Psalms 82

1 A PSALM OF ASAPH. God has stood in the congregation of God, He judges among the gods.

מִזְמוֹר לְאָסָף אֱ‍ֽלֹהִים נִצָּב בַּעֲדַת־אֵל בְּקֶרֶב אֱלֹהִים יִשְׁפֹּֽט׃

2 Until when do you judge perversely? And lift up the face of the wicked? (Selah)

עַד־מָתַי תִּשְׁפְּטוּ־עָוֶל וּפְנֵי רְשָׁעִים תִּשְׂאוּ־סֶֽלָה׃

3 Judge the weak and fatherless, Declare the afflicted and the poor righteous.

שִׁפְטוּ־דַל וְיָתוֹם עָנִי וָרָשׁ הַצְדִּֽיקוּ׃

4 Let the weak and needy escape, Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

פַּלְּטוּ־דַל וְאֶבְיוֹן מִיַּד רְשָׁעִים הַצִּֽילוּ׃

5 They did not know, nor do they understand, They habitually walk in darkness, All the foundations of earth are moved.

לֹא יָֽדְעוּ ׀ וְלֹא יָבִינוּ בַּחֲשֵׁכָה יִתְהַלָּכוּ יִמּוֹטוּ כָּל־מוֹסְדֵי אָֽרֶץ׃

6 I have said, “You [are] gods, And sons of the Most High—all of you,

אֲ‍ֽנִי־אָמַרְתִּי אֱלֹהִים אַתֶּם וּבְנֵי עֶלְיוֹן כֻּלְּכֶֽם׃

7 But you die as man, and you fall as one of the heads.”

אָכֵן כְּאָדָם תְּמוּתוּן וּכְאַחַד הַשָּׂרִים תִּפֹּֽלוּ׃

8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For You have inheritance among all the nations!

קוּמָה אֱלֹהִים שָׁפְטָה הָאָרֶץ כִּֽי־אַתָּה תִנְחַל בְּכָל־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
