Psalms 84
1 TO THE OVERSEER. ON THE GITTITH. A PSALM OF THE SONS OF KORAH. How beloved Your dwelling places, YHWH of Hosts!
Au maître-chantre. — Des enfants de Coré. — Sur la Guittith. — Psaume. Que tes demeures sont aimables, Éternel des armées!
2 My soul desired, indeed, it has also been consumed, For the courts of YHWH, My heart and my flesh cry aloud to the living God,
Mon âme se consume, elle languit Après les parvis de l'Éternel. Mon coeur et ma chair font monter leurs cris de joie Vers le Dieu vivant.
3 Even a sparrow has found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she has placed her brood—Your altars, O YHWH of Hosts, My king and my God.
Le passereau même trouve bien un asile, Et l'hirondelle un nid où elle met ses petits! Tes autels, ô Éternel des armées, Mon Roi et mon Dieu!
4 O the blessedness of those inhabiting Your house, Yet they praise You. (Selah)
Heureux ceux qui habitent dans ta maison: Ils peuvent te louer sans cesse! (Pause)
5 O the blessedness of a man whose strength is in You, Highways [are] in their heart.
Heureux l'homme dont la force est en toi; Heureux ceux qui aiment le chemin de ta maison!
6 Those passing through a valley of weeping make it a spring, The early rain covers it with pools.
Quand ils traversent la vallée de Baca. Ils la changent en fontaines, Et les pluies la couvrent de bénédictions.
7 They go from strength to strength, He appears to God in Zion.
Leurs forces augmentent, à mesure qu'ils s'avancent Pour se présenter devant Dieu, en Sion.
8 O YHWH, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
Éternel, Dieu des armées, écoute ma prière! Dieu de Jacob, prête l'oreille! (Pause)
9 Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Your anointed,
Toi, ô Dieu, qui es notre bouclier, regarde. Et jette les yeux sur ton oint!
10 For a day in Your courts [is] good, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.
Car un jour dans tes parvis vaut mieux que mille ailleurs. J'aime mieux me tenir sur le seuil de la maison de mon Dieu, Que demeurer dans les tentes des méchants.
11 For YHWH God [is] a sun and a shield, YHWH gives grace and glory. He does not withhold good To those walking in uprightness.
Oui, l'Éternel Dieu est un soleil et un boucher; L'Éternel donne la grâce et la gloire; Il ne refuse aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité.
12 YHWH of Hosts! O the blessedness of a man trusting in You.
Éternel des armées. Heureux l'homme qui se confie en toi!
