Psalms 91

1 He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, Habitually lodges in the shade of the Mighty,

അത്യുന്നതനെ ആശ്രയമാക്കി വസിക്കുന്നവർ സർവശക്തന്റെ തണലിൽ വിശ്രമിക്കും.

2 He is saying of YHWH, “My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,”

ഞാൻ യഹോവയെക്കുറിച്ച്, “അവിടന്നാണ് എന്റെ സങ്കേതവും കോട്ടയും ഞാൻ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ദൈവവും,” എന്നു പറയും.

3 For He delivers you from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.

അവിടന്നു നിശ്ചയമായും നിന്നെ വേട്ടക്കാരുടെ കെണിയിൽനിന്നും മാരകമായ പകർച്ചവ്യാധിയിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും.

4 He covers you over with His pinion, And under His wings you trust, His truth [is] a shield and buckler.

തന്റെ തൂവലുകൾകൊണ്ട് അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ മറയ്ക്കും, അവിടത്തെ ചിറകിൻകീഴിൽ നീ അഭയംകണ്ടെത്തും; അവിടത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തത നിനക്ക് പരിചയും കോട്ടയും ആയിരിക്കും.

5 You are not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flies by day,

രാത്രിയുടെ ഭീകരതയോ പകലിൽ ചീറിപ്പായുന്ന അസ്ത്രമോ

6 Of pestilence that walks in thick darkness, Of destruction that destroys at noon,

ഇരുളിന്റെ മറവിൽ വ്യാപിക്കുന്ന പകർച്ചവ്യാധിയോ നട്ടുച്ചയ്ക്കു വന്നുചേരുന്ന അത്യാപത്തോ നീ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല.

7 One thousand fall at your side, And a myriad at your right hand, [But] it does not come near to you.

നിന്റെ വശത്ത് ആയിരംപേരും നിന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് പതിനായിരംപേരും വീഴും. എങ്കിലും അതു നിന്നോട് അടുക്കുകയില്ല.

8 But with your eyes you look, And you see the reward of the wicked,

നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾകൊണ്ട് നീ നോക്കുകയും ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ശിക്ഷ നീ കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും.

9 (For You, O YHWH, [are] my refuge), You made the Most High your habitation.

യഹോവയെ നിന്റെ സങ്കേതവും അത്യുന്നതനെ നിന്റെ നിവാസസ്ഥാനവും ആക്കുമെങ്കിൽ,

10 Evil does not happen to you, And a plague does not come near your tent,

ഒരു അത്യാപത്തും നിനക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല, ഒരു ദുരന്തവും നിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിന് അടുത്തെത്തുകയില്ല.

11 For He charges His messengers for you, To keep you in all your ways,

കാരണം അവിടന്ന് തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോട് നിന്റെ എല്ലാ വഴികളിലും നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കും;

12 On the hands they bear you up, Lest you strike your foot against a stone.

അവർ നിന്റെ പാദങ്ങൾ കല്ലിൽ മുട്ടാതെ നിന്നെ അവരുടെ കരങ്ങളിലേന്തും.

13 You tread on lion and cobra, You trample young lion and dragon.

സിംഹത്തെയും അണലിയെയും നീ ചതയ്ക്കും; സിംഹക്കുട്ടികളെയും മഹാസർപ്പത്തെയും നീ മെതിക്കും.

14 Because he has delighted in Me, I also deliver him—I set him on high, Because he has known My Name.

അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, “എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ മോചിപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ സംരക്ഷിക്കും.

15 He calls Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honor him.

അവർ എന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും, ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് ഉത്തരമരുളും; കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ അവരോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടാകും, ഞാൻ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ച് ബഹുമാനിക്കും.

16 I satisfy him with [the] length of [his] days, And I cause him to look on My salvation!

ദീർഘായുസ്സ് നൽകി ഞാൻ അവരെ തൃപ്തരാക്കും എന്റെ രക്ഷ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.”
