Psalms 82

1 A PSALM OF ASAPH. God has stood in the congregation of God, He judges among the gods.

Ein Psalm Asaphs. Gott steht da in der Gottes-Versammlung, inmitten von Göttern hält er Gericht.

2 Until when do you judge perversely? And lift up the face of the wicked? (Selah)

Wie lange wollt ihr ungerecht richten und für die Gottlosen Partei ergreifen? (Sela)

3 Judge the weak and fatherless, Declare the afflicted and the poor righteous.

Führt die Sache der Geringen und Verwaisten; den Elenden und Dürftigen helft zum Recht!

4 Let the weak and needy escape, Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Errettet die Geringen und Armen, befreit sie aus der Gewalt der Gottlosen!

5 They did not know, nor do they understand, They habitually walk in darkness, All the foundations of earth are moved.

Sie sind ohne Einsicht und ohne Verstand; in Finsternis gehen sie einher: es wanken alle Grundfesten der Erde.

6 I have said, “You [are] gods, And sons of the Most High—all of you,

Wohl habe ich gesagt: Ihr seid Götter und insgesamt Söhne des Höchsten:

7 But you die as man, and you fall as one of the heads.”

“Wahrlich, wie Menschen sollt ihr sterben und wie einer der Oberen fallen!”

8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For You have inheritance among all the nations!

Auf, o Gott, richte die Erde; denn du bist Erbherr über alle Heiden!
