old age, They are fat and flourishing,
They will still bear fruit in old age, all sappy and fresh will they be
15 To declare that YHWH my Rock [is] upright, And there is no perverseness in Him!
So they proclaim the Lord to be just, my rock, in whom is no wrong.
