Psalms 53

1 TO THE OVERSEER. “ON A DISEASE.” AN INSTRUCTION OF DAVID. A fool said in his heart, “There is no God.” They have done corruptly, Indeed, they have done abominable iniquity, There is none doing good.

Mai marelui muzician, „Mahalat, Maschil,” Un psalm al lui David. Nebunul a spus în inima lui: Nu este Dumnezeu. Corupți sunt ei și au făcut nelegiuiri scârboase, nu este niciunul care face binele.

2 God looked on the sons of men from the heavens, To see if there is an understanding one, [One] seeking God.

Dumnezeu a privit din cer peste copiii oamenilor, să vadă dacă este vreunul care să înțeleagă, care să caute pe Dumnezeu.

3 Everyone went back, together they became filthy, There is none doing good—not even one.

Fiecare a mers înapoi, toți împreună au devenit murdari; nu este niciunul care să facă binele, niciunul măcar.

4 Workers of iniquity have not known, Those eating my people have eaten bread, They have not called God.

Nu au lucrătorii nelegiuirii cunoaștere? Cei care mănâncă pe poporul meu cum mănâncă pâine nu au chemat pe Dumnezeu.

5 There they feared a fear—there was no fear, For God has scattered the bones of him Who is encamping against you, You have put to shame, For God has despised them.

Acolo unde nu era spaimă, au fost ei în mare spaimă, fiindcă Dumnezeu a împrăștiat oasele celui ce așază tabăra împotriva ta, tu i-ai făcut de rușine pentru că Dumnezeu i-a disprețuit.

6 Who gives the salvation of Israel from Zion? When God turns back [to] a captivity of His people, Jacob rejoices—Israel is glad!

O, de ar veni salvarea lui Israel din Sion! Când Dumnezeu aduce înapoi pe poporul său din captivitate, Iacob se va bucura și Israel se va veseli.
