Psalms 60
1 TO THE OVERSEER. [SET] ON “LILY OF TESTIMONY.” A MIKTAM OF DAVID, TO TEACH, IN HIS STRIVING WITH ARAM-NAHARAIM AND WITH ARAM-ZOBAH, WHEN JOAB TURNS BACK AND STRIKES EDOM IN THE VALLEY OF SALT—TWELVE THOUSAND. O God, You had cast us off, You had broken us—had been angry! You turn back to us.
Oh Bog, zavrgel si nas, razkropil si nas, razžaljen si bil; oh, ponovno se obrni k nam.
2 You have caused the land to tremble, You have broken it, Heal its breaches, for it has moved.
Storil si, da zemlja trepeta, zlomil si jo; zaceli njene vrzeli, kajti trese se.
3 You have shown Your people a hard thing, You have caused us to drink wine of trembling.
Svojemu ljudstvu si pokazal težke stvari. Storil si nam, da pijemo vino osuplosti.
4 You have given an ensign to those fearing You, To be lifted up as an ensign Because of truth. (Selah)
Tem, ki se te bojijo, si dal prapor, da bi bil ta lahko dvignjen zaradi resnice. (Sela)
5 That Your beloved ones may be drawn out, Save [with] Your right hand, and answer us.
Da bodo tvoji ljubljeni lahko osvobojeni, reši s svojo desnico in me usliši.
6 God has spoken in His holiness: I exult—I apportion Shechem, And I measure the Valley of Succoth,
Bog je spregovoril v svoji svetosti: »Veselil se bom, razdelil bom Sihem in odmeril Sukótsko dolino.
7 Gilead [is] Mine, and Manasseh [is] Mine, And Ephraim [is] the strength of My head, Judah [is] My lawgiver,
Gileád je moj in Manáse je moj; tudi Efrájim je moč moje glave, Juda je moj postavodajalec,
8 Moab [is] My pot for washing, Over Edom I cast My shoe, Shout, concerning Me, O Philistia.
Moáb je moj lonec za pranje, nad Edóm bom vrgel svoj čevelj; Filisteja zmaguj zaradi mene.«
9 Who brings me [to] a city of bulwarks? Who has led me to Edom?
Kdo me bo privedel v utrjeno mesto? Kdo me bo vodil v Edóm?
10 Is it not You, O God? Have You cast us off? And do You not go forth, O God, with our hosts?
Mar ne ti, oh Bog, ki si nas zavrgel? In ti, oh Bog, ki nisi odšel z našimi vojskami?
11 Give to us help from adversity, And the deliverance of man [is] vain.
Daj nam pomoč iz stiske, kajti prazna je človeška pomoč.
12 We do mightily in God, And He treads down our adversaries!
Zaradi Boga bomo delali hrabro, kajti on je ta, ki bo pomendral naše sovražnike.
