Psalms 78
1 AN INSTRUCTION OF ASAPH. Give ear, O my people, to my law, Incline your ear to sayings of my mouth.
১আসফের মস্কীল। হে আমার লোকেরা, আমার উপদেশ শোন, আমার মুখের কথা শোন।
2 I open my mouth with an allegory, I bring forth hidden things of old,
২আমি একটা জ্ঞানের গান গাব, আমি অতীতের গোপন বিষয়ে বলব,
3 That we have heard and know, And our fathers have recounted to us.
৩যা আমরা শুনেছি এবং জেনেছি তা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা আমাদেরকে বলেছিলেন।
4 We do not hide from their sons, Recounting praises of YHWH to a later generation, And His strength, and His wonders that He has done.
৪আমরা সে সকল তাদের সন্তানদের কাছে গোপন করব না, আমরা সদাপ্রভুুর গৌরব যোগ্য কাজের বিষয় পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের কাছে বলব,
5 And He raises up a testimony in Jacob, And has placed a law in Israel, That He commanded our fathers, To make them known to their sons.
৫কারণ তিনি যাকোবের মধ্যে নিয়মের আদেশ স্থাপন করিয়েছিলেন এবং ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে ব্যবস্থা স্থাপন করিয়েছেন। তিনি আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন যে তারা নিজেদের সন্তানদের তা শেখাবে।
6 So that a later generation knows, Sons who are born, rise and recount to their sons,
৬তিনি তা আদেশ করেছিলেন যেন পরবর্তী প্রজন্ম এই আদেশ জানতে পারে, যে সকল সন্তান এখনও জন্মায় নি, তারা তা জানতে পারে এবং তারা যেন আবার নিজের নিজের সন্তানদের কাছে বর্ণনা করতে পারে।
7 And place their confidence in God, And do not forget the doings of God, But keep His commands.
৭তখন তারা তাদের আশা ঈশ্বরে স্থাপন করবে এবং তাঁর কাজ ভুলবে না কিন্তু তাঁর আদেশ সকল পালন করবে।
8 And they are not like their fathers, A generation apostatizing and being rebellious, A generation—it has not prepared its heart, Nor [is] its spirit steadfast with God.
৮তখন তারা আর তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের মত হবে না, যারা জেদী ও বিদ্রোহী বংশ ছিল; সেই বংশ যাদের হৃদয় যথাযথ ছিল না এবং যাদের আত্মা ঈশ্বরের প্রতি বিশ্বস্ত ছিল না।
9 Sons of Ephraim—armed bearers of bow, Have turned in a day of conflict.
৯ইফ্রয়িমরা ধনুক দ্বারা যুদ্ধের সাজে সেজে ছিল, কিন্তু যুদ্ধের দিনের তারা যুদ্ধ থেকে ফিরে গেল।
10 They have not kept the covenant of God, And they have refused to walk in His law,
১০তারা ঈশ্বরের নিয়ম পালন করল না এবং তারা তাঁর ব্যবস্থার বাধ্য হতে অস্বীকার করল।
11 And they forget His doings, And His wonders that He showed them.
১১তারা তাঁর কাজ ভুলে গেল, সেই সকল আশ্চর্য্য কার্য্য, যা তিনি তাদেরকে দেখিয়ে ছিলেন।
12 He has done wonders before their fathers, In the land of Egypt—the field of Zoan.
১২তিনি তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের চোখের সামনে নানা আশ্চর্য্য কার্য্য করেছিলেন। মিশর দেশে, সোয়নের দেশে করেছিলেন।
13 He cleft a sea, and causes them to pass over, Indeed, He causes waters to stand as a heap.
১৩তিনি সমুদ্রকে ভাগ করে তাদেরকে পার করিয়ে ছিলেন, তিনি জলকে দেওয়ালের মত দাঁড় করিয়েছিলেন।
14 And leads them with a cloud by day, And with a light of fire all the night.
১৪তিনি দিনের তাদের মেঘ হয়ে পরিচালনা দিতেন এবং সমস্ত রাত্রি আগুনের আলো হয়ে পরিচালনা দিতেন।
15 He cleaves rocks in a wilderness, And gives drink—as the great deep.
১৫তিনি মরুপ্রান্তে শৈল ভেদ করলেন এবং তিনি তাদেরকে প্রচুর জল দিলেন, যথেষ্ট পরিমাণে সমুদ্রের মত দিলেন।
16 And brings out streams from a rock, And causes waters to come down as rivers.
১৬তিনি শৈল থেকে ঝর্না বার করলেন এবং নদীর জলের মত বওয়ালেন।
17 And they still add to sin against Him, To provoke the Most High in the dry place.
১৭তবুও তারা বার বার তার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করল, মরুপ্রান্তে মহান সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করল;
18 And they try God in their heart, To ask food for their lust.
১৮তারা খাবার চাওয়ার মধ্যে দিয়ে, স্ব-ইচ্ছায় ঈশ্বরের পরীক্ষা করল।
19 And they speak against God—they said: “Is God able to array a table in a wilderness?”
১৯তারা ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলল; তার বলল, “ঈশ্বর কি সত্যি মরুপ্রান্তে আমাদের জন্য মেজ সাজাতে পারেন?
20 Behold, He has struck a rock, And waters flow, indeed, streams overflow. “Also, [is] He able to give bread? Does He prepare flesh for His people?”
২০দেখ, তিনি যখন শৈলকে আঘাত করলেন, জলের ধারা বেরিয়ে এসেছিল এবং ঝর্নার ধারা প্রবাহিত হয়েছিল৷ কিন্তু তিনি কি খাবার দিতে পারেন? তিনি কি নিজের প্রজাদের জন্য মাংস যোগাতে পারেন?”
21 Therefore YHWH has heard, And He shows Himself angry, And fire has been kindled against Jacob, And anger has also gone up against Israel,
২১যখন সদাপ্রভুু তা শুনলেন, তিনি রেগে গেলেন; তাই আগুন যাকোবের বিরুদ্ধে জ্বলে উঠেছিল এবং তাঁর রাগ ইস্রায়েলকে আক্রমণ করেছিল,
22 For they have not believed in God, Nor have they trusted in His salvation.
২২কারণ তারা ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস করত না এবং তাঁর পরিত্রাণে নির্ভর করত না।
23 And He commands clouds from above, Indeed, He has opened doors of the heavens.
২৩তবু তিনি উপরের আকাশকে আদেশ দিলেন এবং আকাশের দ্বারগুলি খুলে দিলেন।
24 And He rains manna on them to eat, Indeed, He has given grain of the heavens to them.
২৪তিনি তাদের খাবারের জন্য মান্না বর্ষালেন এবং তাদেরকে স্বর্গের শস্য দিলেন।
25 Each has eaten food of the mighty, He sent provision to them to satiety.
২৫মানুষেরা দূতেদের খাবার খেল; তিনি তাদের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত পরিমানে খাবার পাঠালেন।
26 He causes an east wind to journey in the heavens, And leads a south wind by His strength,
২৬তিনি আকাশে পূর্বীয় বায়ু বয়ালেন এবং নিজের পরাক্রমে দক্ষিণে বায়ুকে পরিচালনা দিলেন।
27 And He rains on them flesh as dust, And as sand of the seas—winged bird,
২৭তিনি তাদের উপরে মাংসকে ধূলোর মত, অগুন্তি পাখি সমুদ্রের বালির মত বর্ষালেন।
28 And causes [it] to fall in the midst of His camp, Around His dwelling places.
২৮সেগুলি তাদের শিবিরের মধ্যে পড়ল, তাদের তাঁবুর চারিপাশে পড়ল।
29 And they eat, and are greatly satisfied, And He brings their desire to them.
২৯তখন তারা খেল এবং পরিতৃপ্ত হল; তিনি তাদের দিলেন যা তারা আকাঙ্খা করেছিল;
30 They have not been estranged from their desire, Their food [is] yet in their mouth,
৩০কিন্তু তারা তবুও পরিতৃপ্ত হল না; তাদের খাবার তাদের মুখেই ছিল,
31 And the anger of God has gone up against them, And He slays among their fat ones, And He caused youths of Israel to bend.
৩১ঠিক সেই দিনের, ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ তাদের আক্রমণ করল এবং তাদের শক্তিশালীদের মেরে ফেলল; তিনি ইস্রায়েলের যুবকদেরও মেরে ফেললেন।
32 With all this they have sinned again, And have not believed in His wonders.
৩২এ সত্বেও, তারা পাপ করে চলল এবং তাঁর আশ্চর্য্য কাজে বিশ্বাস করল না।
33 And He consumes their days in vanity, And their years in trouble.
৩৩অতএব তিনি তাদের আয়ুর সংখ্যা কমিয়ে দিলেন, তাদের বছরগুলি আতঙ্কে পূর্ণ হল।
34 If He slew them, then they sought Him, And turned back, and earnestly sought God,
৩৪যখনি ঈশ্বর তাদের দুঃখ দিতেন, তারা তাঁর খোঁজ করত এবং তারা ফিরে সযত্নে ঈশ্বরের অন্বেষণ করত;
35 And they remember that God [is] their rock, And God Most High their redeemer.
৩৫তারা স্মরণ করল যে ঈশ্বর তাদের শৈল ছিলেন এবং সর্বশক্তিমান মহান ঈশ্বরই তাদের মুক্তিদাতা।
36 And they deceive Him with their mouth, And lie to Him with their tongue,
৩৬কিন্তু তারা মুখে তাঁর গৌরব করল এবং জিভে তাঁর কাছে মিথ্যা বলল;
37 And their heart has not been right with Him, And they have not been steadfast in His covenant.
৩৭কারণ তাদের হৃদয় তাঁর প্রতি স্থির ছিল না, তারা তাঁর নিয়মেও বিশ্বস্ত ছিল না।
38 And He, the Merciful One, pardons iniquity, and does not destroy, And has often turned back His anger, And does not awaken all His fury.
৩৮তবুও তিনি করুণাময়, তাদের অপরাধ ক্ষমা করলেন এবং তাদের ধ্বংস করলেন না। হ্যাঁ, অনেকবার তিনি তাঁর রাগ সম্বরণ করলেন এবং নিজের সব ক্রোধ উত্তেজিত করলেন না।
39 And He remembers that they [are] flesh, A wind going on—and it does not return.
৩৯তিনি মনে করলেন যে, তারা মাংস দিয়ে তৈরী, বায়ুর মতো যা বয়ে যায় এবং আর ফিরে আসে না।
40 How often do they provoke Him in the wilderness, Grieve Him in the desolate place?
৪০তারা মরুপ্রান্তে কতবার তার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করল এবং অনুর্বর জায়গায় কতবার তাকে দুঃখ দিল।
41 Indeed, they turn back, and try God, And have limited the Holy One of Israel.
৪১তারা বারবার ঈশ্বরের পরীক্ষা করল এবং ইস্রায়েলের পবিত্রতমকে অসন্তুষ্ট করল।
42 They have not remembered His hand The day He ransomed them from the adversary.
৪২তারা তাঁর ক্ষমতার বিষয়ে স্মরণ করল না, কিভাবে তিনি তাদেরকে শত্রুদের থেকে উদ্ধার করলেন।
43 When He set His signs in Egypt, And His wonders in the field of Zoan,
৪৩যখন তিনি মিশরে নিজের ভয়ঙ্কর চিহ্নগুলি এবং সোয়নের এলাকায় নিজের আশ্চর্য্য কাজগুলি সম্পন্ন করলেন।
44 And He turns their streams to blood, And they do not drink their floods.
৪৪তিনি মিশরীয়দের নদীগুলি রক্তে পরিণত করলেন, যাতে তারা তাদের নদী থেকে পান করতে না পারে।
45 He sends among them the beetle, and it consumes them, And the frog, and it destroys them,
৪৫তিনি তাদের মধ্যে মাছির ঝাঁক পাঠালেন যা তাদের গ্রাস করল ও ব্যাঙ যা তাদের জায়গায় আক্রমণ করল।
46 And gives their increase to the caterpillar, And their labor to the locust.
৪৬তিনি ফড়িংকে তাদের ফসল এবং পঙ্গপালকে তাদের শ্রমফল দিলেন।
47 He destroys their vine with hail, And their sycamores with frost,
৪৭তিনি শিলা দিয়ে তাদের আঙ্গুরের ক্ষেত এবং অনেক শিলা দিয়ে তাদের ডুমুর গাছ নষ্ট করে ফেললেন।
48 And delivers their beasts up to the hail, And their livestock to the burning flames.
৪৮তিনি তাদের গবাদি পশুর ওপরে শিলাবৃষ্টি এবং তাদের পশুপালের মধ্যে বজ্রপাত করলেন।
49 He sends on them the fury of His anger, Wrath, and indignation, and distress—A discharge of evil messengers.
৪৯তিনি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে নিজের রাগের প্রচণ্ডতা, ক্রোধ, কোপ ও বিপদ পাঠালেন দূতের মত যে বিপর্যয় বয়ে আনে।
50 He ponders a path for His anger, He did not keep back their soul from death, Indeed, He delivered up their life to the pestilence.
৫০তিনি নিজের রাগের জন্য পথ করলেন, তিনি মৃত্যু থেকে তাদের রক্ষা করেননি; কিন্তু তাদেরকে মহামারীর হাতে দিলেন।
51 And He strikes every firstborn in Egypt, The first-fruit of the strong in tents of Ham.
৫১তিনি আঘাত করলেন মিশরের সব প্রথম জন্মানো সন্তানকে, হামের তাঁবুগুলির মধ্যে তাদের শক্তির প্রথমজাতদেরকে মেরে ফেললেন
52 And causes His people to journey as a flock, And guides them as a drove in a wilderness,
৫২তিনি নিজের লোকদেরকে মেষের মত চালালেন, পশুপালের মত মরুপ্রান্তের মধ্যে দিয়ে তাদের পরিচালনা করলেন।
53 And He leads them confidently, And they have not been afraid, And the sea has covered their enemies.
৫৩তিনি তাদেরকে নিরাপদে ও নির্ভীকভাবে নিয়ে আসলেন, কিন্তু সমুদ্র তাদের শত্রুদেরকে গ্রাস করল।
54 And He brings them to the border of His sanctuary, This mountain His right hand had acquired,
৫৪এবং তিনি তাদেরকে তাঁর পবিত্র জায়গার সীমায় আনলেন, নিজের হাত দিয়ে অর্জিত এই পর্বতে।
55 And casts out nations from before them, And causes them to fall in the line of inheritance, And causes the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents,
৫৫তিনি তাদের সামনে থেকে জাতিদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দিলেন এবং তাদের অধিকার স্থির করলেন; তিনি ইস্রায়েলের বংশদেরকে তাদের তাঁবুতে বাস করালেন।
56 And they tempt and provoke God Most High, And have not kept His testimonies.
৫৬তবু তারা সর্বশক্তিমান মহান ঈশ্বরের পরীক্ষা করল, তারা বিদ্রোহী হল এবং তার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আদেশগুলি পালন করল না।
57 And they turn back, And deal treacherously like their fathers, They have been turned like a deceitful bow,
৫৭তারা অবিশ্বস্ত হল এবং বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করল তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মত; তারা ত্রুটিপূর্ণ ধনুকের মত অনির্ভরযোগ্য হল।
58 And make Him angry with their high places, And make Him zealous with their carved images,
৫৮কারণ তারা তাদের পৌত্তলিক মন্দিরের দ্বারা তাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করল এবং তাদের প্রতিমাদের দ্বারা তারা তাঁকে ঈর্ষান্বিত রাগে প্ররোচিত করল।
59 God has heard, and shows Himself angry. And kicks exceedingly against Israel.
৫৯যখন ঈশ্বর তা শুনলেন তিনি রেগে গেলেন, ইস্রায়েলকে সম্পূর্ণভাবে ত্যাগ করলেন।
60 And He leaves the Dwelling Place of Shiloh, The tent He had placed among men,
৬০তিনি শীলোহ শহর আশ্রয়স্থল ত্যাগ করলেন, সেই বাসস্থান, যেখানে তিনি লোকদের মধ্যে ছিলেন।
61 And He gives His strength to captivity, And His beauty into the hand of an adversary,
৬১তিনি তাঁর শক্তির সিন্দুক বন্দী করার অনুমতি দিলেন এবং তার মহিমা শত্রুদের হাতে দিলেন।
62 And delivers His people up to the sword, And showed Himself angry with His inheritance.
৬২তিনি নিজের লোকদেরকে তরোয়ালের হস্তগত করলেন এবং তিনি তার অধিকারের প্রতি রেগে গেলেন।
63 Fire has consumed His young men, And His virgins have not been praised.
৬৩আগুন তাদের যুবকদেরকে গ্রাস করল, তাদের যুবতী মেয়েদের বিয়ের গান হল না।
64 His priests have fallen by the sword, And their widows do not weep.
৬৪তাদের যাজকরা তরোয়ালের দ্বারা পড়ে গেল এবং তাদের বিধবারা কাঁদল না।
65 And the Lord wakes as a sleeper, As a mighty one crying aloud from wine.
৬৫তখন প্রভু জাগলেন যেমন একজন ঘুম থেকে জেগে ওঠে, একজন যোদ্ধার মত যে আঙ্গুর রসের কারণে চিত্কার করে।
66 And He strikes His adversaries backward, He has put a continuous reproach on them,
৬৬তিনি নিজের বিপক্ষদেরকে মেরে ফিরিয়ে দিলেন, তাদেরকে চিরকালীন লজ্জার পাত্র করলেন।
67 And He kicks against the tent of Joseph, And has not fixed on the tribe of Ephraim.
৬৭আর তিনি যোষেফের তাঁবু প্রত্যাখ্যান করলেন এবং ইফ্রয়িমের বংশকে মনোনীত করলেন না;
68 And He chooses the tribe of Judah, With Mount Zion that He loved,
৬৮তিনি যিহূদার বংশকে ও সিয়োন পর্বতকে যা তিনি ভালবাসেন সেগুলিকে মনোনীত করলেন।
69 And builds His sanctuary as a high place, Like the earth, He founded it for all time.
৬৯তিনি নিজের পবিত্র জায়গা নির্মাণ করলেন, স্বর্গের মত, পৃথিবীর মত, যা তিনি চিরকালের জন্য স্থাপন করেছেন।
70 And He fixes on His servant David, And takes him from the folds of a flock,
৭০তিনি নিজের দাস দায়ূদকে মনোনীত করলেন এবং তাকে মেষের খোয়াড় থেকে গ্রহণ করলেন;
71 He has brought him in from behind suckling ones, To rule over Jacob His people, And over Israel His inheritance.
৭১তিনি ভেড়াদের পিছন থেকে তাকে আনলেন। নিজের লোক যাকোবকে ও নিজের অধিকার ইস্রায়েলকে চরাতে দিলেন।
72 And he rules them according to the integrity of his heart, And leads them by the skillfulness of his hands!
৭২দায়ূদ তার হৃদয়ের সততানুসারে তাদেরকে চরালেন এবং নিজের হাতের দক্ষতায় তাদেরকে পরিচালনা করলেন।
