Psalms 77

1 TO THE OVERSEER. FOR JEDUTHUN. A PSALM OF ASAPH. My voice [is] to God, and I cry, My voice [is] to God, And He has given ear to me.

Al maestro del coro. Su «Iditum». Di Asaf. Salmo. La mia voce sale a Dio e grido aiuto; la mia voce sale a Dio, finché mi ascolti.

2 I sought the Lord in a day of my distress, My hand has been spread out by night, And it does not cease, My soul has refused to be comforted.

Nel giorno dell'angoscia io cerco ilSignore, tutta la notte la mia mano è tesa e non si stanca; io rifiuto ogni conforto.

3 I remember God, and make a noise, I meditate, and my spirit is feeble. (Selah)

Mi ricordo di Dio e gemo, medito e viene meno il mio spirito.

4 You have taken hold of the watches of my eyes, I have been moved, and I do not speak.

Tu trattieni dal sonno i miei occhi, sono turbato e senza parole.

5 I have reckoned the days of old, The years of the ages.

Ripenso ai giorni passati, ricordo gli anni lontani.

6 I remember my music in the night, I meditate with my heart, and my spirit searches diligently:

Un canto nella notte mi ritorna nel cuore: rifletto e il mio spirito si va interrogando.

7 Does the Lord cast off for all ages? Does He add to be pleased no longer?

Forse Dio ci respingerà per sempre, non sarà più benevolo con noi?

8 Has His kindness ceased forever? The saying failed from generation to generation?

E' forse cessato per sempre il suo amore, è finita la sua promessa per sempre?

9 Has God forgotten [His] favors? Has He shut up His mercies in anger? (Selah)

Può Dio aver dimenticato la misericordia, aver chiuso nell'ira il suo cuore?

10 And I say: “My weakness is, The changes of the right hand of the Most High.”

E ho detto: «Questo è il mio tormento: è mutata la destra dell'Altissimo».

11 I mention the doings of YAH, For I remember Your wonders of old,

Ricordo le gesta del Signore, ricordo le tue meraviglie di un tempo.

12 And I have meditated on all Your working, And I talk concerning Your doings.

Mi vado ripetendo le tue opere, considero tutte le tue gesta.

13 O God, Your way [is] in holiness, Who [is] a great god like God?

O Dio, santa è la tua via; quale dio è grande come il nostro Dio?

14 You [are] the God doing wonders. You have made Your strength known among the peoples,

Tu sei il Dio che opera meraviglie, manifesti la tua forza fra le genti.

15 You have redeemed Your people with strength, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)

E' il tuo braccio che ha salvato il tuo popolo, i figli di Giacobbe e di Giuseppe.

16 The waters have seen You, O God, The waters have seen You, They are afraid—also depths are troubled.

Ti videro le acque, Dio, ti videro e ne furono sconvolte; sussultarono anche gli abissi.

17 Thick clouds have poured out waters, The skies have given forth a noise, Also—Your arrows go up and down.

Le nubi rovesciarono acqua, scoppiò il tuono nel cielo; le tue saette guizzarono.

18 The voice of Your thunder [is] in the spheres, Lightnings have lightened the world, The earth has trembled, indeed, it shakes.

Il fragore dei tuoi tuoni nel turbine, i tuoi fulmini rischiararono il mondo, la terra tremò e fu scossa.

19 Your way [is] in the sea, And Your paths in many waters, And Your tracks have not been known.

Sul mare passava la tua via, i tuoi sentieri sulle grandi acque e le tue orme rimasero invisibili.

20 You have led Your people as a flock, By the hand of Moses and Aaron!

Guidasti come gregge il tuo popolo per mano di Mosè e di Aronne.
