Psalms 84

1 TO THE OVERSEER. ON THE GITTITH. A PSALM OF THE SONS OF KORAH. How beloved Your dwelling places, YHWH of Hosts!

Ein Psalm der Kinder Korah, auf der Githith vorzusingen. Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen, HERR Zebaoth!

2 My soul desired, indeed, it has also been consumed, For the courts of YHWH, My heart and my flesh cry aloud to the living God,

Meine Seele verlanget und sehnet sich nach den Vorhöfen des HERRN; mein Leib und Seele freuen sich in dem lebendigen Gott.

3 Even a sparrow has found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she has placed her brood—Your altars, O YHWH of Hosts, My king and my God.

Denn der Vogel hat ein Haus funden und die Schwalbe ihr Nest, da sie Junge hecken, nämlich deine Altäre, HERR Zebaoth, mein König und mein Gott!

4 O the blessedness of those inhabiting Your house, Yet they praise You. (Selah)

Wohl denen, die in deinem Hause wohnen; die loben dich immerdar. (Sela)

5 O the blessedness of a man whose strength is in You, Highways [are] in their heart.

Wohl den Menschen, die dich für ihre Stärke halten und von Herzen dir nach wandeln,

6 Those passing through a valley of weeping make it a spring, The early rain covers it with pools.

die durch das Jammertal gehen und machen daselbst Brunnen. Und die Lehrer werden mit viel Segen geschmückt.

7 They go from strength to strength, He appears to God in Zion.

Sie erhalten einen Sieg nach dem andern, daß man sehen muß, der rechte Gott sei zu Zion.

8 O YHWH, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)

HERR, Gott Zebaoth, höre mein Gebet; vernimm es, Gott Jakobs! (Sela)

9 Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Your anointed,

Gott, unser Schild, schaue doch; siehe an das Reich deines Gesalbten!

10 For a day in Your courts [is] good, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.

Denn ein Tag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser denn sonst tausend. Ich will lieber der Tür hüten in meines Gottes Hause, denn lange wohnen in der Gottlosen Hütten.

11 For YHWH God [is] a sun and a shield, YHWH gives grace and glory. He does not withhold good To those walking in uprightness.

Denn Gott der HERR ist Sonne und Schild, der HERR gibt Gnade und Ehre; er wird kein Gutes mangeln lassen den Frommen.

12 YHWH of Hosts! O the blessedness of a man trusting in You.
