Psalms 8

1 TO THE OVERSEER. ON THE GITTITH. A PSALM OF DAVID. YHWH, our Lord, How majestic [is] Your Name in all the earth, Who have set Your splendor on the heavens!

Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Pa gititi. Salimo la Davide. Inu Yehova Ambuye athu, dzina lanu ndi la lamphamvudi pa dziko lonse lapansi! Inu mwakhazikitsa ulemerero wanu mʼmayiko onse akumwamba.

2 From the mouths of infants and sucklings You have founded strength, Because of Your adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

Kuchokera mʼkamwa mwa ana ndi makanda, Inu mwakhazikitsa mphamvu chifukwa cha adani anu, kukhazikitsa bata adani ndi anthu obwezera zoyipa.

3 For I see Your heavens, a work of Your fingers, [The] moon and stars that You established.

Pamene ndilingalira za mayiko anu akumwamba, ntchito ya zala zanu, mwezi ndi nyenyezi, zimene mwaziyika pa malo ake,

4 What [is] man that You remember him? The son of man that You inspect him?

munthu ndani kuti Inu mumamukumbukira, ndi mwana wa munthu kuti inu mumacheza naye?

5 You make him a little lower than the gods [[or God]], And surround him with glory and majesty.

Inu munamupanga kukhala wocheperapo kusiyana ndi zolengedwa zakumwamba ndipo mwamuveka ulemerero ndi ulemu.

6 You cause him to rule Over the works of Your hands, You have placed all under his feet.

Inu munamuyika wolamulira ntchito ya manja anu; munayika zinthu zonse pansi pa mapazi ake;

7 Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

nkhosa, mbuzi ndi ngʼombe pamodzi ndi nyama zakuthengo,

8 Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!

mbalame zamlengalenga ndi nsomba zamʼnyanja zonse zimene zimayenda pansi pa nyanja.

9 YHWH, our Lord, How majestic [is] Your Name in all the earth!

Inu Yehova, Ambuye athu, dzina lanu ndi lamphamvudi pa dziko lonse lapansi!
