Psalms 75

1 TO THE OVERSEER. “DO NOT DESTROY.” A PSALM OF ASAPH. A SONG. We have given thanks to You, O God, We have given thanks, and Your Name [is] near, They have recounted Your wonders.

Przewodnikowi chóru. Al taszchet. Psalm i pieśń Asafa. Wysławiamy cię, Boże, wysławiamy, bo bliskie twoje imię; opowiadają [to] twoje cudowne dzieła.

2 When I receive an appointment, I judge uprightly.

Gdy wyznaczę czas, będę sądzić sprawiedliwie.

3 The earth and all its inhabitants are melted, I have pondered its pillars. (Selah)

Roztopiła się ziemia i wszyscy jej mieszkańcy, [ale] ja umacniam jej filary. (Sela)

4 I have said to the boastful, “Do not be boastful,” And to the wicked, “Do not raise up a horn.”

Powiedziałem głupcom: Nie szalejcie, a niegodziwym: Nie podnoście rogu.

5 Do not raise up your horn on high (You speak with a stiff neck).

Nie podnoście wysoko swego rogu [i] nie mówcie wyniośle;

6 For not from the east, or from the west, Nor from the wilderness—[is] elevation.

Bo nie ze wschodu ani z zachodu, ani z południa [przychodzi] wywyższenie.

7 But God [is] judging, This He makes low—and this He lifts up.

Lecz Bóg [jest] sędzią; tego poniża, a tamtego wywyższa.

8 For a cup [is] in the hand of YHWH, And the wine has foamed, It is full of mixture, and He pours out of it, Surely wring out its dregs, And all the wicked of the earth drink,

W ręku PANA bowiem [jest] kielich mętnego wina, pełnego przypraw; z niego nalewa tak, że wszyscy niegodziwi ziemi wycisną nawet męty i wypiją je.

9 And I declare [it] for all time, I sing praise to the God of Jacob.

Ja zaś będę zawsze opowiadał, będę śpiewał Bogu Jakuba.

10 And I cut off all horns of the wicked, The horns of the righteous are exalted!

I połamię wszystkie rogi niegodziwych, a rogi sprawiedliwego będą wzniesione.
