Psalms 8

1 TO THE OVERSEER. ON THE GITTITH. A PSALM OF DAVID. YHWH, our Lord, How majestic [is] Your Name in all the earth, Who have set Your splendor on the heavens!

۱ برای سالار مغنیان برجتیت. مزمور داود ای یهوه خداوند ما، چه مجید است نام تودر تمامی زمین، که جلال خود را فوق آسمانها گذارده‌ای!

2 From the mouths of infants and sucklings You have founded strength, Because of Your adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

۲ از زبان کودکان وشیرخوارگان به‌سبب خصمانت قوت را بنا نهادی تا دشمن و انتقام گیرنده را ساکت گردانی.

3 For I see Your heavens, a work of Your fingers, [The] moon and stars that You established.

۳ چون به آسمان تو نگاه کنم که صنعت انگشتهای توست، و به ماه و ستارگانی که تو آفریده‌ای،

4 What [is] man that You remember him? The son of man that You inspect him?

۴ پس انسان چیست که او را به یادآوری، وبنی آدم که از او تفقد نمایی؟

5 You make him a little lower than the gods [[or God]], And surround him with glory and majesty.

۵ او را از فرشتگان اندکی کمتر ساختی و تاج جلال و اکرام را بر سراو گذاردی.

6 You cause him to rule Over the works of Your hands, You have placed all under his feet.

۶ او را بر کارهای دست خودت مسلط نمودی، و همه‌چیز را زیر پای وی نهادی،

7 Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

۷ گوسفندان و گاوان جمیع، و بهایم صحرا را نیز؛

8 Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!

۸ مرغان هوا و ماهیان دریا را، و هر‌چه بر راههای آبها سیر می‌کند.

9 YHWH, our Lord, How majestic [is] Your Name in all the earth!

۹ ‌ای یهوه خداوند ما، چه مجیداست نام تو در تمامی زمین!
