< Psalms 91 >

1 He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, Habitually lodges in the shade of the Mighty,
2 He is saying of YHWH, “My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,”
3 For He delivers you from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.
Thi han frier dig fra Fuglefængerens Snare, fra ødelæggende Pest;
4 He covers you over with His pinion, And under His wings you trust, His truth [is] a shield and buckler.
5 You are not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flies by day,
6 Of pestilence that walks in thick darkness, Of destruction that destroys at noon,
ej Pesten, der sniger i Mørke, ej Middagens hærgende Sot.
7 One thousand fall at your side, And a myriad at your right hand, [But] it does not come near to you.
Falder end tusinde ved din Side, ti Tusinde ved din højre Hånd, til dig når det ikke hen;
8 But with your eyes you look, And you see the reward of the wicked,
du ser det kun med dit Øje, er kun Tilskuer ved de gudløses Straf;
9 (For You, O YHWH, [are] my refuge), You made the Most High your habitation.
10 Evil does not happen to you, And a plague does not come near your tent,
Der times dig intet ondt, dit Telt kommer Plage ej nær;
11 For He charges His messengers for you, To keep you in all your ways,
thi han byder sine Engle at vogte dig på alle dine Veje;
12 On the hands they bear you up, Lest you strike your foot against a stone.
de skal bære dig på deres Hænder, at du ikke skal støde din Fod på nogen Sten;
13 You tread on lion and cobra, You trample young lion and dragon.
14 Because he has delighted in Me, I also deliver him—I set him on high, Because he has known My Name.
"Da han klynger sig til mig, frier jeg ham ud, jeg bjærger ham, thi han kender mit Navn;
15 He calls Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honor him.
16 I satisfy him with [the] length of [his] days, And I cause him to look on My salvation!
