Psalms 82

1 A PSALM OF ASAPH. God has stood in the congregation of God, He judges among the gods.

Psaume d'Asaph. Dieu se tient dans l'assemblée divine; Il juge au milieu des dieux.

2 Until when do you judge perversely? And lift up the face of the wicked? (Selah)

«Jusques à quand rendrez-vous des jugements iniques Et prendrez-vous parti pour les méchants? (Pause)

3 Judge the weak and fatherless, Declare the afflicted and the poor righteous.

Faites droit au faible et à l'orphelin; Rendez justice au misérable et à l'indigent.

4 Let the weak and needy escape, Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Délivrez le faible et le pauvre; Sauvez-les de la main des méchants!»

5 They did not know, nor do they understand, They habitually walk in darkness, All the foundations of earth are moved.

Mais ils ne veulent rien entendre, rien comprendre. Ils marchent dans les ténèbres; Tous les fondements de la terre sont ébranlés.

6 I have said, “You [are] gods, And sons of the Most High—all of you,

J'avais dit: «Vous êtes des dieux; Vous êtes tous des fils du Très-Haut!»

7 But you die as man, and you fall as one of the heads.”

Néanmoins, vous mourrez comme les autres hommes; Vous succomberez comme tous les grands de ce monde!

8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For You have inheritance among all the nations!

Lève-toi, ô Dieu; juge la terre! Car tous les peuples font partie de ton héritage.
